Congratulations on the new tractor. You will love it. You did good with the R-4 tires and the pallet forks. I have pallet forks and they are better than having a hired hand. You can move logs, limbs and whole brush piles or make some huge brush piles.

I bought my 1996 new Holland tractor, I used it hard for 22 years and she still puts on a good days work when needed, congratulations on your purchase of that nice new tractor it will last you many years, The Mahindra tractor will be the next one I get, if my new Holland ever gives up

I'm glad you got you a new tractor. It looks like a nice one. If it is anything like my 20 year old Massey, the foot throttle is for giving a little extra power when you need it. You will need to set your rpm with the column throttle. The clutch will not be a problem, just set your rpm, and ease out on the clutch. you will not choke it down unless you are trying to start off in a very high gear and pulling a load. One more thing, DO Not run it out of diesel, That's a real experience. Again congratulations on your new tractor you will really enjoy it. R

With regards to the differential braking it a good thing. I was up on top of the mountain at Camp Bullowa in NY, when the tie rod broke on the front wheels. I secured the wheels with a hawser that I wove out of 1/4" polypropylene line and slowly worked my way down the mountain trail. Great video, thumbs up.

  • @richhiway
    @richhiway 6 років тому +2

The independent brakes are also used to lock a spinning wheel and put power to the opposite wheel with traction to get out when your stuck. You probably also have a differential lock to put power to both wheels. You are going to love those forks. Good luck with her!

New tractors are always fun. The steps on the pallet forks are for when they are on a skid steer so you have a step when climbing in.
Or for tying things to when on a loader.
Just recently started watching your channel and I am enjoying it and am impressed with the video quality including the drone footage. You are so lucky to have such a variety of trees. Our native trees are Pines and Western Juniper with some firs up higher, though just today I was eyeballing some planted maples along the road and thinking about how they could be cut up.

Nice tractor, that’ll move those big walnut logs. Growing up on a farm in South Georgia, dad bought his first tractor in about 1946-47. It had a clutch, separate break pedals that could be locked together, a gas pedal on the floor plus a lever on the steering column; always wondered why other tractors didn’t have the same. They were Case, loved those tractors. Looking forward to some great videos with it, of course, all your videos are great. Take care, be safe. 👍👍👍👍

Congrats! Get as much ballast on the rear as you can, it's easy to get tipsy when moving that much weight, any extra helps. Good points on the R4, we got the Ag tires, but wish I had teh R4...the front Ag tires don't have as much weight capacity and it's been something we have to keep an eye on

I've been specing out the 45 and 65 Mahindra 4x4 machines.
Being 6'4" and wide shouldered , the 45 series is a tight fit for me.
Great choice as the front remote and power band on the Mahindra are great.
The steps on the pallet forks are used more for the skid steer, however as you pointed out ,will make good tie off points!!.
I look forward to seeing your future vids incorporating it into daily use at the sawmill.

Outstanding brother! We have a Mahindra as well, my dad naught it in 2005. It’s been a great tractor, I do wish he had gotten the 4 wheel drive though, I’ve had it stuck only about four times since then but wouldn’t have been stuck at all with the 4 wheel. I saw a comment from someone on here and I’d have to agree 100 percent with him about getting the front tires filled with foam or the silicone thing. It’s a bit pricey but man will it pay off in the long run, I’d say it was one of the best tings we did but our property is loaded with locust trees👍🇺🇸

Out of the Woods It’s definitely not cheap but I compare it to four wheel drive, it adds some real cost up front but it something you don’t regret . The good news is with those new tires you shouldn’t have to rush into it, put a few bucks a month away for a year or two and then have it done.👍🇺🇸

    Nathan,
With the ballast in the tubeless tire you have to watch out for corrosion from the inside out.
We had the same stuff in a JD 1050, after about 5 years 1 wheel rim collapsed, or more appropriately exploded, around the valve stem. When the tires were taken off on both sides there were several.spots about the size of a quarter that were really thinned down.
All the damage was fixed up with careful welding and grinding.
Simple fix - tire tube...ballast inside the tube
So if you ever have to take those tires off the rear. Heck the rims and add tires before remounting and refilling with ballast.
The JD1050 also has a clutch - if yours is anything like that one, just don't pop the clutch unless you like whiplash. Ease it out and away you go.
    Have fun !!

I worked with a guy that bought one bigger than mine and he was going to just use it for raking hay. It didn't last long. He bales round bales for anyone and that was just not the tractor the same size kubota is. I kept my Farm Trac for 12 years and sold it to my neighbor. Like me he will only use it lightly and it should be ok. Nice tractor! Are you going to throw a roof on it? It might keep you cooler in the sun, dry in the rain, and you seat.

The hydraulics on the Loader will lift more than your Front Tires are rated for ... Fill the Front Tires with Silicone and have the extra weight capacity as well as Never have a flat.

      Out of the Woods
I did it on my Mahindra 6500 that had a 7500 Loader on it ... I could rip Oak Trees out by the roots, cleared 5 acres (no stumps) and could max fill the bucket w wet sand and have the back tires just caressing the ground ...
Many Industrial Tire Service Companies can do the Silicone fill, mine was overnight ... drop it off in the morning pick it up the following afternoon. I don't know if they can do it onsite...

TMB247 It’s a little on the expensive side but I agree with you brother, it’s easily well worth it in the long run. My dad had it done on his Mahindra and our place is loaded with locust trees, probably would have had a hundred flats by now.👍🇺🇸

That unload made me cringe. I would have lost it if it were my machine being delivered.

Sounds like the wrong to you but for the lift in the logs you need to get a sawmill that flips your stuff and does all estefan need on have a grappling hook either you get up fork lift basically a 4 wheel drive forklift tractor I don't know you get out and get rid of long where you can pull your own more behind it get a tear down every time just to put it in a garage I don't know about that your build a new garage again to hire door don't even have a blade to push off the snow with

Let's see I believe Mahindra tractors are mad in India. I wonder how many walnut slabs they will be purchasing from you!
