Most of the points mentioned, that if it occurs it's almost too late already. Here is a good guide when to change oil: Mineral grade oil 3500 miles maximum. Synthetic oil 7000 miles maximum. Your engine will last a very long time.
@Bennie thank you for your response. I have a Camry with $174k miles and the dealership tells me to change it at 10k like when I bought the car brand new. The light flickered during a hard stop yesterday and the dipstick was dry once I got home. I put oil in, but I am thinking that $10k is too long to go on a vehicle with that many miles on it. I wish they would be a little more better about helping advise people that as your car gets older, you should not wait as long to change the oil.
can it car especially diesel ones have hickups in driving because of oil like it wants to stop especially during change of gears or when gas pedal are not pressed
@@nellekeysgamingyou might try every 5K miles or 6 months (whichever comes first). This may help in prolonging the life of your engine. I agree, as the car gets older, the original interval to keep the warranty valid may be too long. Personally I would go half that mileage.
@carlovanrijk4039 ty. That is what I plan on doing this go around. I bought a camry hybrid with 29k miles on it so i plan on getting the oil changed more often ince it gets older
DARK OIL IS NOT PERSE BAD OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick and tired of seeing this here on you tube each and every time ! Drive a diesel and it's black within 10 miles, so new oil goes bad in 10 miles as 'it's black' ? It's all down to distance and style of driving. One person can go 8K on oil (motorway driving, long distances), while another uses up that oil in 3K (city driving, start stop, short distances)
I change my oil when I can’t see my oil dip stick level lines through the oil. Over fifty five years of doing it this way and never ever had an engine problem.
If your oil pressure light comes on, you already messed up. Turn it off immediately.
Are you a Chinese robot
If your oil pressure lights on you’ve already done damage
I'm surprised it didn't say "Lick the oil off the dipstick....If the oil feels gritty on your tongue, change the oil immediately!" 🤣😂🤣
Rubbing your oil between your fingers to check oil viscosity is an old wives tale. The rest is correct though.
This is the most comprehensive guide I have seen on engine oil condition

0:59 bad idea to touch used car oil like that, used oil is a known carcinogen.
Don’t worry it s not going to harm you touching used motor oil. Don’t make an everyday habit of it.

Hi apologies my friend...its not meant a simple dark oil...it mean a thick dark abrasive oil
Thanks for the info I'm worried thinking I need to change oil again.just two months after I go to the shop for service
Good advice
This is dumb. If your car is showing signs of needing its oil changed it’s too late.
Good
