Low key really did this background music!! Also I made a Holo Taco order (tipsy) at Cyber Monday and am loving the holos so far!!! Trying the peely base for the first time today :)
Of course we want a “tips to make your mani last” video! We want all of the videos you can possibly make :D
Can you put the peely base coat on 1st then the smoothing base coat on top to cover the pits and ridges if you have them? So you get the added benefit of a smoothed easy to peel peely
Odd question, but could one use the peely base AND then use the smoothing base on top of it? My nails have the ridges because of genetics, but they also dry out really badly if I use polish remover. So if I could use the peely base, and then the smoothing base, and then colored polish on top and it would actually work, that would be amazing :D
You should make a nail polish for us food service workers!!!! Even with a long last base and making sure to cap my nails my polish pops off with 2 or 3 days of work 😭 pretty sure its from all the dish water I have my hands in all day
OMG AN REALLLLL NAIL ART VIDEO * suddenly gets very impressed * and to all the haters this comment was written with no intent to harm so don't come at me in the comments
Can you use multiple base coats, like the smoothing one with the long lasting one?
I need ridge filler and base ride filler cus my nails are fucked up . But I can try long lasting base
I have a nail injury that lasted me 20 or so years. There's a top shell on my nail that keeps on peeling off (so there's a space in the middle of my nail's cross section) and the nail retained a squareish shape. Can I use the smoothing base to reinforce the top shell and prevent it from cracking and peeling off so that I could even this nail out? I practically gave up on manicures coz Im thinking its doing harm on that one nail, so I'd have technicians skip that, and have a 9-nail mani. Growing my nails dont do much, as it would just peel off again, and I'd have a nail with a really long, deep ridge. I recently used acrylic nails on it (which is a tad bit inconvenient coz it feels unnatural), then resorted to using cheap clear polish to reinforce the nail, but it would usually chip off, then I'd forget about putting another layer on it (and slowly work my way to polish mountain), and the cycle restarts. I dont put acetone on it as it softens the top shell and peels the nail off yet again. Um... yes, I need help. Any reco?
Can you combine them? Lets say I have uneven nails but would also like to use the long wear base coat? Would it last the same?
Anyone else read eczema as the way Cristine says it compares to how they usually say it?
Are you going to release a matte topper?
Does the long lasting base coat work with the smoothing base coat?
More tips please
I want tips and the tricks please
I'm a waitress and wash my hands 1000 times a day. I refuse to get acrylics and nail polish never, ever lasts more than 5 minutes once I'm at work. PLEASE educate me as to how to ensure my mani can last for at least three days. That would wildly exceed any of my expectations. Btw, found you about 2 months ago and I'm angry that I missed out for so long. Je t'adore!
I enjoy your promo videos,if I didn't work a that literally rips and busts fingernails off,I'd wear your polish but as it is,no amount of care can fix my man hands lol

I love how real everything is. Like the long lasting “day 1, 1 week, 2 weeks” really was those times. You can see how her cuticles grow more in each shot. This is the kind of advertisement we need from all brands.
You mean you can see the fresh nailplate
@sweetxiuga yes that's great she is showing the time from fresh to two weeks.
However, "cuticle" is actually dead skin in the nail plate that can be removed with cuticle remover and a cuticle pusher.
What you are seeing is the actual nail growth.
Agreed, plus she's not overselling it, she states other factors and doesn't pretend it's a miraculous solution to our issues, I loved it

Molly Harrison yeah I'm hoping the one she posts on holo taco will be more associated with her own product cause I keep buying allll of her base coats 😂

cristine i learned about peel off base coats and it actually changed my life for a weird reason
so i have ocd, and one of the manifestations of that for me is compulsive skin picking, which usually occurs around my nails. ive figured out that i can make it less frequent if i have nail polish on, but sometimes it'll make me feel weird and taking it off is a pain. but with peel off base coats i can just. take it off. and if i want to pick at my skin i can peel it off with my fingers which helps delay it.
anyway this will probably get buried but thanks cristine for introducing me to this:)
you should maybe try gel polish?

is it possible to layer on the base coats? like using smoothing base, then long-lasting next. idk im new to nail polish kjdkfsk;;
I'm not an expert, but I don't think so. Now, if you want to try, you would want to make sure that either the peel-off base coat or the long-lasting base coat are directly applied on the nail, because it truly is their intent (either stick to the nail or make sure it's peelable). You could potentially use the smoothing base over either one of those two (since its intent is to smooth rather than stick/make the nail polish peelable), but I'm not sure how it would perform or what its reaction to the other base coat would be
You could, but you have to make sure they are both 100% dry before you put on the other basecoat, and before you apply your nail polish. Keep in mind, having those two layers under the color you apply will make your nails look pretty thick, unless you like that look/feel. :)
I mean honestly maybe. If you did the long lasting directly on the nail and then smoothing after I think that would work. The peel off base coat and the smoothing would work, as well. Obviously don't use long lasting and peel off base coat in the same mani though!!
@@nadia-yx6re part of me wants to do a manicure with long lasting then peel off over that and another with peel off then long lasting over that just to see what would happen...
@@elizabethshuster218 As someone with way too thin and too brittle nails (battling chronic anaemia with my doctor's help) I looove having so much product on my nails it's twice or thrice as thick as my way too thin and very short nails. It works as protection!
I usually dont put it all on at once, but just apply yet another layer of top coat every other day. Which is wholly doable if you take care of your hands and use a really good base coat. ...I haven't tried acrylic nails yet, but I go through top coat polish at a ludicrous pace, unsurprisingly. All the thick top coat layers makes the nails look like jewels too because of the light refraction and the holo.

Can you stack the base coats? Like using the smoothing and then the peel off one? Or the smoothing and long lasting?
I'm not sure, but if you do, make sure that either the peel-off base coat or the long lasting base coat is the one you use directly on the nail, for their effect is, respectively, to make the nail polish peelable or to make sure it sticks to the nail (thus, the two can't be combined). You could still try to use the smoothing base over either one of those two
Well I didn’t try it, but to my logic probably. Like you can use peel off first and the smoothing to peel of ur mani later and for a smoother service. Or long lasting first and then smoothing first so that your mani stays long and again you have a smoother nail. Tho it would be simply not logical to use long lasting and peel of together lol😂
I'm curious too! Cristiiiiiine let us know
@@cansudagyarann6854 yea it's as you say it, probably fine to put a smoothing base coat over a peel off base coat, or a smoothing base coat over a long lasting one, but any other combination or order would be weird..

I’ve used all three and have to say, the ridge filling base is my favorite just because it is sooo smoothing and makes my nails look flawless. Long lasting does exactly that, which is good for weeks I’m feeling lazy... but I usually want to paint my nails a new color. And the peely base. Damn girl. I can’t say enough good things about it. It comes off so much cleaner than ÜNT. Which makes prep for a new mani a BREEZE. Seriously. No residue left at ALL.
Thanks for all you do!

Still me: But...I WANT THEM ALL.
I would own them all, I defintely want them in my collection. And have a use for each and every one. But personally, the long last basecoat is my favorite/most needed.
I’m 33 and still find it difficult to paint my nails 🤷🏻♀️
Im 34 and definitely cannot paint like a pro, but it doesn't stop me from painting them. A toothpick or little wooden stick is my best friend the get the polish from around my nails. 🤦♀️🤷♀️
I'm 10 and I'm realy good at painting nails
Practice practice! I’m 30 and have just recently considered myself good at painting my nails. If you get a peely base, you can practice more often too. Also highly recommend a clean up brush for dried polish and using a cuticle pusher to clean up/wipe away wet polish.
StephanieOliver Well, i’m 42 and Still have problems too; My biggest problem is adding nail polish on my right hand, cause i normally use right hand to write with, so i’m not good at painting with my left hand 🙄😖
I get mine done at the salon🙊. When I paint my toenails I paint all over my toes then wait for the polish to come of my skin lol. Im awful at painting my nails. I can to other people's no problem.
Thanks for the tips! You should organize a nail oil!!

Hard removal is a-okay -thanks~! 👍
@@irishgrrd definitely smoother first. 😉
i always thought of using a base over the peely so that the pigments won’t stain the nail
One thing I love about holo taco: the brushes help you differentiate between the different base coats! It's such a small detail but it's so handy
Question: Can we use both the peely base AND the smoothing base? I'd love to have a smoother finish to my nails, but also the ease that the peely base gives me.
I was gonna ask the same question
@@Ara_ann Hope she answers soon, I've got a window to redo my nails! LOL
If you put peely base on first, I imagine it'd work; worst case, you'll find out soon enough and not have much to clean up afterwards.
I guess using the peely base first and then using the smoothing one would work
Lol I asked this on the website weeks ago and still haven't heard back..
Can you use a combination of base coats, like a peely first and then the smoothing over top of that? Or would it not really make a difference to the finished appearance?

Who is here after her latest video about taking a break?
I’ve been looking for a smoothing basecoat that goes on evenly. This is it. I love this stuff. Put it on and nails look nice until your ready to put on some color. ❤️
PROTIP: If your school doesn't allow painted nails, then you can use a smoothing base coat instead of a regular base coast, cuz the smoothing base coat looks natural and also smoothes your nails giving a more beautiful finish.
I GOT YOUR HOLODAY SET ❤️❤️❤️ love ya cris
eczema is so damn annoying! I get them too.
I wonder if you can use a peely base for fake nails because that glue is a pain to get off your nails

I'm so tempted by this that I'm painting my nails with an imaginary Nail Polish.
I would love a video on how to keep your mani chip free. I feel like mine chips within 24 hours after application
I need the smoothing base coat, I just can't afford one for the time being. x_x I have very ridged nails that grow in wonky & crooked.
I work in a factory so the whole “doing less with my hands” isn’t an option. Open to any other suggestions. 💕💖
I have to use my hands a lot too. Keeping your nails relatively short helps a lot. If your nails are flexible, they can be a little longer, but you will get ridges where the nail polish bends. Also gels are relatively inexpensive if you do them at home and they last a very long time. You can also use a peel off base coat with them. Another thing that works is regular nail polish with a gel top coat, but this one is tricky because if the nail polish is even slightly wet, it will wrinkle under the top coat, but that can look like a cool effect
Is it possible to combine them like long lasting, smoothing, long lasting and the nail polish and then taco?
Oo nail polish isn’t allowed in school, so I LOVE the look of smoothing base coat

She would have to live a damn long life if she wanted to answer every loving comments she received!
Damage to the nail plate can cause nail malformations, but most of the time, things like nail ridges are caused from poor health that then effects your nail matrix. The nail matrix is what creates nail cells. It is located at the base of the nail where your eponychium is.
Are you able to layer the smoothing and long lasting or the peely and smoothing?

You should expand the smoothing base coats into a few more inclusive skin tone shades too!

Just gotta say out of all the beauty gurus out there I’m most proud of you, your line obviously has your passion involved not just to make a quick buck.
Also the fact that it is it’s own brand name based on a cute quote you’ve had as a saying through the years instead of calling something like “Cristines nail polish” aka James Charles palette ... it adds character and I’m honestly in love even though I don’t have any of your products yet.

Hey Simply, a few times now I’ve applied one thin coat of one coat black and let it dry for a few days. Then I went to put a glossy taco on top and the black came off and got in the brush. Is it just a pigmentation issue or is something weird happening on a chemical level? 🤔 This has been happening for years with a bunch of my polishes but I have no clue what I’m doing wrong. *Please help!*
Hey cristine, i had a lil question, i really want a peel of base coat, but i have bumpy nails, do you think i could use a peel of with smoothing or does that just not work cuz science & stuff? Also love ur vids 🥺💕
