I didn’t realize until recently when I was talking to my husband that I bought all except the off white and blue specialty polishes. I didn’t buy them all at once. I don’t tend to buy greens but those greens are so darn pretty. 💚
my takeaways: 1) I liked that you showed the color comparisons of the cream vs specialty polishes to highlight how well they complement each other. 2) I think Silent Library is HT's attempt to re-do Cold Shoulder but with a more stable formula. 3) I will be disappointed if this is how all of the frosted metals are from now on because I really liked the larger flakies in the older style of their original collection, but also it seems that formula was not their most successful
I love this whole collection for the deeper, rich tones, and am happy to see Holo Taco continuing to fill out those gaps in the colors they offer. Especially, in the cremes like with Ivory Tower. I purchased mine last week, and saw it just shipped today, so I’m super excited!

I ordered the entire collection immediately at launch (which I rarely do). These are right up my alley! I wish Devil's Advocate was an opaque creme since deep oxbloods in creme formulas are much harder to find than the crelly ones

my order just got here today and i swatched them on my acrylic swatch sticks this afternoon! from this collection, i got secret society, inkwell, and head hunter which are all gorgeous. i went in a bit of a hater for ivory tower i admit, but seeing more people searching it has warmed me to it, and i think i might even get it the next time i order from HT! i think it + not pressed + a dark yellow and then a brown or orange would be a fun nail art combo for Retro Vibes lol, maybe as a water marble

I actually do prefer this frosted metal to their previous ones! Honestly I wasn't the biggest fan of the frosted metal finish when it came out, I think this more jelly-like version suits the style much better 😅😅

Well, if there was any reason to give Halo Taco a go it would be this Autumn collection. The Grad School bundle was my favorite group, but you gotta love a beautiful oxblood color you get with Devil's Advocate.
I’ve been exercising so much restraint lately, but I might have to make an exception for this collection. I bought their fall collection last year, but I found that even with Orly Bonder base coat the staining was worse than with any other brand I’ve tried. Right now that’s the only thing holding me back.
I hear you on feeling like you’re not good at learning languages 😅 I have to agree with another commenter who said immersion is the best method. My husband’s family is from Guatemala and I’ve picked up a pretty good amount of Spanish from them 😁 I can’t really hold a conversation but as long as I’m listening to a conversation, I can get the gist of what they’re talking about. I’m also trying to learn Italian (my grandparents were born and raised there) and I actually have been learning through reading in the language. I have books that are part English and part Italian and it forces my brain to try understand the new language. I can’t sit there with workbooks and conjugate verbs 😅 As soon as I could stop taking French in school (it’s mandatory in Canada), I stopped because that’s all it was to me and I was a B/B+ student in French at best lol.
From this collection I picked up the oxblood and the shimmer green. I figured something for spooky season and something for Christmas time. 😊 I may go back for that concrete color or that deep dark bronze shimmer.

I was told that Spanish is easier for people who already know french (like I do) so I'm really excited to start ☺️ BTW I learn English by myself with a very basic highschool base and by watching TV and UA-cam in English at the age of 25+ it took me like 5 years to be able to think in English and be with people who speaks only English. It is not impossible 😅 Now I'm 36 and I watch stuff only in VO and I can say that not a lot of stuff that I watch is in French in VO 😅 Fun fact about this, my first TV show in all English without any subtitles was Avatar the last Airbender because I knew it so well and the language is simple! After that it was Star Wars for the same reasons ect ect... Conversations will come with practice honnestly.

Hi Kelli new subscriber here and I love the few videos I watched and your positive, pleasant attitude and voice :) you must have mentioned it so many times but I will ask anyways: what top coat are you using and what is your favorite (preferably one without "harmful" ingredients)
I actually don't use top coat in my swatch & review videos, just because I want people to see how the polishes look on their own (if the polish has a matte finish, or isn't as self levelling)! But in general I always recommend using top coat to keep your mani lasting long 😅 lately I've been loving the KBShimmer Clearly on Top quick dry top coat because it dries super fast and has a thicker, gel-like finish, but when I'm in a real hurry I love the Orly Shining Armor top coat, it's thinner but it dries even quicker haha!
I ordered the grad school bundle plus Head Hunter but I’m most excited for Ivy League and Secret Society. They’re supposed to arrive to me in Canada tomorrow, but I had to delay the delivery till Friday cuz I’m taking my son to university tomorrow so I’ll be hours away and don’t want my Holo Taco sitting outside on my step for that long! Lol. (Silly UPS charging $2.00 for a delivery date change is wild, btw!). I’m currently wearing HT’s Not Pressed topped with Scorched Earth though and it’s such a stunning prugly combo that I don’t wanna take it off! 🤣 Also, I agree, learning new languages quickly and easily would be the absolute best non-superpower superpower!
That's crazy they make you pay to change the delivery date! If it helps, I live in a very hot area and I've left tons of brands' polishes in my mailbox for days in the heat and they're fine once you get them back to room temperature 😅😅 although I'm sure that doesn't help if you're worried about thieves haha!
Grad School bundle but I plan to go all the way through school with these polishes. HAHA. I am trying to learn Spanish also for work. We have lots of Spanish speaking employees. I would love to have an eidetic memory, my memory is awful and it would be amazing to remember everything....which in turn would help with Spanish..
I feel the same about languages! I took 6 years of Spanish classes from middle school to college, but I’ve retained very little of it. If you put Spanish writing in front of me, I can work out what it’s saying. I could probably write a bit myself as well, though my grammar would be off. But the second you need me to speak or listen to it, it’s like my brain just turns off.

I like the graduate bundle more, but I think my favorites are secret society or Ivy League. Learning a new language is harder as an adult. You would likely never reach the same level as if you were to learn that language as a child. Not to mention your “voice box” is already “set”, so making sounds more in your first language is hard too. I wish I could communicate telephonically instead lol
Dark academia is an aesthetic/style for clothing and decor mostly. Inspired by academic uniforms, classic style clothes, and academic architecture- think of those fancy universities 🥰🖤 give it a Google! Really cool style. This color palette nails it 😅💅🏼

Hi Kelli new subscriber here and I love the few videos I watched and your positive, pleasant attitude and voice :) you must have mentioned it so many times but I will ask anyways: what top coat are you using and what is your favorite (preferably one without "harmful" ingredients)
I actually don't use top coat in my swatch & review videos, just because I want people to see how the polishes look on their own (if the polish has a matte finish, or isn't as self levelling)! But in general I always recommend using top coat to keep your mani lasting long 😅 lately I've been loving the KBShimmer Clearly on Top quick dry top coat because it dries super fast and has a thicker, gel-like finish, but when I'm in a real hurry I love the Orly Shining Armor top coat, it's thinner but it dries even quicker haha!

I ordered the grad school bundle plus Head Hunter but I’m most excited for Ivy League and Secret Society. They’re supposed to arrive to me in Canada tomorrow, but I had to delay the delivery till Friday cuz I’m taking my son to university tomorrow so I’ll be hours away and don’t want my Holo Taco sitting outside on my step for that long! Lol. (Silly UPS charging $2.00 for a delivery date change is wild, btw!). I’m currently wearing HT’s Not Pressed topped with Scorched Earth though and it’s such a stunning prugly combo that I don’t wanna take it off! 🤣 Also, I agree, learning new languages quickly and easily would be the absolute best non-superpower superpower!
That's crazy they make you pay to change the delivery date! If it helps, I live in a very hot area and I've left tons of brands' polishes in my mailbox for days in the heat and they're fine once you get them back to room temperature 😅😅 although I'm sure that doesn't help if you're worried about thieves haha!
Grad School bundle but I plan to go all the way through school with these polishes. HAHA. I am trying to learn Spanish also for work. We have lots of Spanish speaking employees. I would love to have an eidetic memory, my memory is awful and it would be amazing to remember everything....which in turn would help with Spanish..

I feel the same about languages! I took 6 years of Spanish classes from middle school to college, but I’ve retained very little of it. If you put Spanish writing in front of me, I can work out what it’s saying. I could probably write a bit myself as well, though my grammar would be off. But the second you need me to speak or listen to it, it’s like my brain just turns off.
It's just so much faster when people are speaking conversationally haha it feels impossible!

Learning a new language is harder as an adult. You would likely never reach the same level as if you were to learn that language as a child. Not to mention your “voice box” is already “set”, so making sounds more in your first language is hard too. I wish I could communicate telephonically instead lol

Dark academia is an aesthetic/style for clothing and decor mostly. Inspired by academic uniforms, classic style clothes, and academic architecture- think of those fancy universities 🥰🖤 give it a Google! Really cool style. This color palette nails it 😅💅🏼

I didn't find it to be patchy in two coats! You might see a bit of my face reflected by the cuticle area if that's what you're talking about 😅😅
