The HE rounds IRL do have a safe arming distance of around 14 - 27 meters. So the dayz devs not adding a arming distance isn't them not hand holding, its them not fully implementing a feature.

Fun fact: because the barrel was aluminum, some Vietnam soldiers would saw off the barrel and the stock of the M-79, turning it into a grenade launching pistol. Imagine if you could do that in DayZ lol

Hey I haven’t seen anyone address this and although not a game breaker it’s quite annoying. So with one of the recent patches they broke plate carrier inventory when you have a pistol holster equipped atleast on Xbox. If you have a pistol holster quipped on the plate carrier you can’t access your inventory in the pouches until you remove the entire holster off. Only seems to affect the plate carrier. Up vote if you have noticed too so he can see it and address it and hopefully fix. Thankyou
I taught my self in BF and Arma games to be really accurate with nade launchers even at long range, by assigning references points on the weapon that i created and assigned them a range, for example, say there is screw head on one side of weapon, i would touch that against the area of ground i want to hit, Fire and then measure how far the projectile travelled and assign that range to a reference point (note, reference points are invented by you).....Eventually you'll have an entire range of them to work with knowing the range of each one. I did it because in Battlefield games there was no zeroing function for explosives such as rifle grenades and with practice you can become deadly with these things, according to arma Rifle grenades of the modern times we live in are effective up too 400 meters....ouch can't wait to see a pro pull of long range shot like that hey....haha awesome

Putting smokegranades on your west might be a good idea, if you get hit on an open field and it sets of the smoke-granade, you already have it smoking and you just need to drop it behind you to give you visual cover against the shooter.
IRL the explosive grenades don't arm until they've spun a certain amount of times. I think they really need to add this into the game. It's not hand-holding, it's COD being more realistic than DayZ. You should also be able to flip up your iron sights to have more accurate zeroing at distance.

Considering a lot of building doors are taller than the height of base gates I can see grenades being spammed through the gap. It would be great to see a base building update that allows walls and gates to be built 2-3 times as high to combat this.
Thanks for another informative video, this new M79 is a beast! DayZ should use the same reload animation for the BK18 IMHO, as the BK18 doesn't have an ejector in real life. You have to manually remove the spent shell before loading the new one, just like the M79.
This is definitely a squad breaker. Just defended against like a 7 hour raid and used the grenade laucher to bombard an area from like 300 meters away. Gassing and exploding the whole area lmao
I would love to see character stats. Like weapon drawing speed, stamina increasing slightly of course to not make it op, speed, strength, ever so slightly shock reduction, reload speed increasing, pretty much everything you do ot slowly increases, with daily caps of course so you don't just sit in a corner grinding. And the best part. When you die your stats reset only things I wouldent like is recoil reduction, as u do that and learn that your self. I'm fine if at max level for that you get lile a 5% buff but nothing to much. Weapon sway stats would be cool aswell. EDIT. I would also love so it takes a very long time to max out... like 2 months of hard core gaming to max out . So it's hardly noticeable to everyone besides the survivors!
Can't decide if this is good or bad once it goes stable. I mean the gas grenade and explosives are cool... But the smoke grenade bouncing around, Jesus christ what's that all about. Sort of frustrating. I feel like the launcher should have its own launch power meter bar or something so you can control how hard it bounces a little better, a bit like when throwing things/grenades. Holding for longer launches further, short hold and release bla bla bla... Ah well let's see lol! Regardless there going to be some epic moments as well as hilarious ones, squad wipes and team kills 🤣 - Great video once again. 🦢❤️
Making pirate gun from this should be an option. Since Vietnam war people tried sawing off wooden stock, it was proven as usefull and makes most sense out of dayz arsenal.

Love your vids. I’ve found the gas projectiles in normal military zones like Balota Airfield an I found the other in the military tents above the port in Chernogorsk. So I think they can spawn in normal military zones. Unless the loot doesn’t despawn when the gas fades??

Interesting fact: the Vietnamese produced copy of M79 grenade does not have this feature IIRC as it increased complexity and failure rate.

The gas rounds don't only spawn in static gas zones, I find them all over the map in military tents even by the coast, and I only play official

They need to add stuff like brick piles to make brick walls, maybe sandbags. New building stuff is needed, not just a health buff for explosives
