AV-8B is much closer to F-35B, it can carry both the 25mm and AIM-120, also has a very similar skin to the F-35B
av8b is just superior in to the sea harrier fa2 in literally every aspect except for straight line speed

Idk why it share the same BR same as the Harrier II, it have significant difference in flight performance.
I can now hover behind a mountain and be an AMRAAM turret
I do that on ground RB and people get really mad. Il hover or land near the air spawn and fire at them right after they spawn.😂

And the fact that he gets withdrawals from not shooting his AMRAAMs at long range is killin me 😂😂

You can still merge with people, it’s just difficult and usually not worth it
I wish people play custom more, custom duel is fun at times

It's war thunder. Merges will always be there no matter the BR. One will always run out of missiles
This has been the worst stock grind I've ever had, took me almost 70 games to reach the AMRAAM and it was non stop pain with multiple 0 kill games. Honestly there is no worse stock grind in this game than this plane.
The Sea Harrier is so sexy, best looking harrier in my opinion.
Best looking harrier 1 for sure. Gr9 looks better in my opinion
(Although my favourite to fly is av8b+)

use the AV8b+ it has 4xaim120 2xaim9m + gun

If I remember rightly from DCS the aim120B is more manoeuvrable than the A model and the C has more range. Is that right ?
A and B's main difference is related to logistics and electronics.

Bro i used VTOL and it's just insanely good the amount of time i marge and they ar going 500km something i plly my nose and lunch aim120 and it's satisfying to watch them go cabooom
Tbf they could add the f-35 an it wouldnt be over powered with the missiles in game, the top radars in the game would still easily see them in launch range unless you where both really high alt an they'd be able to notch radars before the arhs went active better

America learned that lesson during the Vietnam War with the Phantoms and no guns.
Navy never had a gun on their phantoms and pulled better k/d ratios than the airforce ever did, even after the E got introduced.

@@nobleman-swervepaired with the fact that they wanted visual identification which the north vietnamese and russian pilots did not idk how the navy played that but i know paired with the fact that migs had the edge in maneuverability a lot of the downfalls in the sky were really just politics

Tbh when the tryhards actually make the nozzles work these things can really be a pain in the a** if you get too close and slow - and I respect them for that.
Why aren't you dropping your empty pilons automatically? It's unnecessary drag.
Empty pylons cannot be ejected, and even if they could, they arent even modeled into the flight performance so it doesnt actually produce drag
@@cerealenjoyer3000 there is a setting in the game which drops emptied pylons automatically
also gj people mentioned in one of their videos a few years ago that pylons do have drag coefficient and weight though obviously negligible but still
all pylons which are used to mount multiple bombs/missiles/rockets can be jettisoned, only single mount pylons can’t be dropped
@@kerotomas1 that setting allows you to automatically eject empty weapon containers. like rocket pods that can carry lots of unguided rockets, once all the rockets are fired, the empty rocket pod will automatically eject
When will Britain get a proper Harrier II with AIM 120?
Probably never, we never used one
The sea harrier was for fleet defence and had a much better RADAR than the AV8B but was the only British harrier to have fox 3s the GRs were ground attack only
Neat, thought there were Harrier II airframes in FAA that were Fox-3 capable. The more you know.
@galvaniclegend917 The sea harrier never got the harrier 2 structural updates like the new wings like the GR7 and 9. The sea harrier got avionic updates from lessons learnt falklands conflict, and I believe it was the first NATO aircraft to use the AIM120A operationally. Basically, it's a harrier 1 but with a really good RADAR and avionic updates.
