@@SDBROOKS08 I think it’s more of personal preference based on what sort of interior layout and the type of exterior you like or prefer But both are great cars without doubt
Nice review! I have an M550 on order. Do I need the power? Absolutely not, but considering how fast the industry is changing it may be last time I can get a nice V8. Not to mention that a heavily optioned 540 wasn’t that far off in price from the M550.
Congrats on the M550! I had one last year and it was a blast!!! Good thinking re: V8 as you’re right about the industry downsizing cylinders. Thank you for the kind words - I appreciate it!!
Totally agree with your assessment of this car, but for me I don't want any sporty features or larger tires, and I would not allow that start-stop feature to function on my car. Why would you voluntarily allow your car to be worn out by the hour? It makes absolutely no sense and was never intended to, it was intended to increase your visits to the service center, which is the heart of dealership profits.
Well said mate! Great review and what a car. I have the 2021540i RWD here in sunny California, came with the 20-inch rims which i have grown to really love. M550i is my next goal. Cheers!
In 1972 it was called a Bavaria or 3.0 S and 3.0 Si [E3] [father had an E9 - different designer; Karmann], which followed the BMW 2500 in the late 1960's, then [E12] 520 / 528 / 530 started in 1978. This also debuted the iconic Hofmeister Kink which now seems to be almost disappearing from BMW lineups. Then came the most iconic E28s of the 1980's that really stirred the interest and took off. My first BMW wasn't until the E34s would appear though, followed by the E39 and the E60. Followed by F07/F10 and now the G30 and F90 [M5] holdovers. Umpteen LCi's came along in between. What was your favorite?
which makes the cars interior one of its strong points imo. new lux cars is an incredible annoying touchscreen fest ..not to mention dangerous in traffic because of it
Nice review, right on the money. I just bought a 2021 BMW 540i xDrive. Best car I've ever owned!
Own a E class you’ll change your mind

@@SDBROOKS08 mercedes has been shit since late 90s. If you go above 200 kmh stuff starts creaking and shaking.

EXACTLY my sentiments, so I ordered an Individual M550. It may be the "last of the Mahicans."
Great video review. Watching you repeatedly use the gear selector to manually shift while paddle shifters are ignored is a little trippy 🤔😂
Beautiful car and thanks for the review.
Awesome review of the 5 series
Good report!

Well said. I would never buy a car that I could not disable this ridiculous feature on.
It drives me crazy too. I wish it stayed on.
The daytime running lights reminds me of the Toyota Venza

The published trunk space is about 18cu ft. But how much of that is really usable? I don't understand why that floor isn't flat.
I love the BMLU 540i
Good job Jay.
Thank you, my friend 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
how is the ride comfort compared to the e-class and A6?
This barely beats the E class but it still does for ride comfort. Haven’t driven the A6 yet.
What is the exterior color?
No Canadians
I think BMW has stopped innovation. Merc and Audi are way ahead of Bimmers. I owned a BMW 535 and I loved it but my next car will be a Merc.
bmw`s reliability is rated much higher these days
Canadian people are weird
You took time out of your day to say that?
Talk about weird.
Damn that interior looking dated for the past 4 years
