Thanks dudette, I’m a purple belt and took like a 7 yeah hiatus from training. Getting back into it and and getting new gis and totally forgot how it should fit.
I cold washed mine. When I tossed it in the dryer I put it on hot and dried it for 45 min. The top shrank perfect and the bottom is still long. It might take some time to shrink.
Hmm that's a tough one if everything is a little big except for the length of the sleeves. Personally I would try to shrink it a little more but you can't control exactly where the shrinking will happen. I have some baggier gi's that I stopped shrinking when it got to the length I want it to and just wear a rash guard underneath. If you're competing in the gi then the length of the sleeves matter and in that case I wouldn't shrink it any more. HOWEVER, if you over shrink the gi, I've seen articles of how you can unshrink a gi and stretch out parts of it. I've never tried but as a last resort you can try that out also. here is a link to one article sanabulsports.com/blogs/products/unshrink-your-jiu-jitsu-gi-a-super-secret-coral-belt-master-technique Hope this was helpful :)
Some companies say that Gi's can shrink from 1 to 3 inches all around. It really depends on the gi. Personally, I've tried to shrink one of my gi's down a whole size and was able to shrink the length down just fine BUT it was still a little big around my body/shoulder area. Some areas just don't shrink the way you like it to when you try to shrink it down that much.
@@LDocena hopefully I could shrink my Tatami, I ordered an F3 knowing I'm an F2, just because I'm afraid it will shrink overtime, LOL. Do you have tips on how to shrink new colored gis? Thank you also for your prompt response!
@@jamicarino4354 If you want to prevent shrinking over time, wash in cold or warm water and always hang dry! Shrink colored gi's the exact same way as my video instructs! 😊 I hope it works for you.
I haven't been very successful in convincing my girlfriends to do jiu jitsu BUT I have been able to get some to try 1 class for self defense purposes. BJJ isn't for everyone so maybe try to tell them about the self defense benefits and just try it out for one class to learn some effective self defense moves.
Wow such a nice 🥋 and cool technique on shrinking
Thank you. I'm brand new to all of this and followed the size chart. It's so big on me! Wish me luck, going to follow your process professor.
Hope it works for you! 😊
@@LDocena It did perfectly! Thanks!
first rule don't calla blue belt a professor, only a black belt had earned that title
First rule of UA-cam, don't take comments too seriously lol
Roderick Scott i think he meant professor in gi shrinking tho

So hard to find a perfect fitting gi! lol Congrats on getting back on the mats 🤙🏼
Thanks Loren, good advice since my gi is fitting too long, and the Gi turned out looking great on you!
Thanks 😊 Hope this process works for you!
Hello I'm really small too. What size kids gi did you order?

What do you think I should do if my jacket is to big by a bit but the sleeves are very wide but not long

Is it possible to shrink an F3 to F2?
