I submit that Kung Pow (2002) is the ultimate test of one's sense of humor and zest for life. If you hear someone saying “That's a lot of nuts!”, “I implore you to reconsider”, or “wee-oo-wee-oo", chances are you've found the best person you'll ever meet.

Maybe it's because the players have been so good in using them, but Longrifles do seem really strong. They really can kill anything they shoot at and only artillery out range them. I get that they're squishier than them, but they do seem like a massively superior form of blunderbusses.
The Empire player in this match is just good at protecting them. They are very squishy and only take one skirmish cav charge to rout them, they are really well balanced as you really need to protect them hard against back line swarming.
They can feel silly to play against when used well but they melt really quickly against most things and couldn't fight their way out of a horde of half-drowned skaven.
They are a powerful unit, but they're nothing unheard of or crazy. They're actually a bit weaker than crane gunners and jezzails since they lack shields and (ouside of the RoR) shieldbreaker. It's just that they play particularily well with the empire roster.
They're very similar to Coast Deck Gunners: Super low HP + model count and made of wet cardboard, but can do tons of long-range damage if you let them.
I love gunline focused matches, they are hands down one of the best things in this game. The Hochland Longriflemen seem pretty solid as a worse version of Crane Gunners/Jezails. This is probably the first time I've actually seen the Ironsides function in multiplayer, every other match they performed terrible, a welcome change of pace.
You should check out the most recent vampire coast sft stream, the second last game was a nuln ironside gunline vs greenskin rush and they actually performed pretty good, they were just overcosted before the patch.
I can imagine there are some maps and matches where the long rifles can get some insane value if the other player isn't keen. When they're in forests they're basically budget Natty Buboes.

Another game that was over in the first 5 minutes. Chorfs lost way too much way too quicky, and Empire gunpowder doesn't give two shits about shields anymore, while also being very difficult to shut down, since Empire has the best cheap heavy cav in the game that will delete skirmish cav.
I'm surprised the Empire player didn't have an engineer for the restock and also for the repeater particularly if he has a light wizard also you would get some nasty damage from him and the rest of the gun line

Hey Turin, your videos are great but even at 4k there is a soft blurriness to them, you need to check your settings and make your graphics a bit sharper please.
Someone please explain why not just deathshreek every single time. You got anti large and anti infantry, arch of fire, reliable sniping because of heat seeking missile... why take magma?
Absolute incompetence from the chaos dwarf player, what was he thinking not bringing Deathshrieks against Empire? Also he just marched up half of his chorf units to the longrifles and let them shoot him lol
Hochlands are so painfully overtuned in the empire roster. They could do to lose shieldbreaker, for my taste. They are just too effective against all targets and very low skill to use. They force the enemy player to play perfectly around them and require very little from the empire player.
Machine guns? They have a perfectly normal 11 second reload time after every shot, I'm not sure what you're on about. Unless you're talking about the Ironsides, rather than the Longrifles, but the Ironsides, whilst quite accurate, aren't a sniper unit and pay for their high rate of fire with a lower model count at the same damage as regular handgunners, reducing their damage potential per volley.

That aside, a slow reloading sniper unit wouldn't have any value in this game, people would just swap over to cannons instead. If you don't like it, play Napoleon instead but stop bitching.

I always love the empire kite builds if pulled off well, it really shows the player's great skill in mirco and how the empire differs from the dwarfs.
Really cool to see the Ironsides fill a unique role as a more-durable gunpowder unit for the Empire! Actually fought off the hobgobbo riders!

How does the tournament work? Is it a point system since you got 3rd place despite being undefeated
Lot of people, multiple players undefeated, so tiebreaker is done by how hard you defeat your opponents.
