I love the influx of land battles. I understand it's rough for competitive tournaments, but for casual ones, and random games, I think I much prefer it. It's easier to keep track of everything, and I feel a little bit more connection to the specific units (since what you have is what you have, there's no bringing in replacements or unsummoning to heal). I wish the game offered a hybrid battle-type, where it was basically land battle but with the ability to very sparingly call in reinforcements (to prevent losing to a counterbuild outright).
It just is so hard for khorne to catch that mobile shooting stuff, especially when that stuff has so much mass and abilities that give it a massive speed boost on top. I just wish they would at least give Skullcrushers a +5 in speed so they could catch such units a bit better. Heck even the new Nurgle chavalry is 75 speed, which is 13 speed faster than them...
I love the vast majority of your content but my absolute hard favourite is when you pull out Karl Franz to play. Just something about the Emperor that justs the matchs 20% cooler

7:55 Warhammer was and is at its best when it has a sense of humour about itself. The perfect balance between the grimdark and bleakness of the setting combined with the over the top nonsense and ridiculous units and situations.
Have you tried the Nuln Ironsides yet? And if so, how do they compare to regular handgunners? It seems a fairly debated topic, with them having 30 fewer models, but much increased stats.
They will beat chaos dwarf fireglavies in straight shoot out due to high accuracy and fast reload, they completely dominated streltsi, probably the best handgun units in the game if released with current stats
Seem like they're going to be no brainer in campaign but won't be very useful in mp. Since in mp you have to do a lot more repositioning and spell dodging, you won't benefit much from their ability that boosts their stats after standing still so you'd basically just be paying for extra armor on your handgunners
Each of the Chaos Gods are slated for update with each successive DLC, Tzeentch and Nurgle got theirs, I think Slaanesh is supposed to be next, sadly Khorne is last, but that does mean that when they finally do get updated, they are probably going to stomp on all of the early bloomers.
What do you mean Age of Sigmare lacks the craziness of old school Warhammer? They have a faction of steampunk flying pirates with one of their leader having guns in his moustaches and a top hat incrusted in his armour.
Turin was saying that Warhammer tends to take their craziness from real life craziness, so it seems a bit more grounded, whereas Age of Sigmar just goes full on crazy with little in the way of real world grounding.

I played this matchup on the other foot the other day and it felt like there was literally no counterplay to double boat. If you brought in stuff to chase them, you couldn't chase the rifles that were shooting your chasers. I brought in an exalted hero with the potion of toughness to chase stuff but he got laser beamed by Elspeth's breath weapon. I knew he would but figured I'd heal him up and he'd have wasted one of her breath attacks. Except he routed after taking the hit and ran completely off the battlefield even though I was healing him and he wasn't in combat. Kinda bullshit if you ask me.
I wish they went a different route, every damn combat lord has around 7000 hp and 500 WS. He would be more unique as a statesman with better army-wide support but only average duelist.

The reworked outriders look worse than before, I don't know what you see in them. They have less range now, have lower accuracy and are just as difficult to use and don't have the damage output to consider them a high-risk high-reward unit. Pistoliers for their cost would have been significantly better in this game, and that's saying a lot for all of the armor Khorne had on the field. War wagons are still going to be better, despite them receiving an accuracy, speed and armor nerf. Though the landship covers the same role now. Jury is out on Theodor as well. Between Elspeth, steam tanks and land ships the empire is going on a tight budget for another SE to deploy. -4LD is nice for leadership bombing, but if you bring him alongside Boris, it means you also need to fork over more points for a caster. Boris with burning head caster is already a very strong combo, and the extra -4LD on Theodor may not be worth the extra points. Landship looks very strong to me. I felt like Khorne had some options against it, had he deployed more minos GW and hunted the thing with Valkia. At most I foresee it being undercosted by a bit. But it could be that there's an initial shock value to the unit, and once players adapt to it it could just be balanced out of the box.
Another game, another day of the new Outriders failing to have any effect whatsoever except wasting a bunch of points. I think at this point, Pistoleers are just always better than the default Outriders. They may technically have worse ap and less range, but they can actually skirmish freely (whereas Outriders have to turn around which gives their opponents way too much time to catch up) and they just deal better damage. Outriders only ever seem to hit like a tenth of their shots and those shots basically just tickle the enemy.
I know they don’t really need it but would be cool if they added griffins to the empires base roster. The orcs now have wyverns so I feel like a griffin isn’t really out of the question, even if individually there not that good, for fluff purposes tho it does add abit.

For fluff purposes there's no way they could possibly have unridden Griffons. The Empire does not have any way of getting the beasts to cooperate without a rider, and any rider is going to be somebody important by virtue of being a rider. Also for fluff purposes, there have been times in which Orcs have used Feral, unridden Wyverns (most notably with Gorbad Ironclaw), however I do not recall a single time in which the Empire ever did the same with Griffons.

Landship and other similar single entity massive hp pool shooting platforms are silly. They don't lose effectiveness nearly as much as a cannon or wagons would, since they don't lose models and can keep shooting nonstop if you can't finish them off. And they get insane synergy from heals due to no lost models and big hp pool. Just super hard to balance IMO and super lame to play into.
Rotting leviathans are a unit on the tabletop, they're probably not going to touch them because making them into a psuedo-Land Ship would go against their original design.
Any hope for Looted Land Ships? My boy Grimgor needs a mount… We just need to rename Full Power! to The Big Red Button! and add a quick splash dirt, blood and pointy sticks…
I wish wood elf cavalry would get some buffs. Such a cool faction but most the mobile units are just so weak or expensive compared to infantry that they’re not worth bringing

It's a little hard to prove yourself worthy in combat if you shoot somebody from afar, since that only demonstrates you were too cowardly to fight them face to face and prove you are better. Even the cannons in the lore are meant to attack first, slaughter their enemies in combat, and then shoot skulls after defeating, consuming, and melting down their enemies.
Man Karl's stats are weak sauce compared to Elspeth's. Here we are begging for a HP buff so you cant mistake a terror causing duelist for a generic foot-lord, meanwhile the new lord, with death magic, has higher weapon strength, health, and melee defense than Karl Franz. Bruh
Yet she dies faster than Karl does to something like Azhag and a Feral Wyvern which she cannot outduel, and Karl can, thanks to his buffs (you didn't seem to factor those in for some reason), and that's before we consider the fact that with Elspeth you will not be healing her fully since using a Life Wizard with her is very inefficient.
@@lich109 Regardless of the importance/power of ghal maraz, stand your ground, and reikland rune fang, I think a wizard should have weaker stats than a melee lord, even if Elspeth has a dragon. I never said Elspeth can beat melee opponents that could best Franz. The stat disparity just makes me laugh is all, but it doesn't make Karl Franz weak in melee.
Karl can absolutely mess Elspeth up. I've seen her lose to an unranked lord, a wizard with no spells and the Tattersouls in a campaign battle. Dragons look big and spooky but honestly, it's just a very big target for ranged units to shoot at. Not to mention, Karl obviously gets some heavy duty combat steroids whereas Elspeth only really gets the lore of Death and her limited use life leech skill. Also, Griffons have much better animations and are way better at pushing through units where Dragons are prone to get pinned down. Of course, if you don't field the dragon (which you might not even want in every match-up), it's not even a contest, she's basically just a regular-ass wizard with a bit of ap.

Khorne really feeling like a rock bottom faction after this update. Their roster is so limited and they're not even that good in melee comparative to their cost. Sad times for the red boys.
Khorne is in such a bad place. I dont think a slaughterbrute or any missing units would even help much. Wraith/skull bringers could be cool but dono if GW is going to allow them.
Theodore Brukner, Boris Todrbinger, Bright wizard or another morale nuking lore. Toss in an "under fire" debuff from shitty archers and nothing will stay to fight. It would waste greenskins.
So, they buff Franz's HP to 6,836, as a legendary lord, yet the Sorcerer-Prophet sitting on his Bale Taurus has 8,266 HP, a pistol, a good lore of magic, and he beats Karl's ass in a 1v1. Nice Balance CA.
But again, Franz is not gonna fight the prophet alone and probably by the time franz has to fight him the bale Taurus will probably be a pincushion for the empires range units and Some spells would massively Help Franz stay in the fight too. Meanwhile, the sorcerer prophet is likely by himself with his forces tied down with the empires or getting disrupted with cavalry and steam tanks. There's a massive difference with Franz who could bring to his army compared to the sorcerer who has to carry the game on his back as if he dies the dwarfs essentially lose. But If Franz Dies it is a big blow, but not as much as it would be to the chaos dwarfs.
That's how it should be. Karl is a politician first, a general second, and a warrior third. There are matchups in which he should lose, and he definitely should not have HP on par with Chaos Dwarf lords.
@@lich109 why not? He is on a Griffon. I am not really advocating for more hp for Franz, but less for mages on mounts. No caster lord should be able to beat an equally priced melee lord in a fight. It just doesn't make sense.
@@darumanu9276 Except Elspeth isn't, Karl has massive buffs she has no access to that not only make him a way better fighter and support piece than Elspeth, but he also costs less, and he can take a Life Wizard whereas Elspeth is not going to get anywhere near her healing cap. If Karl hits his healing cap, then he's going to have way more HP in one game than she does.
God Khorne is so bad. Both blood and skull crushers should be around 200 less gold, have 70 speed and better MD. Nurgle just has better infantry even before this DLC, and now with the DLC Nurgle arguably has better cav along with one of the best magic lores. And to top it off, the mark of Khorne gives like -5 melee defence to all their mortals. Khorne could at least have better and cheaper infantry in exchange for no range and no magic.
And how much does the normal land ship cost? Because people have been here complaining about oh no, it's super overpowered. When I wonder if they're going to balance it by either it's price or if it's going to be an artillery or ap missile magnet so dwarves will be be able to defeat them quite easily. And I would say the same for the Empire against the thunderbarge as any great AP shooting should be able to deal with the barge easily. I know the hellfire volley guns certainly will take it down, Especially with the new accuracy buff from the new Lord and hero option And mercurial shot from the engineer can certainly do something. And lastly, the new gold wizard could probably also help destroy it by lowering its armor and buffing up other units to help take it down.
@@lich109 maybe they could have the bomb drops as an active ability same as the other flying gyrocopters. Because I think where they're being overpowered is them nuking the front line with unlimited bombs. So if you make it an ability when completely stopped so they'd have to choose when to use them and give infantry at least some time to dodge from big burst damage.
Press like if you cannot afford to play Warhammer Total War 3 anymore because the number of DLCs at the price they charge make playing leaderboard prohibitive.
Landship is pretty much better than toad dragon in all reguards, speed, durability, mass, damage in and out of melee...the bias of Dev's against Nurgle in it's own feature dlc is insane

Even the cannons in the lore are meant to attack first, slaughter their enemies in combat, and then shoot skulls after defeating, consuming, and melting down their enemies.

Man Karl's stats are weak sauce compared to Elspeth's. Here we are begging for a HP buff so you cant mistake a terror causing duelist for a generic foot-lord, meanwhile the new lord, with death magic, has higher weapon strength, health, and melee defense than Karl Franz. Bruh
Yet she dies faster than Karl does to something like Azhag and a Feral Wyvern which she cannot outduel, and Karl can, thanks to his buffs (you didn't seem to factor those in for some reason), and that's before we consider the fact that with Elspeth you will not be healing her fully since using a Life Wizard with her is very inefficient.
@@lich109 Regardless of the importance/power of ghal maraz, stand your ground, and reikland rune fang, I think a wizard should have weaker stats than a melee lord, even if Elspeth has a dragon. I never said Elspeth can beat melee opponents that could best Franz. The stat disparity just makes me laugh is all, but it doesn't make Karl Franz weak in melee.
Karl can absolutely mess Elspeth up. I've seen her lose to an unranked lord, a wizard with no spells and the Tattersouls in a campaign battle.
Dragons look big and spooky but honestly, it's just a very big target for ranged units to shoot at. Not to mention, Karl obviously gets some heavy duty combat steroids whereas Elspeth only really gets the lore of Death and her limited use life leech skill.
Also, Griffons have much better animations and are way better at pushing through units where Dragons are prone to get pinned down.
Of course, if you don't field the dragon (which you might not even want in every match-up), it's not even a contest, she's basically just a regular-ass wizard with a bit of ap.
@@stealthsquirrel4900 It would make no sense if she was weaker while on the dragon. The whole point is that the dragon is the one doing the fighting, and they should be very strong, because they're dragons.
Khorne really feeling like a rock bottom faction after this update. Their roster is so limited and they're not even that good in melee comparative to their cost. Sad times for the red boys.

Khorne is in such a bad place. I dont think a slaughterbrute or any missing units would even help much. Wraith/skull bringers could be cool but dono if GW is going to allow them.
Theodore Brukner, Boris Todrbinger, Bright wizard or another morale nuking lore. Toss in an "under fire" debuff from shitty archers and nothing will stay to fight. It would waste greenskins.

So, they buff Franz's HP to 6,836, as a legendary lord, yet the Sorcerer-Prophet sitting on his Bale Taurus has 8,266 HP, a pistol, a good lore of magic, and he beats Karl's ass in a 1v1. Nice Balance CA.

But again, Franz is not gonna fight the prophet alone and probably by the time franz has to fight him the bale Taurus will probably be a pincushion for the empires range units and Some spells would massively Help Franz stay in the fight too. Meanwhile, the sorcerer prophet is likely by himself with his forces tied down with the empires or getting disrupted with cavalry and steam tanks. There's a massive difference with Franz who could bring to his army compared to the sorcerer who has to carry the game on his back as if he dies the dwarfs essentially lose. But If Franz Dies it is a big blow, but not as much as it would be to the chaos dwarfs.
That's how it should be. Karl is a politician first, a general second, and a warrior third. There are matchups in which he should lose, and he definitely should not have HP on par with Chaos Dwarf lords.

I am not really advocating for more hp for Franz, but less for mages on mounts.
No caster lord should be able to beat an equally priced melee lord in a fight. It just doesn't make sense.

@@darumanu9276 Except Elspeth isn't, Karl has massive buffs she has no access to that not only make him a way better fighter and support piece than Elspeth, but he also costs less, and he can take a Life Wizard whereas Elspeth is not going to get anywhere near her healing cap. If Karl hits his healing cap, then he's going to have way more HP in one game than she does.
God Khorne is so bad. Both blood and skull crushers should be around 200 less gold, have 70 speed and better MD. Nurgle just has better infantry even before this DLC, and now with the DLC Nurgle arguably has better cav along with one of the best magic lores. And to top it off, the mark of Khorne gives like -5 melee defence to all their mortals. Khorne could at least have better and cheaper infantry in exchange for no range and no magic.
And how much does the normal land ship cost? Because people have been here complaining about oh no, it's super overpowered. When I wonder if they're going to balance it by either it's price or if it's going to be an artillery or ap missile magnet so dwarves will be be able to defeat them quite easily. And I would say the same for the Empire against the thunderbarge as any great AP shooting should be able to deal with the barge easily. I know the hellfire volley guns certainly will take it down, Especially with the new accuracy buff from the new Lord and hero option And mercurial shot from the engineer can certainly do something. And lastly, the new gold wizard could probably also help destroy it by lowering its armor and buffing up other units to help take it down.
Land Ship is fine, it's the air ship that's overpowered.
@@lich109 maybe they could have the bomb drops as an active ability same as the other flying gyrocopters. Because I think where they're being overpowered is them nuking the front line with unlimited bombs. So if you make it an ability when completely stopped so they'd have to choose when to use them and give infantry at least some time to dodge from big burst damage.

Press like if you cannot afford to play Warhammer Total War 3 anymore because the number of DLCs at the price they charge make playing leaderboard prohibitive.
Landship is pretty much better than toad dragon in all reguards, speed, durability, mass, damage in and out of melee...the bias of Dev's against Nurgle in it's own feature dlc is insane

The only thing broken in the new content is the Thunderbarge, everything else is great.
