Thank you for the absolutely perfect video on programming. I am going to install and program PLPRO for an enclosed pool which will operate during winter. This has a SuperPump SE (non VS). I understand it has to be connected through a high voltage relay. In this situation how do I increase flow rate when heater need to start etc? Will the system by default stop and re-start the pump to get to the highest speed programmed in the pump memory? Or is it better to replace the pump with a VS in order to lower frreeze risk during winter, from Flow error in heater. Thank you in advance.
Do you mean XE pump? Ive had that issue before they wont work well its a major headache shame on Heyward. I even took one apart to try and make it single speed no luck everything is sunk in tamper proof glue.
Your video is amazing. I was able to program our Omni and it is working wonderfully. The issue we are having is when we I added our suction cleaner (Barracuda) and the spillover the pump sounds like it goes on and off from a high rpm to a low rpm . It does it all the time. I ended up removing the cleaner and the spillover from the Omni to avoid the issue and make sure our new Hayward 950 VSP pump does not go bad. Our cleaner shares a valve with the skimmer. Any suggestions to fix the issue?
hello. great video one question. if theres an extra pump for a water fall where should i program it . under pool , or interlock with filter pump? thank you
No quick question, I’ll be doing an install soon. Wanted to know as far as the control wires from variable pump, heaters, actuators ,ect, was there a length that comes with units and if short getting to omni panel what is the best way to extend them?
This video was great,. Installation was smooth sailing. Fired everything up, no hiccups. However, hit a snag when configuring the system. When it comes to selecting relays, I'm faced with an empty list. Even when I reach the part for choosing the salt generator, it's drawing a blank. Any ideas on what I might be missing here?
Great video, we are just having a little trouble with install. Is there any troubleshooting materials for when the omni PL is not sensing the relay to the pump/lights? Appreciate any response, thanks!
Question real quick I have a customer that has one of these systems and he also has an actuator for some sconces. However, all of a sudden they don’t show up on any of the programming screens I go into the service menu where I see all four valve options if I hit valve three it turns the actuator, but I don’t see any place. Do I have to reprogram the whole system Remedy this Omni system control the three speeds for Tri-Star XE pump just by selecting variable speed pump and set the outputs to the three outputs at the TriStar has
I have several lights but only two of them allow omni direct mode. I get an error for the others telling me to connect the relays differently. Any suggestions why getting this message as all lights where installed same time.
Got this OmniPL retrofit kit and installed it on my ProLogic panel and everything works great except the lights… when I turn them on they turn on for about 10 seconds then they turn off and stay off. I tried different shows, fixed lights, modes (UCL, CL 4.0 etc) and it does the same thing. What could be causing this? I followed the instructions to a T. Also, when the lights turn on they always turn on to a dark violet/pink color and nothing else, I hit red, blue, green, white and none work… only the violet/pink color. Also, my lights are ColorLogic 4.0. 2 pool lights and 2 spa lights, appear to be all wired to the same relay. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
, HI, can you answer a question for me please? I have the hayward colorlogic 4.0 lights 2 of them, one at each end of pool. I have the aquaplus controller , it controls my lights now, in the omniPL instructions it says (If the control is using networked colorlogic lights, the lights must be put into "standalone(default) mode before disconnecting the control). Or do you know if i would have to do this? Been looking everywhere. Oh by the way nice video, thanks for doing this. helped out alot!!
If the pool & spa share a pump, filter, and WATER, why would you consider that two bodies of water? I don't understand what the benefits of programming two bodies of water are. You mentioned conflicting information being fed to the Omni, what about when freeze protection is active?
It is so you can go between pool mod and spa mode or even spill over mode to connect the two bodies of water. It’s like having two sets of pumps and filters but using valves instead.
The reason you have to set it as two bodies of water is really just the logic in the system that turns your suction and return valve actuators to rotate from pool mode to spa mode. In freeze protection the valves rotate every (I think) 15 minutes so that the water continues to move in both the pool and spa.
How do I change freeze mode temp? Its currently set at 40 degrees and I can't control the heater to the spa if outside temp is below 40 degrees. Is there a way to only adjust the heater temp to 34 or 36 degrees?
Hey guys , I can not for the life of me get the colorlogic 320 lights to work with omnidirect. They just keep working in regular ucl mode. They are the newer version but not the networked ones. Do I have them wired wrong? I can’t find info anywhere on wiring. The hv relay is wired to the transformer which then goes to the the lights.
You will need to go into the configuration wizard to set the lights to Omnidirect mode. Here is the path - config wizard > edit > bodies of water > pool > stand-alone lights > (select your light) > omnidirect. The system will test for Omnidirect capability. If they are newer lights and have the functionality the lights will flash from red to white. The system will prompt you to set the lights to Omnidirect mode. Hope this helps.
@@TylerAndPatrickKnowBest that’s what I did a few times and still nothing unfortunately. It may be because I don’t have a snubber capacitor connected. I’ve ordered one and will try that.
Who in the right mind uses a screwdriver to manipulate any kind of touchscreen, if you just installed the system at my home and I saw you doing that to my new touchscreen 🤬
I use a small technical screwdriver to manipulate the Omni touch screen and I feel as if I am in the right mind. That being said, if I was not in the right mind I would likely be oblivious to that fact. Either way, thankfully, I am not performing any work for you.
@@TylerAndPatrickKnowBest In the Mohs scale plastic is typically 2-3, while a screwdriver's metal (steel) is likely 4-6. One number higher and it will scratch a little, two numbers higher and it scratches a lot. You're effectively slowly damaging the screen by using the screwdriver. The harder you press and the smaller the surface area (a point vs something flat), the faster you damage it. You'd probably be safe with a pointer made from plastic or rubber and not much else other than your fingers.

If you are in the US call hot dog pools in Columbia SC we can get you the Heyward Pump you need.
@@TylerAndPatrickKnowBest Sorry, Yes. XE. What will be the right VS pump model to replace this?
