Do you guys know the process for wiring a boiler system and heat exchanger for the source of heat. Thanks for the overview, very helpful troubleshooting and reinforcing my knowledge of the system
screw driver vs touch screen ?????????????????????? !!!!!!!!!!

Great tutorial. Interested in doing the same thing as I have an OmniPL. Why not just use the LVR on OmniPL to power the valve?
Argh!!! The screwdriver on the screen is so annoying! I would be furious if my builder was using a screwdriver to touch that plastic screen.

Thanks so much. This video helped me clean the filters and get rid of my squeal noise! Thanks!
Question real quick I have a customer that has one of these systems and he also has an actuator for some sconces. However, all of a sudden they don’t show up on any of the programming screens I go into the service menu where I see all four valve options if I hit valve three it turns the actuator, but I don’t see any place. Do I have to reprogram the whole system Remedy this Omni system control the three speeds for Tri-Star XE pump just by selecting variable speed pump and set the outputs to the three outputs at the TriStar has

I have several lights but only two of them allow omni direct mode. I get an error for the others telling me to connect the relays differently. Any suggestions why getting this message as all lights where installed same time.

For an existing pool setup, how do I change the filter speed to 80 percent as shown in video to help with low flow spa issues with heater?
My Omni automation valves quit working. I can't swap from pool mode to spa mode. And the valve will not move with the switch under the actuator either. Seems like there is a bad fuse or no power.
Good video, minus the screwdriver 🪛

Great video thx
What would happen if you selected the wrong chlorinator and ran it like that for a while? Would it have caused any damage?
What might happen if you had the wrong chlorinator selected and ran it like that for a long time? Would it damage anything?
This video was great,. Installation was smooth sailing. Fired everything up, no hiccups. However, hit a snag when configuring the system. When it comes to selecting relays, I'm faced with an empty list. Even when I reach the part for choosing the salt generator, it's drawing a blank. Any ideas on what I might be missing here?
How often do you clean this filter?
planning to do this with my pool. any issues with the valve not closing fully? someone said that irrigation valves wont close if there's any pressure downstream. with the water tied into the supply side there will be pressure any time the pump runs. can i tie into the suction side instead?
Never had this problem, from what I understand is that as long as the pressure is lower it will close. If this were the case the valve would never turn off in normal irrigation applications.
I would not tie it into the suction side this could cause the valve to open.
Thank you
Got this OmniPL retrofit kit and installed it on my ProLogic panel and everything works great except the lights… when I turn them on they turn on for about 10 seconds then they turn off and stay off. I tried different shows, fixed lights, modes (UCL, CL 4.0 etc) and it does the same thing. What could be causing this? I followed the instructions to a T. Also, when the lights turn on they always turn on to a dark violet/pink color and nothing else, I hit red, blue, green, white and none work… only the violet/pink color. Also, my lights are ColorLogic 4.0. 2 pool lights and 2 spa lights, appear to be all wired to the same relay. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Have the same issue! Looking for help as well
Excellent video!!!
I purchased 3 Hayward colorlogic lights with 2 step down transformers for 12v. Can you tell me where i would plug these into the Omni PL>
Hi Tyler. Thank you very much for this great video. I just purchased 2 variable speed pumps. One is a 2.7 Trystar VS 950 for the pool that I can connect to the OmniLogic to the 4 PIN connectors via the communication cable. The other one is a Superpump XE for the waterfall (also a variable speed pump) but I was told that I have to connect it to the high voltage relay because it does not have the option to connect it to the Omni via a communication cable. Basically, although it is a variable speed pump, I can only turn it ON and OFF with the Omni but I cannot control the speed. Is this correct? Thank you in advance for taking time in answering my question. Fernando
That is correct. The XE pump gets wired to a high voltage relay to only turn on and off.
Hey guys , I can not for the life of me get the colorlogic 320 lights to work with omnidirect. They just keep working in regular ucl mode. They are the newer version but not the networked ones. Do I have them wired wrong? I can’t find info anywhere on wiring. The hv relay is wired to the transformer which then goes to the the lights.
You will need to go into the configuration wizard to set the lights to Omnidirect mode. Here is the path - config wizard > edit > bodies of water > pool > stand-alone lights > (select your light) > omnidirect. The system will test for Omnidirect capability. If they are newer lights and have the functionality the lights will flash from red to white. The system will prompt you to set the lights to Omnidirect mode. Hope this helps.
@@TylerAndPatrickKnowBest that’s what I did a few times and still nothing unfortunately. It may be because I don’t have a snubber capacitor connected. I’ve ordered one and will try that.
I have this unit and since nearly day one I am getting an "MSP_DEV_COMM_LOSS, Comm Loss Device: blah blah blah HUA:MP" error which results in things on the HVRs like the blower and lights turning off and being unable to turn back on. As far as I can tell, all the other functions work still, like turning pumps on and off, as well as the chlorinator. Firmware is up to date. Hayward was unhelpful and told me to find a service tech in my area using their search tool, but I've tried many and nobody ever responds.
Thanks for the info. What about wiring a 2-speed pump motor?
Great video thank you! Question: I do not think you show were the communication cables are. Can you elaborate? Those needed to operate VS pump and heater, since they go directly to the breakers
This is so badass. I just got a pool on my route with this system. Great resource
How do I change freeze mode temp? Its currently set at 40 degrees and I can't control the heater to the spa if outside temp is below 40 degrees. Is there a way to only adjust the heater temp to 34 or 36 degrees?
Here is the path to change freeze protect temperature. Config wizard > edit > bodies of water > pool > filter pump > freeze protect. Hope this helps
Great video, we are just having a little trouble with install. Is there any troubleshooting materials for when the omni PL is not sensing the relay to the pump/lights? Appreciate any response, thanks!
Sounds like the relay is not programed correctly. my email is Dimigdigs@gmail.com we can set up a phone call this week! Thanks
Good info! Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Hayward states not to use lube on band clamp o ring
@@kenbohn5829 Probably because some lubricants are petroleum-based and breakdown, plastics and rubbers..
If the pool & spa share a pump, filter, and WATER, why would you consider that two bodies of water? I don't understand what the benefits of programming two bodies of water are. You mentioned conflicting information being fed to the Omni, what about when freeze protection is active?
It is so you can go between pool mod and spa mode or even spill over mode to connect the two bodies of water. It’s like having two sets of pumps and filters but using valves instead.
The reason you have to set it as two bodies of water is really just the logic in the system that turns your suction and return valve actuators to rotate from pool mode to spa mode. In freeze protection the valves rotate every (I think) 15 minutes so that the water continues to move in both the pool and spa.
Thanks so much for your help. Your last statement about not hooking the Heater to the HVR fixed my issue. My electrician did not know what he was doing and did not wire up my pool equipment properly for it to work with the OmniPL. I could not get it to turn on/off or adjust temperature using the app. I figured out how to put the heater in Bypass Operations mode, but it still was not working. Once I rewired the heater straight to the circuit breaker and adjusted my setting to use the LV1 relay rather than the HVR1, it worked like a champ. Thanks so much!!
Hey George, could you elaborate a little more. I am having the same issue we have the heater wired into LV1, and we can turn it on or off, but I have no control over the temperature any help would be greatly appreciated!
@@Norman101tank I think your issue is that the high voltage to power the heater is tied into a high voltage relay (HVR1). The 120/240 voltage to supply main power to the heater needs to tie in directly to the circuit breaker so it is always powered on. Then there is a separate low voltage circuit on the heater that needs to be tied into the green block on the left side of the circuit board labeled LV1. If that part is done correctly you need to put the heater in ‘bo’ mode so it is a slave to the Omni
Who in the right mind uses a screwdriver to manipulate any kind of touchscreen, if you just installed the system at my home and I saw you doing that to my new touchscreen 🤬
I use a small technical screwdriver to manipulate the Omni touch screen and I feel as if I am in the right mind. That being said, if I was not in the right mind I would likely be oblivious to that fact. Either way, thankfully, I am not performing any work for you.
@@TylerAndPatrickKnowBest In the Mohs scale plastic is typically 2-3, while a screwdriver's metal (steel) is likely 4-6. One number higher and it will scratch a little, two numbers higher and it scratches a lot. You're effectively slowly damaging the screen by using the screwdriver. The harder you press and the smaller the surface area (a point vs something flat), the faster you damage it. You'd probably be safe with a pointer made from plastic or rubber and not much else other than your fingers.

On my pl ps 8 it shows hooking a 2 speed pump up across 2 relays vs directly to the circuit breaker? Also shows going from one relay to vs pump not directly to the breaker ? Can yo advise on that thx
great video. Question...where can I buy the green buss logic connectors for the OmniPL system? I need them to utilize the heater contacts & temp sensor inputs.

Your video is amazing. I was able to program our Omni and it is working wonderfully. The issue we are having is when we I added our suction cleaner (Barracuda) and the spillover the pump sounds like it goes on and off from a high rpm to a low rpm . It does it all the time. I ended up removing the cleaner and the spillover from the Omni to avoid the issue and make sure our new Hayward 950 VSP pump does not go bad. Our cleaner shares a valve with the skimmer. Any suggestions to fix the issue?
Thanks. The video was very easy to follow and I was able to clean my filters without any issues.
I really appreciate this video. It’s been very helpful for me twice now. Is it unusual after cleaning the filters for your pressure to read exactly the same? I definitely knocked quite a bit of dirt and sediment off, but I’m reading 20psi before and after.
, HI, can you answer a question for me please? I have the hayward colorlogic 4.0 lights 2 of them, one at each end of pool. I have the aquaplus controller , it controls my lights now, in the omniPL instructions it says (If the control is using networked colorlogic lights, the lights must be put into "standalone(default) mode before disconnecting the control). Or do you know if i would have to do this? Been looking everywhere. Oh by the way nice video, thanks for doing this. helped out alot!!
Same question here…
Maybe you can help me with this question please..i have the hayward color logic 4.0 lights(2- just in pool) , i have the aquaplus controler , it controls my lights, in instructions for omniPL , it says in instructions for omniPL if using networked color logic lights, lights must be put into "standalone(default) mode before disconnecting the control. Do i need to do this? if you could help it would be great..thanks again!!!
hello. great video one question. if theres an extra pump for a water fall where should i program it . under pool , or interlock with filter pump? thank you
Also would you know i have a hayward VS pump about 8 years old, Model #SP3202VSPND connected to my aqua plus now, will this be campatible with the OMNI PL? will it reconize it ? thanks again
great video thanks going to upgrade mine! Only thing is i have an Aqua plus and my transformer has more wires than the one you are showing there, can you show an aqua plus change out to the Omni PL , if not can you tell me if i need all the other wires on my transformer? thank you.
Thank you! I have a new pool and have never completed the maintenance on my C430 filter. This was very helpful. Great video!
No quick question, I’ll be doing an install soon. Wanted to know as far as the control wires from variable pump, heaters, actuators ,ect, was there a length that comes with units and if short getting to omni panel what is the best way to extend them?
