  • Fabulously gooey, satisfyingly vintage and full of fun time - that is the Chroma Console. In this video I take you through the pedal with a chunk of modular and a bit of guitar. Probably the most fun I've had making a video in ages - it's proper good. And just so you know - Hologram sent me the Chroma Console for review but has no say over the content of this video.

Great voice for synth tutorials, best dang shirts in the modular community, and yes, a dandy pedal review! Winning formula for a video 👌

Oh man, I want one of these. I love the simplicity and the musicality of the interface, and honestly, watching the expression on your on your face jamming out with it at the end of the video… that’s what it’s all about. Making music should be fun and inspiring. They nailed it with this.

It’s a great little machine. I used one live recently as my only external fx - so much easier than chaining loads of pedals. It’s well worth trying out the MIDI even if it’s just for clocking the delay.

I get it that you don't like the hospital vibe from the white. But what if you think old kitchen appliances instead? works for me on the 4ms modules at least

57:37 onward - Truly Masterful Guitarbation. As the Nimmo Brothers eloquently stated........Norfolk Enchants.

The IBM/medical palette is very Hologram, and I like it - maybe they will do a blacked-out run like the Microcosm. The MIDI control is fantastic, via NerdSEQ.

LOL vintage medical! Exactly the vibe that concerned me about that hipster boutique Monotron!

I think the colour pallet of these pedals is reminiscent of 1970s\1980s Sci Fi TV shows like UFO and Space 1999. Future Retro style

I like this in the same way I like the Meris Polymoon. It's awesome, but the UX looks like it's deliberately bad. They even use those same ridiculous hard sharp nubby little buttons, and you are required to press them constantly to step through values. And I'm way too colorblind to deal with the insane effect selection. But I mean it's clever.
28:44 OMG it summoned R2-D2! Now I definitely need one. I wish '90s synth expansions had fewer scratch menus and more sci-fi robot noise menus. I’m gonna do a kickstarter where I burn Buck Rogers noises into SR-JV80 boards and chrome plate some JV-1010s and we just throw together some config templates for the Elgato Stream Deck. So then you’ve got an awesome interface where you’re pushing much better buttons and you’ve got pictures of robots and Gil Gerard and Princess Ardalla and that eagle guy. The nerds will like that even more than a Vintage Medical Beige pedal!

I don’t want this. Too simple and I’ll hit its limits quickly…[watches video]…Where can I get one in the uk?!?
This does look a lot of fun.

It’s over there. Thought it would be useful to have different sounds.
