Both the Sally Roony books mentioned has TV show. Normal People is one of the best TV show I have seen so far.
Factual. I saw this in 12th std where i couldn't be furthur away from the idea of love and romance as it was such an overwhelming time for me, i still carry bits and pieces of its story in my heart.
Again, Call Me By Your Name as a book/movie should NOT be glorified. Elio was SEVENTEEN. It was not love, it was grooming- plain and simple. About time we realise the power dynamics that come into play with age difference.

I too love Conversation with Friends more than Normal People, although the Normal People TV show is the better one comparatively. In my opinion, Beautiful World, Where Are You is her best book yet- very relatable for us in our 30s. Intermezzo is on top of my TBR now!

Everyone (including me) doesn't like normal people for "personal reasons" . Someone really spoilt it for me
Happy All the Time by Laurie Colwin is also a wholesome book on love, courtship and marriage. It's funny and witty. Took me out of the reading slump.

Colleen Hoover ruined a generation of readers. Good for you,you didnt like her book. Toxic relationships, unwanted smuts and cheesy and terrible writing. I still dont understand how some people enjoy her works.

I keep thinking, what am I missing with Sally Rooney? Then I realised her books are incomplete. She will add bits of woke to her "dialogue" and she tries really hard to get into the sense of "simple profound" in her writing. But she only writes about the, in a rather non-contextual way, snippets of everyone who went to Trinity College, Dublin. She wants to explore sexualities and forms of relationships in her books but becomes a hindrance to her own plot by, and sometimes unnecessarily so, trying to make everything "multifaceted and complicated."
