- Sugar/sweet cravings? Carbohydrates stimulate the release of the feel-good brain chemical serotonin. Sugar is a carbohydrate, but carbohydrates come in other forms, too, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, which have fiber and nutrients your body needs. Sweets just taste good, too. And that preference gets reinforced when you reward yourself with sweet treats, which can make you crave it even more. With all that going for it, why wouldn’t we crave sugar? The problem comes not when we indulge in a sweet treat now and then, but when we overdo it. That’s easy to do when sugar is added to many processed foods, including breads, yogurt, juices, and sauces.

Moderation. Certain cultures naturally eat fruits and vegetables compared to the US, so for them it is second nature.
There is a way to slow down the cadence of the speaker. I heard there is way to do that & helps.

@N0Pride if you're craving more sweets after cutting them out it means your body is looking for an energy source. Eat more protein and fats to feel full. If you have to reach for something sweet go for fruits or baked sweet potatoes. I'm guessing you're still a kid though, so it'll be hard to control what you eat if your parents are in charge of buying groceries.

So true, i usually tend to crave a lot of sweets. I started taking fruits in the morning, and my sugar craving throughout the day has considerably reduced, and I don’t feel like having a slice of cake even if it’s in front of me

Even I have a bowl of fruit in the morning. Mostly papaya or watermelon. 1 fruit type at a time.
A diet from years ago was called Get Fit I think. It said to always eat your fruit in the morning, one at a time with nothing else.
So you could eat as much fruit as you want with 20 minutes in between.
So grapes, 20 minutes later, some mango, 20 minutes later some pineapple.
Then in the afternoon you eat some carbohydrates and in the evening you eat your protein.
You never mix the protein with the carbs.
It really worked well. I never felt better and wow it got everything moving in the morning. 😅🎉❤

My husband works were there's a wonderful Cafe` & he buys a meal ticket that's good for the day. At first he gained weight with so many great choices. I encouraged him to add veggies & fruit each time he ate. He's lost 8 lbs & only takes a dessert if it's really one of his favorites. 😊

I used to have 1-2 cookies almost daily and was never able to get rid of it.... Eating blackberries helped curb my sugar cravings. US supermarkets are so full of bakery items...it's like a vicious cycle - you eat one and your body craves for another. Thanks to you I have been able to control myself and bring frequency down to once in a month.

Same here, but I have understood some people just CAN'T.
Dont feed the bad bacteria sugar, bad carbs or fruit (fructose) as they multiply and will make you very sick. Best thing is to kill them off. I fasted & ate 2 cloves of garlic + oregano oil for 2 days. Lost 10 lbs, got rid of them. Then took probiotics & eat good healthy food. Now I am no longer diabetic, and i am no longer in pain. I no longer use perscription medications.
Dates are also addictive to me.... if I eat one I eat 5 or 6 or 7 or 10
And I suspect that their glycemic index is not low
A diabetic cant eat that food (Bananas and dates) as snack also since that spikes up their sugar levels. Half banana is fine

You have to change your taste buds by drinking fresh lemon/lime water or just fresh lemons as your first drink in the morning before eating anything. Always drink out of a straw because of the acidity in lemons/limes to avoid harming your teeth. Do this daily and make sure you keep fresh fruits and frozen fruits in the refrigerator. This works so well to reduce those sugar cravings.

@@jow6845 Ok great! Of course you will crave sugar but this is why you keep fresh fruits and frozen fruits for smoothies in the refrigerator. This is what you grab when those cravings come and the fresh lemon/lime water daily really helps. You also have to practice self control. It's all a mind game! Keep it up! Don't give up! I can be 'good', do without sugar for a time 'cravings' remain despite exercise, it's a battle. I might require hypnosis! 🌿

I remember when I ate mostly raw for 9m that I never craved any cake/biscuits/sweets etc my diet consisted of fruit all day and a large salad with a jacket potato every evening. I felt amazing & my blood work was excellent so I have to say I agree with this.
Minimum 500 MG of vit c will eliminate most sugar craving. Eating processed sweets increases craving.

Umm..not in my case. I've taken 1000 mg daily of vitamin C for YEARS. STILL love and crave sweets. 🙁

Finally I got proper information when I am having a craving I feel like eating sweets. Now I got how to reduce it properly ❤
As a diabetic, it is hard to know. Sweet cravings are always a problem. However, I have noticed that when I eat fruit, I do feel good. I don't keep craving sweets.
Look into intermittent fasting, healthy keto diet and Super Berberine also called Dihydroberberine for diabetes.
Glucose Revolution is the book for ya. Life changing and no dieting involved!

I would say Raw Food propaganda is a good book. and Herbert Shelton. Keto is not a diet its a backup fuel because you've decided fruits have too much sugar

This is absolutely right. I have type 2 diabetes and I get strong sugar cravings an hour or so post lunch. I try to eat fruit and it really helps. 👍
You should also go for a 15-20 min walk after eating. When you finish your walk, your sugar craving will be gone.

You need to address the issue of parasites in people's bodies. This is another reason for craving of sweets. Everyone has parasites and you need to do a cleanse to get rid of them. A cleanse will also help with other issues that you might have. Thank you for your information also. 😊

HEYYY i unintentionally did this to myself!i always wondered at some point i started to stop liking sugar and even actively say no to them. When i was getting into fitness i started restraining myself and instead of snacking on junk foods i snacked on fruits and nuts. Glad to know why it is now Doc love your vids

People also crave sugar because it is pleasant to the taste buds and it suits emotional deprivation of something else one may actually want. It is not just because there are bad bacteria in one's gut.
It’s still the push from the bacteria there are many people who don’t crave sugar. But yes, we can use it for emotional or com as well.

I’m 12 and I stopped craving sweet or even if I got offered sweet in an annual function or a festival I ate half of it, I stopped eating like whole of the sweet, it helped me a lot and now I am more immune to common fevers and all stuff. Your tips helped me thanks :)
I’m glad you don’t crave sugar anymore. I currently can’t avoid eating them. If I do, the next day I eat 2x and even 3x than before. I would like to try the method with a fruit in the morning, but if I want a biscuit, I want a biscuit, not apple, orange, and others. That’s my problem, but I’ll try.

You can eat dates instead of sweets.
Maybe have a doctor check if you have a build up of candida. That can cause cravings and bloat and other tummy troubles.
Hope you get your health back as soon as possible.

I was suffering with this sugar craving since my chaildhood.. recently I pledge my self to eat fruits for 3 days.. after that I lost SUGAR CRAVING.. now I am Happy without taking SUGAR products.. I’m 62. Vegan for 7 years. High fruit. I don’t crave cookie, pies, candy, cakes, etc. anymore. Apparently my spies did their job well. 👀😃
@rozchristopherson648 That’s great! Maybe you are feeding your gut bacteria with just the right amount of sweetness from the fruit. There are lots of junk food vegans out there who eat processed foods/snacks, so we know they still crave sugary stuff. I like desserts, but I don’t always crave them. Sometimes I like healthier options.

Can confirm. I wanted to improve my gut health, I wasn't even aware of my sweet tooth. After adding kefir and fermented veggies in my diet (improves good gut bacterias), my sugar and carbs cravings are gone. I wasn't even trying to stop sugar cravings but it's just side effects I noticed.
Haven't eaten ice cream or sweet for last 2 years.

What can we eat at night to reduce sugar cravings
Have a small bowl of plain Greek yogurt or skyr with berries for dessert. Sprinkle on some hemp seeds or crushed nuts and Ceylon cinnamon if you like.

@@emh8861 that's excellent advice as well, eating pickled foods helps to curb my cravings. Or chewing some minty gum, brushing my teeth, drinking tart lemonade or ACV in water, or psyllium powder in water. I guess there are several things that we can do, I just need to actually use those tricks instead of giving in to cravings.

Fruits spike my sugar except for berries I can occasionally get away with. If it's spiking my sugar my insulin is also up. Plus many people become fruit addicts for a reason. It's addictive like sugar , with All that said yes it's somewhat better then plain sugar.

You need to eat protein and fat when you are having carb cravings. That's what changes the gut bacteria. Kills off the sugar stimulating ones.
You do not give an ex drug addict a "low amount of their favorite drug" to keep them from craving it.

@@osamedennadi6309 Fruits are bad in general. They're full of fructose sugar. You need to eat a high fat (good fat, like grass-fed ghee, organic coconut oil, grass-fed tallow, etc) and protein diet. This will satiate you keeping you too full for any sweets. In time, these bad bacteria will die off along with candida. Probiotics should be taken as well.
Thank you Badger, & Anusha, you are smarter than the "Dr". But he makes $$ when you are sick...Fruits hav sugar, Fructose. Best thing is to kill the bad bacteria bc they cause cancer, autoimmune conditions, high cholesterol, Insulin Resistance (diabetes) & more. Even vegies feed them. I got very sick & then decided to kill them off. I lost weight, no longer diabetic, no more pain & not taking any medications. Do not feed those bad bacteria!!!
