By far the thing I enjoy about Biffas videos is his attention to detail, since I started watching his videos I’ve been getting more creative with the worlds I build. Keep up the good stuff Biffa!
That cargo station and the new road could be swapped and it would just work without those unrealistic under and overpasses. However, it would require the road to loop around... there must be at some point a mod that mirrors all the assets (like Timberborn does natively), it's very annoying not to be able to put things on the side of the road we want.
20:35 Zoning tool. Instead of rebuilding the road, just click the update button twice within the tool to "turn it off and on" again. That will enable the zoning tool again and you can update the zoning from there. Love your videos!
It is a pleasure to watch your new video as your subscriber! May I give you a small, minor suggestion? 34:30 There is 2 roads which connects from old city to the new city(Autumn Meadows district). One is the highway connection and the other is Woodland Glen - Autumn Meadows connection road. Because of this structure, people from Bedford Bluff, Thornton Acres, Franklin Fields, Shepherd Ridge, Woodland Glen, Hawthorne Junction, and the newly made residentual area in 17:00 have to use Woodland Glen - Autumn Meadows road to get Autumn Meadows Area. Even though you solved the traffic issue in 11:30 and 40:40, the road structure may cause traffic issue again. My suggestion is to build 6 lane road(2 BRT lane on the middle or both end) that connects Bedford Bluff/Thornton Acres to Autumn Area, and operation a bus route which include the newly built road.
You don't even need to reload the save. The stadium roofs reappeared when you zoomed out, and went a few meters away. We literally WATCHED it spawn back in.
28:29 “hopefully that’s everybody and I haven’t missed anyone” as his mouse hovers over a large section of housing he hasn’t included in any district yet 😂
Biffa should avoid laying tracks altogether, as the gradients and curves he uses would not only be impossible to manage , but they also look bad. It doesn't fit with the look he usually achieves through decorations and attention to detail.
@18:38 make another direct connection in front of the school, possibly make it the pedestrian road (not path). That makes it much easier for kids to walk to school. The strange double junction up north left could just be a roundabout.
Biffa Love the way your city is coming along and looking which is nothing short of amazing. It also confirms what I have said about you in the past which is that you are a true master to this game and we are lucky to have you sharing your content with us. In addition, I have a slight suggestion to make to you that you might want to consider since it would help with your traffic flow in the city. I noticed that you don't use one-way roads that much and I found through my city builds that access to certain areas like train yards, garbage collection areas and some industry zones that a one-way road is far better to force flow the traffic as opposed to using a standard road. This is something you might want to consider exploring and doing.
Honestly amazing again, great to see the city growing and that you are using those awesome assets from those wonderful people making them for the community to make our cities seem so much more realistic and engaging. Also you'll need to put in a new district for the two residential neighborhoods that you put in as they are not marked out which will probably lead to so unwanted notifications
The “Wiggly Wiggly” vehicles, especially the trucks make me think about my dog when she gets really excited/happy and instead of just wagging her tail, her whole body wags (i.e “is that a dog wagging its tail or a tail wagging its dog?”)………… soooo, maybe the vehicles are just happy/ excited to have better lane management….
I think you should make a bus line between the railway station near the stadium, to the downtown district, with a roundabout at the station terminus so buses can freely turnaround with ease.
pro tip with the line tool, you can just do a single line over the roads, with anarchy off, it will place the trees that aren't in red, so you should be able to do just one line instead of a line per block :)
The "Architect's Mansion" gave me an idea. Is there a way to build custom parks in C:S 2, or is that supposed to come in a DLC? I was thinking that it could be fun to build a public park around the Architect's Mansion, to make it look like a kind of museum. I know the Mansion is a residential building, but IRL it's not unheard of to turn the home of a well known architect into a museum posthumously. Building a park with several displays of public art around it could be a way to simulate that, and it would increase the wellbeing of the surrounding area even more.
I really enjoyed this, I've been watching a lot of your content to improve at Cities Skyline 2 myself! One small point, I'm not sure traffic coming off of Pine Street can turn left, they can go straight or use the slip road to turn right, which might be why they were doing all of those U-Turns. Not sure if that's intentional!
Biffa, if you want all the weird road wigglies explained, look up Bezier Curves, Splines, or the Pen Tool in Photoshop/GIMP. The handles are being shown in a pale white empty circle that (I assume) are draggable as handles to have *ultimate* control of where the road is. You expressed confusion in the last video (of this series), but you did again in this one (5:17), so, uh, just letting you know.
Yay, more to watch! Just - finally - got the game myself and girl, does it feel like I'm learning to walk 🤭 I'll get the handle of it eventually but it's been so long since I last played... I think your new housing estate doesn't have an area over it or at least the hearses aren't assigned to it? Obviously commenting before I finish watching so you might have already noticed 🤦♀️
15:28 Note: removing unsafe on this junction gets rid of the lane connection into the extra lane (which may cause some horky borky lane switching), so be careful.
If there are any other signals or roundabouts on main roads that have lots of traffic, you can make an underpass or flyover for a road and make a signal or roundabout for the left and right turns.
It sucks that my city is almost unplayable at 240,000 population, probably gonna have to start a new one :(. At least I have some nice inspiration to go off now :)) Great video
@@christophesiewecke9208 Slowly getting better and better. No one could run 100k on release, now some people are running 350-400k. Early next year maybe someone will share a video of a 1 million pop city :)
I hope you soon will make a metro system. Connect to the train station and between birch cities. There are way too many passengers at the newest train stations for the bus to handle. A metro is in place Ⓜ️🚇
Fix the no pedestrian access signs by using moveit and raising or lowering the building 1 click. it also works where it happens to crematoriam garages and other no car/ped access issues. Not likely related in this instance but Razer mice do Razer things and double click and place 2 buildings on top of each other sometimes and that also brings up no ped/car access signs, cant tell that its happened except for those warning signs. rather annoying. lol
Looking great Biffa. What is it with the wiggly vehicles in CS2? Don't remember seeing that in CS1. How often would you get traffic going to the train depot? I was thinking you could have just crossed the tracks with a road.
You missed a few hundred people as you didn't include the new residential spots into their districts, otherwise this was a great build! I would have maybe MAYBE connected that little office stub into the main collector road so it wasn't culdisacked but it's all good :P
1438 the vehicles can still have over to the left-hand side don't forget to remove the left hand side turning to move the left hand turn and keep up the good content😊😊😊😊
City skylines 3 should allow you to combine previous city grids as neighboring cities and allow you to do l9ng roads of countryside with small farm style houses and farm land the idea being eventually you fill out a state or continent
With the zoning mod, if you wanna rezone a street I’ve found if you uncheck the upgrade button and then put it back on, you’ll be able to rezone instead of redrawing
The No Pedestrian Access notification might be because you have a zone under that park. I've noticed that if you put a custom park zone and then a ploppable park on top, it gives that error.
Biffa ... I guess that the newly added bus stops in your new industrial area (next to the train station) don't make much sense, because it's the same line. The busses are already filled up at the first stop and than they go through the roundabout and are not able to take any more passengers at the second bus stop.
Busses overflowing, trams running empty. Why? The tram line is a circle around the outside of the area, i.e. longer route not going where most travelers want to go. The buses on the other had go straight into the heart of the dense district. Where the buses go is where the tram ought to go.
I still don't get why cargo train stations only have a single track for both in and out. And also don't get why outside connections still require you to have your own trains.
Just flip the train station around so it faces the bus terminal and tram and stadium. You place things so far apart, try think ahead as a pedestrian when you plan areas, more planning ahead prevents these problems :)
Why are you not letting peopel turn right on the big road the one side it has a slip lane for turning right but the opposit side peopel just cant turn right( 43:10)
how to you get lodging commercial. you have unlocked the second building for Na Low Density Waterfront Housing (Architect's mansion). I can't get any hotels and cabins to spawn even if I put the tax in minus, so they get money to setup in my city. I have unlocked everything and place tourism buildsing
I've been wondering if it's possible to build a city with only low density housing. I've tried, but things grind to a halt. Like my old grandad used to say, every kid should grow up with a back garden. I know young adults in particular can only afford flats, so you need high density, but I've always wanted to build a city with only houses with gardens. But it's difficult.
Love to play this game if it comes to consoles, but if they don't add that much needed traffic manager light mod then it will be a pointless game to buy.

For the cargo station, just wrap the road around the back sides of it and connect to the entrance so you don't have bridges and tunnels
