How to adjust your BMW's interior temperature with auxiliary ventilation - BMW How-To

- In this video BMW How-To shows you that, depending on model and country, with the optional equipment ‘Automatic air conditioning’, auxiliary ventilation is included. The independent ventilation allows the temperature of the interior to be adjusted before the journey starts, using power from the vehicle’s battery. Depending on the set temperature and ambient temperature, the interior is ventilated or heated using any available residual heat from the engine. The system can be switched on and off directly or for a preselected departure time. In order to set and activate a departure time, go to “CAR”, “Settings”, “Climate comfort”, “Auxiliary ventilation”, “Departure schedule” and select the required departure time. Set the departure time and select the day of the week if necessary. After activating the required departure time, the fan and time symbol on the climate display signals that a departure time has been activated. At least 10 minutes should pass between adjusting/activating the departure time and the scheduled departure time, so the climate control has enough time to work. In the My BMW App the system can be switched on and off directly as well, by clicking on the fan symbol and pressing “Start”. The system switches off automatically after a while.

First time BMW owner here, just picked up my 2022 M550i with this feature and I must say I am quite disappointed with the lack customization allowed within the mybmw app.
My wife 2022 Kia Telluride also has a similar app however from the app we can choose whether we want to cool the car down or heat the car up.
Having to rely on the current setting of the car is rather limited as temperature can fluctuate quite a bit given where you live because leaving the car in the morning you may have the heater on however by late afternoon coming home you may want to cool the car down instead but because the car was left with the heater on from the morning setting you now dont have that option.
BMW, please get this updated.
I believe its only with the e models that the car automatically adjusts according to the temp outside. I have a 530e and when it's cold outside and I use the app it defrosts the windows and heats the interior but with my 440i it just puts on AC 🤯
How do I set the temperature?
You can by changing the temperature before you leave the car. It takes over the temperature that is set in the car.
Is it so hard for BMW to allow us to set the temp remotely? What about prewarming the sits and steering wheel..? Useless

As i understood while trying, the temperature set as you let it when you turn off the engine
Been wondering the same. Set it going this weekend, one chilly morning. Jumps in the car 15 mins later.......the AC is On, & all the windiws condensated....FAIL. So, that evening, I made sure that the settings were how I'd like them to be, for as if I were defrosting the car. So, I set it going via the app, 20 mins before departure......again....though id set the temperature high, the ac was blowing, & all windows misted. Poo.

I believe you need to go to ac menu > Ventilation and uncheck the ac option

Traded my Honda CRV for a new X3 M40i and just realized it doesn’t have remote start! Seriously!? lol I just assumed it did since all my other cheap cars had it. Is there a way to warm it up during the winter with the app or does it just ventilate cold air?

Why in BMW Connected App you could set a time when auxiliary ventialtion will start and in My BMW App you can only turn it on now not able to make a schedule?

well, it depends on your car model, some only blow wind, some can start air conditions

@iLLWiLLx21 ajajajajaja, well in Mexico City, Puebla, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Monterrey, i have seen much better cars than bmw, for example Lamborghinis, g wagons, mc claren etc.., But in my case I had a 330 2016 for 4 years and then change to a 330 e 2020, In Puebla and Mexico city I feel very safe driving, of course I don't go to the bad parts of the city only if i really need to go, but in any city in the world you don't go to those parts, also in Puebla and Mexico City (the citys I know the best) is really comon to see bmw, mercedes, porche, audis

Just bought the iX3.. the app is the most useless piece to crap ever... I cant set the temperature remotely, i cant heat up the seats nor the steering wheel... and the worse part is... the car doesnt connect to the home wifi... my garage is subterranean and I have now Network... its just uselsss
