My name is Eirik Arnesen and I'm a sculptor from Norway, living and working in Florence, Italy. I teach sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art and on this channel I'll share with you every step of my process, discussing materials, tools and techniques.

This guy is really awesome. His forms are nice and rounded, no cheap hollows. The veins on the head look right, but would a subject of this age show surface veins along the neck like that. IDK. A matter of taste. At least they're fairly subtle.

Check him out. I think you're part of the new vanguard of great sculptors. No bullshit like those awful public monuments they keep putting up in DC. He looks much older than the model.
While accuracy is a nice goal to strive for, it's not my singular focus in something like this. He looks a little older because that's what interests me as far sculpture goes. Since the sculpture is for me only I decided to take some creative license.

If the sculpture was for someone else who wanted it to look like the model then a lack of likeness would be unforgiving of course!
