You don't have to apologize finn. You've got a great job, a wife, and a lovely son. You can make your videos whenever you have the time and inspiration and i'm sure we'll watch them all the same. At least i will.

Hey Finn, it takes a lot of courage to sit there and talk about such "intimate" details. I applaud you, and I truly appreciate the content you provide.

finngamerASMR I felt touched by your honesty in this video. I have battled with severe depression for 16 years and I also have gained a lot of weight due to a medication that I was put on which affected my thyroid. Be strong, man. Hope to see you back on camera soon. Loved the honesty in this video.

I've been watching your gaming channel for almost 5 years and your asmr since you've started and this may be one my favorite videos you've done. Really nice to hear your story and that you are doing well! My mother had thyroid problems for years so I am glad to hear your doing well. Keep up the great work Janne. I know its belated by awhile but congrats on the birth of your first son as well. Much love from Texas.

Thank you for sharing all of this with us Janne, I can imagine how difficult it must've been to talk about as I've struggled with my weight all throughout my life with eating disorders and the like. It's always an uphill battle gaining your own approval, I find, and it makes life even more difficult if you don't get that approval from others as well, so I can understand not wanting to show yourself on camera, because then you don't have to leave yourself open. And that is perfectly okay and I get that. Just know you're not alone and if you ever need someone to talk to, my inbox is always open. You've been a big inspiration to me for years now, the least I can do is listen. Keep on smiling Janne, you got this :)

Really glad that you're getting your confidence back, Janne. In the same way that you choose to do videos when you feel good about it, don't push yourself to reappear on camera! Thanks for sharing and as ever, thanks for doing some ace videos, mate! Take care!

It might be worth considering doing a Q & A vlog if you're running short of ideas? As you can see in this comment section people are pleased you're opening up about yourself. Also, I agree with you about variety, it's important to put a bit of everything in to try cater to everyone. Keep up the good work! :)

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I have been suffering from dry eyes for about 4 years now so I can relate to some of what you've just said. I know all about looking weird and unlike yourself especially when it comes to your eyes and how much it can impact your life. It has absolutely destroyed my self-confidence. I haven't worked for a couple of years now and I don't have much of a social life either, unless I'm outside wearing sunnies of course. This has led to depression and A LOT of social anxiety. But things have been improving and I'm traveling interstate for some pretty expensive treatment so eventually I should be okay. It has been very hard though, especially getting people to understand what I'm going through. Like you said, it's not about being fussy about the way you look, it's just feeling comfortable in your own skin. I've been following your videos for probably 6 years or something now and I didn't even think of why you weren't showing your face anymore. I completely understand why you wouldn't but I do look forward to seeing you again some day! Your ASMR videos help me relax and now you've given me some inspiration as well. Thank you so much man, game on!

Thank you, and thank you for sharing your story as well. I know exactly how you feel, happy to hear you've been improving. Hang in there, try every treatment (you're worth it), and when you've done that, just try to believe time will heal the rest of the insecurities, because it will.

I’m really sorry to hear about all the suffering you’ve endured, and it’s quite impressive that you’ve been able to conceal your health problems from your fans by creating upbeat and thoughtful videos for all these years. For the future, though, you don’t have to suffer in silence. On your channels, there’s a big community you’ve built that would love to offer words of support if you need them. For now, good to know you’re feeling better, and good luck with the future of your recovery!

gramblor1 Thanks. Well, doing videos like normal has been a help by itself, and of course I've talked about this with my family. Still, it was nice to do a video of it as well, especially now that I'm way better.

Thanks for sharing ur story finngamer appreciate it!! Im a subscriber since the beginning and i love ur videos cuz of the character u have and not cuz how u look. U always seem to me like a very calm, relaxed, friendly and kinda down to earth person so i understand why u got so many subscribers here on youtube - u deserve them!! Ofc its important to love that person which u see in the mirror, thats rly true!! I had some problems with that too but i found myself through bodybuilding which wasnt always easy but i rly got so much back from it. Things like discipline, power of will - work hard no matter how u feel just do it, love for myself - smileing everytime i look in the mirror - and for people around me as well!! So at the end it was a pretty good deal - i thank god for every day i have here on earth and i hope i never get blind for the small things in life - i had so many i should have been thankful for but i didnt see them cuz i was looking for the things i dont have. Chasing ur goals is very important but please dont loose urself by doing that. Personally im very sure i wont lose myself again cuz now i know who i am. And i know who u are as well, even if i dont know u in person, so i rly hope u stay that person cuz i would rly miss that guy!! Thanks for ur time and all the love u put in ur videos. Cheers

You make quality ASMR videos so I'd rather have you put them out rarely then not at all! And make the videos that you enjoy doing, don't listen to other people's complaining.

I really liked this video a lot. Im crazy excited to see you back in front of the camera. I liked your old videos so much. For me (and I'm sure many others), the connection between content creator and viewer is so important and that's why I liked the ones with your face in them. I'm not just subscribed to you because you put out awesome content, but mostly because I think you're a really cool and likable guy. I dont know how many times ive stumbled across a channel where the content was perfect but the commentator was really annoying or an asshole or just didn't talk much. And I never subscribe to those channels because you really need both.
Personally, I loved hearing about your whole story and I really made me respect you more for being able to come on the brutal internet and expose yourself. I would LOVE if you continued to do these long vlogs where you just run your mouth the whole time. I would be really interested in hearing more about your life or maybe stories from your experiences in the gaming industry. I think one of the reasons why I like your asmr channel is because it's smaller and it feels more personal. I've actually watched every video of yours from both channels and I just want you to know that I support whatever it is you want to do as long as you're happy with whatever it is.
With love from The States (not as cool as Finland, I know)

  • @CPUT99
    @CPUT99 9 років тому +1

I appreciate the honesty in this video... I suppose you can't be all things to all people. The vulnerability of presenting yourself is what deterred me from continuing to develop a gaming channel of my own (amongst other reasons...) I don't think it's completely necessary to appear in the shot, depending on the content... if it is someone commenting on an item then to see the item may suffice. I can relate to the self-conscious element of analyzing your own looks. Then again, we are all older now than years ago and time is a harsh mistress :P ... And to the people that may comment "he looks weird" or whatnot, fuck em!! -well, that may be blunt.. but you seem to be a genuinely nice person, and although it may be hard I wouldn't let a minority of people's shallow reactions bear too much weight... Though a few bad apples can spoil the batch, know that a lot of people really appreciate the content you produce (when you do) whether you are present in the frame or not. But all that being said, good luck with the future operations, they sound intense.

Great vlog, very open about yourself, thanks for sharing so much. Has your doctor suggested anything as far as exercise and/or supplements? I got to my heaviest non-training weight a few years ago (202, about 91kg) and that woke me up... was turning 40 around the same time ;) Now 43, I'm about 90kg but 4 days/week in the gym. It's a great buffer against a lot of health problems (age, depression, body composition) and it feels awesome, you can get a runner's high from weight training :) Syntha-6 with some flax oil really helps also...
