I met my wife of 21 years because of my 924. I had one in high school and she would see it in the parking lot. She said she asked around until she found out who’s it was. We finally met and the rest is history. Such a great car.
I love how the transaxle porsche community is so tight-knit. Everyone is so supportive of each other and their plans for their cars. One of the most wholesome car communities
I had a 924 in the late 80s. my buddies had Zs, and RX7s and Cameros, but stupid me wanted that Porsche. It wasn't the fastest car, or the sportiest, but it had soul. It made you just want to go drive. This video truly embodies the 924 relationship.
The 924 is definitely not the fastest car, but I couldn't imagine a more loyal companion for the countless road trips through the country. It's a car with great traction, that can be a lot of fun to drive on winding, narrow roads...
Thank you very much! It means a lot to me to receive this praise from one of the largest 924 communities 🙏For me it's definitely more than getting from A to B with this car.
My 924 had a warm start problem. If you shut it off and came back a little later and tried to start it while the engine was still warm, it wouldn't start. The lazy work-around was to wire the primer injector to a button that could be pushed while cranking. The primer injector is designed to only work when the engine is cold to help with starting and has a sensor that doesn't allow it to squirt when the engine is warm. I don't know what the proper solution to the problem was but priming the warm engine worked. I also don't know why Porsche designed it to only prime when cold other than they like to over-engineer their cars.
Same exact issue when a hot day. I found that if I keep pressed the accelerator to the floor while cracking it takes about 10 seconds to start and it eventually starts catching up the 4 cylinder firing smooth sequence. On a cold day it takes just 3 seconds with only the key. Part of the soul and the driver that understands that soul.
Read the manual. To be sure you should measure the residual fuel pressure when the car is shut of. Most likely the fuel accumulator cant keep the pressure, the most common hot start problem issue.
Ganz viel Liebe! Sehr geiles Video.
I have mine from scratch! It was so rusty that was a crazy thing, I had to change half the motor and all the electric cables but after 5 years it worked like a charm.
We hadn’t a honeymoon… we bought a 944 instead. It was our wedding car and I was the driver 😊 Almost 7 years with us. Then, diapers and other stuff a little human needs, brought a hard decision of selling our 944. 😢 We found her a good home with a couple like us 🎉 We don’t regret the decision. We had a good time and tons of memories. Thanks for this video. ❤
Hey man I’ve watched this video everyday since I discovered it about a week ago! Much love from New York. Picking up my first 77 924 this weekend if it doesn’t snow and I would love to make a video like yours! Thanks
Hello, was it hard to fix the starter issue? I'm looking to buy one and its also got a starter issue (possibly the same). I'm wondering if its manageable to fix for a beginner.
I lowered mine 30mm front and back (shorter springs at the front and adjusted the rear with the eccentric screw, paired with the Bilstein B6 dampers) 25mm spacers on the rear axle. I painted the rim star of the stock rims black. ... that's it, nothing fancy 😉 ... have fun with your 924!
i had one i tended only to say to it come on is that all you got? i couldn't live with a car that looks fast but isint. Frustrating. With the Added hot start issue that was when i got rid. This car has tail lights out and driving light out.
For me it doesn't has to be fast on a straight line, it comes alive on narrow windy roads where cornering is crucial. ...but not every car is for everyone :)
As someone else mentioned, the work around is to create a circuit from a fused 12v source to activate the cold start injector. I installed a normally open push switch in one of the blank spaces in the dashboard. I mean a removable grommet. I pressed on that switch when it refused to start while hot. The engine would almost always start .

What an amazing story... wish you both all the best!

it's like a big family! I love all the messages we get from all over the world. It feels special to be part of that community 🙏
I agree. Is having a soul. Mine is a 924 Turbo 1980, now 43 years old and still have the fun character of day one.

This was amazing. Its so good to see other people loving their 924's. I love my 924S, I've had it 2 years and put 33000 miles on it.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy your 924S for many more miles to come!
@@soulfulmachines hi!! I have a question. Would you recommend it as a Frist car, and for every day use?
Superb little film. Shows how owning the right car is so much more than just transport. The community around 924's is always strong.
Thank you very much! It means a lot to me to receive this praise from one of the largest 924 communities

Very nice sample and a very nice letter too! Congrats and enjoy it! Thanks for the video! 👏🙂
Beautifully stated. A top three video in the list of Porsche 924 videos Ive been able to find on UA-cam.
Very inspiring and beautiful video! That's exactly what I love about my 924 too :) And you did some pretty great shots of your car too! So cool! :0
Thank you very much 🙏 ...great that these cars are getting more and more appreciated!

Thank you! Good luck in finding your perfect 944... which will hopefully become your (car)buddy. :)
Sehr schön gemacht!

Schön zu hören dass es noch mehr Enthusiasten gibt denen ihr Transaxle so viel bedeutet... Gute Fahrt!
Vielen lieben Dank für dieses emotionale Video ;-)

Wonderful production. 😎👍. Beautiful classic car.

Wahre Worte ! 100% nachvollziehbar!
Incredible! 👏👏👏
🙏
Inspiring. I'm going out tomorrow to start looking for a GoPro with Hyper smooth.
Thank you🙏 ! ...but a shaky camera can add "roughness" to a video. In this case it's intended. 😉

Super cooles Video!
I have a stock 924 in white, what visual modification are done to your car? I want to model my build from yours.
Love mine too but any idea how to get the 80's smell out of it?
That smell is fantastic. Smell of a classic car.
That's the correct answer 😅
...but I would try some kind of air freshener that can be attached to the air vents, or febreze refresher.
2:15 got into the same situation with my miata XD
😄👍

Im restoring a very rusty 924 Carrera GT
Good luck with the restoration! A 924 Carrera GT is definitely worth the effort ❤️
Vous etes allemands ou anglais?
Starting problems, mine too…
most of them have these problems... I hope you find the reason

Cold start valve in my 924 turbo. Bosch part, 1 year only. Rare and expensive.
