I posted this on your last video but I have to say it again.. it's a crime how under subscribed you are. Great videos and good consistency. As I watch this on my 4k oled.. please get a nice 4k camera! Thanks for the content.
Really appreciate that! I’m running the DJI Pocket 3 at the moment as my whole channel needs to fit in my carry on luggage 😅 Genuinely appreciate the kind words. Each video is around 30hrs work to put together
Dan, at 25:47 the water is stunningly clear, what an amazing resource! Reviewing Galeons 440, instead of the usual 52+ boat, still has the same extremely clever design philosophy with the owner's ease of use, in mind. Although, I prefer a galley that you can wedge yourself into, (for rough seas) not quite this open, thanks for your usual comprehensive... tour
15:20 is actually the nicest bed on any boat tour I’ve seen for far. Waking up with this view must be awesome. Boatbuilders should offer large master cabins with a layout along a window like this.
Love Galeon. They put so much thought into their yachts, like they think about how people will use and interact with the yacht and then from there, design it all.
I’ve been following Galeon for years (love them) but TBH I think you should have been given a different (better?) spec of boat to review e.g. a galley aft layout means you get large sliding windows at the back of the saloon that makes a bar area on the starboard side that includes stools and a drop bar on the outside of the boat being served from the aft galley (which makes the drop-balcony make far more sense). Also this means that you have dining area to the back that can morph into an outside coffee area on the port side of the balcony. And having the galley aft makes a better forward indoor lounge area IMO (and that also includes reversible helm seats). They also do rotating cockpit seating (which is very very cool). I could go on……. the boat that you reviewed would definitely not be the way I would spec a 440 but hey ;-) Cheers for the great review! (P.s. you cal also spec the kids bunk room to be an office space (which I love)). P.p.s I think there is also an option for seating on the forward deck rather than pads (but that might only start at around the 460 upwards - worth it IMO)
Interesting about the office space! I would totally go for that! I don’t actually know anyone from Galeon yet so this was organised by some mates at Argo Yachting in Mallorca whom I know. When the time comes I’m sure the factory will make some more models available to test as this is a very interesting brand!
if you like a Swiss Army Knife boat have a look at the Galleon 510 Sky, its got a small fly bridge with a one touch automatic fly bridge cover but more options than you can shake a stick at. ps love the reviews
Gorgeous boat and im a huge fan of galeon but i cant help feeling that the brown upholstery on the loungest looks a little loose and wrinkled at some points and could be a concern for the long term wear and tear. Not that it would be enough to deter a purchace because its a lovely boat for sure.
I see the loose upholstery on many boats and I assume that’s down to the foam - but would be interested to know if that’s correct or not? The colour you could change I’m sure
Another great tour, Dan 👍 While i welcome Galeon's innovations, i often think they try to pack too many in for real-world use. Re: Fold out decks that are on so many new boats now, i never see them being used after that initial tryout, not even at the sand bar. Am i right? I get told i have to have them for resale, though... 🤦🏻♂️
For example I couldn’t be bothered putting the safety rails in place so you have a point. I think they are definitely doing some very intelligent thinking in terms of design. But maybe the future of design will involve more feedback from more boat owners. Because personally the less mucking about I need to do the more likely I’m going to operate/use the feature. I’m thinking clears for example…
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Was a huge Galeon fan. Then I saw your review of the RIVIERA 4600 Platinum Edition. That boat is just perfect. Proportions layout style. An absolute classic like an e-type Jag. They really hit the nail on the head with that one.
Not good - i cover that in my Patreon video actually. This is one of the compromise you make with big hull windows. Solution is to be very considerate of your fender positioning.
the lights do flicker, it simply not noticeable by the human eye without the help of a camera. So whenever you get this you can put up a capture saying "you won't notice this flicker IRL". But I mean at this point in our age, we in 2024, if people aren't aware of this by now. Then let them be unaware god sake 🤣
I’ve since discovered more settings in my camera (thanks to you guys educating me in the comments) so I think I’ve managed to stop the flicker in all my recent videos 🙏🙏🙏 It’s so annoying when I spend 14hrs filming and then the bloody flicker shows up 😅🤯
Rocking and interfering LED with the camera unfortunately. There was a big storm a few days before this and lots of water movement still left over that was sloshing around. Also I don’t actually have a cameraman so every video is a new operator and I just coach them on the go.
Guess it’s a up to personal preferences. I like it a lot and prefer it over glossy surfaces or exotic materials other luxury brands use. It’s nothing fancy, but should work really well for daily use. I’m sure Galeon offers alternatives though.
Dano my guy i know you have pershing yachts in syd. 😢why bro ..why cant ya get on one .its the ferrari of yachts my man .ive been pleeding for yrs dano
I gave up asking the Aussie dealers as they didn’t seem interested so have been trying in EU and will try next month in US. Wish me luck 🤞 Some of the CEOs in Italy from a few factories have started introducing me to their other boat building mates so that may also come off at some point too 🤞🙏
Totally agree. Love to see a Dans boat review on a Pershing 6X for example. Like to see you sea trialling those amazing surface drives and of course, showing that Roooooster!!

Yeah super nice vibe down there. I remember 20+yrs ago when I first started selling boats it was like going down into a cave
Good 4K tour and edit. I would like to see Galeon 500 series, 510
In a boating life i think it’s important to identify the things that piss you off to no end.
Good job double thumbs up!!
Love Galeon. They put so much thought into their yachts, like they think about how people will use and interact with the yacht and then from there, design it all.
Glad to see a builder not obsessed with IPS drives. Shaft drive, simple, reliable and economical to maintain.
Thanks, Dan, for mentioning our lovely island. Greetings from Mallorca.
Paradise in the Med. You guys are so lucky to live there. Cheers
Awsome, when deck down. Looks like the jets can splash ya!
Awesome Dan thanks, keen to see the Galeon 510 sky next..👍🏼
I’ve had a LOT of guys in Florida asking me to test Galeon so keen to get on a few more if I can.

Galeon 450 HTC is same boat without the flybridge and if you want fly with full (electric) cover then go for the 510.
Oh so does the 510 have that sliding fly cover I wes talking about? If they are at FLIBS i'll go say g'day and see what I can learn.
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Yes Dan, the 510 Sky.
Just a guess, but I think the point of that loose sofa bit, is you can move it out to the table and have people sit on the opposite side and dine?
Hmm yeah maybe that’s what it’s for.. you could be onto something there!

Thank you for the wonderful review!
enjoy BoatLife content - the camera work on this one, made me feel seasick Great boat though
One day i will get an actual cameraman. Just need more Patreons - hope you recovered from the sea sickness!

@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Totally agree Dan. Over complexity means there's more to go wrong, or wear out too 👍
Very nice boat, but what about solar panels and batteries?
Out of the two, who would you say is more premium higher overall quality. Or do they both sit in the same bracket. Galeon or Riviera boats.
Riviera hands down. I would not put these two up as direct competitors however.

How does the black glas withstand fenders?

Stabilization = seakeeper
Yes - i would option it for this boat if I was boating in a wave exposed location.

The early 90's called and want their interior back. I don't like the interior lightning bolt design patterns. It won't age well IMO.

Haha... that's the funniest comment I've had in a while. I'm going to steal this and re-purpose this joke for my friends apartment.
Yes agreed - and i'm sure you would have options to choose. Kids messy hands shouldn't leave too many marks with this timber I feel.
