This size/layout seems similar to the Fjord 41XP you reviewed 6 months ago (beware of the raccoons). Different engines but same net HP (3X4 vs 2X6). I prefer the wings and sun roof of the V44, but the extra cargo space and pilot visibility of the 41XP. In terms of quality and resale, I think Fjord wins (but I might be wrong). You actually got to move around and play with both boats. Which boat did you prefer?
Ok you are on point with your observations. The V44 is lacking the storage or the Fjord but she’s actually more spacious on deck. In terms of resale that will depend on the region. Europe is likely going to be better for Fjord. US and Aus the V44 should be fine. They are absolutely both worth spending time onboard as they offer a similar amount of features but do things slightly differently. I’m keeping my eye on Schaefer as they appear to be on the rise in terms of quality and style (in particular the V Series). If they release a V-50 something… then they will have a family of boats that’s quite competitive

Yes I think you're right. I've tested both boats and the V44 is totally unique but I do see the inspiration you're referring to

Beautiful, but 1.1 mil euro for a day boat… more expensive then a fjord. I dont know, if you dont have a budget go for it. For the rest of us, we will keep fingers crossed that someone will produce a boat without having 100% margins on it.
This is much more luxurious than the V33, its not about the lenght. It's much wider as well.. All the materials used seem more premium than the V33. Schaefer was not playing when they made the V44. And this one has a proper shower/cabin, the V33 doesnt.
It's a total evolution in design when compared to the V33 and I personally believe this is going to be the stepping stone boat for many guys moving up from Adventure Boats and before they go buy real big Med Day boats or a Bluegame or something like that. It's just perfect for so many scenarios that I can imagine. I'll take a stab at it now and say it's probably going to be one of my top picks for 2024.
So how would you rate the build quality of the Schaefer v44 say to the Nimbus T11 or W11, the Jeanneau leader 12.5 or Axopar 45? Again, THANKS for doing such a detailed review of this boat and the 375 as well.
Nimbus still at the top but you could put Schaefer ahead of the Axopar in some areas and Axopar ahead in other spots. Jeanneau is mass market quality but still had solid resale. Happy to chat more on Patreon www.patreon.com/dansboatlife

It is beautiful... but roughly twice the price of a DB37... not sur what it does bring more as the cabins do not seem that more spacious. Would even say they look smaller but with just a bit more headroom in one
Oh I was on a V44 yesterday actually with about 15 people. It's a MUCH bigger and more capable platform than the DB37.

Just one major mistake you made Dan when you said "Proper tall people." Tall people aren't proper Dan. 5 Ft 7 Inches is as tall as proper goes mate.
Great tour, of course I guess you would lose all that rear storage with inboards. I prefer outboards as it means less holes through the hull for sinkage.
