New York Cinematic | Sony A7S III | Phantom Lut

New York ... the city that never sleeps. New York was on my bucket list for ages but somehow it had never worked out until now. In June it was finally time and I traveled for 9 days to New York.
New York is already an incredibly fascinating city. However, I have to admit that it would be too noisy and hectic for me forever. Since I prefer Hamburg then :).
New York … die Stadt die niemals schläft. New York stand schon ewig auf meiner Bucketlist aber irgendwie hatte es bisher nie geklappt. Im Juni war es dann aber endlich soweit und ich bin für 9 Tage nach New York gereist.
New York ist schon eine wahnsinnig faszinierende Stadt. Allerdings muss ich zugeben, für immer wäre sie mir aber zu laut und zu hektisch. Da ist mir Hamburg dann doch lieber :).

I love how you switch the focus between landmarks and New Yorkers; the Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge may be what first comes to mind when thinking of NYC, but it's the people who live and work there that make it the greatest city in the World.

Amazing video!! Good job on the colours. With this lut, do you play a lot with the contrast in post. I always seem to have washed out colours and very yellow skin tones. Thanks :)

Thank you 🙂. I have minimally increased the higlights and reduced the shadows in some clips but really only minimally. often you don't need to make any further changes after applying the phantom luts. I don't change the saturation at all after the Phantom LUT, for example. Hope that helps 🙂.

I use only the neutral phantom lut and I have minimally increased the higlights and reduced the shadows in some clips but really only minimally. often you don't need to make any further changes after applying the phantom luts..

There's actually not much magic to it 🙃... I overexpose at night 1.7 to 2 stops over and then bring it back in post processing. Hope that helps 🙂.

Most of the street crossing scenes are filmed handheld. i always try this ninja walk. It always looks stupid but nobody knows me in New York 🙃🤣. The stabilizer of Final Cut Pro makes the first then in case of need.

I always shoot the slomo videos in 100fps at 1/200 and then use them later in a 25fps timeline. hope that helps 🙂
