But why are the American artist not working with the originators . I understand there are factors but you have to admit that afrobeats artist are the ones doing the crossovers and making the genre popular to a new audience. I wasn’t surprised when Grammy recognized davido and asake for popularizing amapiano!
@rudolphphillip9395 Nigerians make music for the world, South Africans make music for South Africa, they sing in their own language and in their own style, in their country, and growing their domestic industry. Nigerians are dancing and singing for international approval. They go out into Europe and America for collaborations, because they are targeting that market. Don't confuse being popular with being better.
Afrobeats is the global genre in the new era! R& B will have limited expression due to lack of demand in this new age! It doesn't carry the vibe of the new generation! Chris Brown music has really never fitted in R&B. The American music industry just put him in R&B! Chris is not stagnant as a musician. He is forever evolving and creating!
