That was the great missed opportunity back in the 20teens when Matt Smith was leaving. Ferguson was finishing up with CBS and was obviously offering himself to return to Scotland with all the Who references and tributes on his talk show. Instead they cast his old punk bandmate Peter Capaldi. He was OK but Ferguson could have better continued the eccentric nature of the last three young Doctors...into an older character without making it so severe. Who interest wained worldwude with Capaldi, then down the toilet...same thing happened in the 80s with Colin Baker then the next incarnation was even less interesting. I wonder if BBC said NO because CF had lampooned the Royal Family so much, especially the once and future King.

Brilliant! I've been trying to figure out why he isn't given more credit. His shows are actually worth watching. He's funny, has a great report with his guests, and can hold his own with the best of them. And the fact that he did the first ever Doctor Who themed show just earned him tons of bonus points. Love it!

this was total tribute to the first 4 doctors which ferguson was a kid in the 1960's my doctor is the great tom baker never seen matt smith or any of the new guys

But only those few seconds and one world have been enough...I'm so going to miss his giggly, positiv and funny character. He just makes me feel happy when I see him :)
Isn't that the point of this episodes? To introduce him and the show to new audiences? In that regard they aren't wasted at all. When you're a fan of something you should be sharing it with people, not simply celebrating it amongst yourselves.
Ugh, I can't believe I held out for so long. My friends had always asked me to watch it way back when, and I never did until the end of last year. Finished the new series in about a month, I did. Now I have to find all the old ones and watch those too :3 while juggling school though :
kurodoku1998 Good luck finding ALL the old ones, it can't be done. Fire at the BBC, recording over old episodes, etc. A couple of those turn up every now and again, and the BBC has a standing bounty of 1 Dalek to anyone who provides them with a copy of any episodes that have been lost.
