Great points! The part about prayer of healing actually being a useful spell was particularly enlightening. Just don't go into the middle of Orgimmar and try to tell anyone that! It makes perfect sense that the spell becomes more useful once shamans exit the picture. Healing being burst damage, such as after after Broodlord Laslayer's blastwave, would be very simple when coordinated. I can sympathize a bit with priests on the tank healing. I had to do it with my shaman on some fights, such as the triple dragonkin packs before Chromaggus, or healing the warrior tank every week during twin emps. The damage output by some mobs is so erratic the single target healing just becomes a miserable spam fest. One last comment here for fun. The 'smart heal' portion of chain heal probably is overrated as you say. However, It does allow for some goofy strategies when you have content on farm. I've been a Golemagg fight where every shaman just spammed chain heal on the main tank and let the bounces do all the work. I've also seen a bored shaman just spam it on himself during most of a ZG raid. I guess it's kind of a forgiving spell in that sense where you can make mistakes or play improperly and still get some value.

Starting Druid, but main is going to be Priest. Probably going to be playing a lot of Priest/Paladin!
