You never see a Challenger Hemi so optioned out as most were ordered by dragsters who were looking to make the car as lite as possible. Look at those option on the fender tag Wow! May be one of the most beautiful sports cars ever built....and only a few years later they would be gone. Once again, thx Lou!

Beautiful car. I passed on a '70 Challenger R/T in B5 blue with a 4 speed in 1995. It had a pistol grip shifter and was in very good condition. The engine wasn't numbers matching but it was a real Hemi car. The price was a whopping $10,000. I looked at it, test drove it but decided on a '70 Corvette with a 454 and a 4 speed. Today the Vette would be worth about $25,000 and the Challenger probably close to $100k if not more. And I sold the Vette after about a year because it just didn't have any room! Man I kick myself! I did buy a '70 Challenger R/T in plum crazy this past summer but it's just a 383. I love it though.

1967davethewave Interestingly, we declined to buy a 70 Challenger 4 SPEED /Triple GREEN, 383Magnum( & many, other options I forget?), and bought a 70 Coronet 500 383 /315 Horse, PS, PB, AUTO, VINYL top, in RALLEY RED @ $$3100.00(?): from adjacent Dodge/AMERICAN MOTORS DEALER.. WHAT really is interesting, Dealer had AMC MACHINE /R/W/B’s, that were to garish and “cheap”.......around times I was looking for vehicles,,,,,,,,etc.

The tag was attached loosely with one screw, then the car was painted allowing the painter to spin the tag around getting paint under the tag. The second screw was then installed. You may have already known this. Good eye.

Interestingly, I decided NOT to buy a 70 Challenger RT/SE, *LOADED,:every, OPTIONS/ Magnum 4 Speed in TRIPLE *Green, ** ( my memory), I did not want green, or air CONDITIONING ( in my Summer of 1970): & big body roll over with Performance Tires, etc:: buying Th 1970 CORONET 500/383/4 BBL , RED/ Black Vinyl: actually remember it as $3100 CORONET Full Price, and M*** much Cheaper than the Challenger RT/ SE.. we had an interesting DODGE dealer next to Pharmacy where I worked ( SYRACUSE INDIANA), with AMC CONNECTION ALSO ( e.g display of Machine, &;REBEL,etc).....anyways good times 50 YEARS AGO!..Remembering, DODGE DEALERS , HAD LOTS OF drama to push (* Super BEES, UNUSUAL COLORS, HEMI, AND MAGNUM ENGINES, GTX, )! Ps: We often wonder how the “ Triple , *Green “ sold, & his many were PRODUCED, OF that MOPAR GREENS.?

What a great video and beautiful car, Lou. My question is this. The shaker hood was available as an option across the Challenger V8 lineup, from what I recall. However wasn't it was standard on the Hemi equipped vehicles? And from some of the information available from Dodge, the SE model apparently was the only one which the shaker was not available, as Dodge put the beautiful 2 hood scoops with the elegant badges on each side, as per the one in the video? Do you have any info on this, Lou? I was hoping to get it out of the video, but there was no mention of it.

Hi Roxy Tex, Not sure about all the options available, however here's another Hemi with out the shaker. Enjoy! Lou ua-cam.com/video/3WOO6cn6koI/v-deo.html
