- During his New York hush money trial on Tuesday, Judge Juan Merchan scolded Donald Trump for audibly muttering and gesturing at a potential juror after his lawyer challenged her inclusion.
Trump's legal team found a Facebook video of the woman celebrating his 2020 election defeat. Judge Merchan was satisfied with her explanation but warned Trump against intimidating jurors.
Trump, the first American president to stand trial on criminal charges, faces 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with misdemeanors, arguing they violate election laws but Trump denies the affair and pleads not guilty.
