love backyard baseball 2003 man. How about this for a new team idea for a full season playthrough. How about you put the nine best pitchers on your team regardless of their hitter and fielder attributes to see if the mantra pitching wins championships holds true?
Ah, the micro-strategy of backyard baseball: endurance. And yes, they did Chipper dirty, especial on the tag at 16:32 Glitch DP at 26:40 was due to the AI over-running. Player running behind the lead runner was too fast, and would therefore run past the lead runner due to coding issues.
Haven't started the episode yet but wanted to say, Hope you're doing well. I appreciate all the amazing content you make! It's helped me a lot through a very tough time in my life and the nostalgia of these old games is amazing. I hope you keep doing what you're doing because I know a lot of people's lives are made better by it.
6:39 2003 chipper jones was a tank!! He was in his prime im not sure why they did him dirty with 10 stamina? Maybe they thought his career was winding down? Lol 1999 he had 25 steals followed by 14 , 9 , 8 … so maybe that’s why they dropped his stamina? Lol
Take a shot everytime you hear “we want a batter, not a broken ladder!” Wonder if there’s a setting to turn off the audio taunting because man, that gets annoying lol
Love watching backyard baseball content. It’s so cool to come back to this as an adult and learn the game had all these hidden stats that I never knew. Really enjoy your commentary too. Keep it up
Finally, a team where my favorite character Annie Frazier gets to play. She's too good for the bad team, too bad for the good team, but BOY OH BOY she's the QUEEN of having no stamina!
As a kid I remember cheesing the AI by throwing back and forth between bases instead of back to the pitcher at the end of a play, doing so you can draw the base runner into trying to advance bases then throw them out. It’s risky bc your baseman might doink a catch, just figure I’d mention since it was a fun way to draw an out in a pinch (after watching more of the video I believe you can see the exploitable AI with the Ashley Webber bad baserunning decisions)
Great video! The situational baseball fan hurts a little when you don't have your base runners steal when it's a full count with two outs though (also not exactly sure how the game works so it might not be as good as in real life lol)
I love to play these vids in the background while I play backyard baseball myself. Was getting tired of rewatching the legacy of Thor Herring, so I'm psyched for the new content!
Idk if it’s still a thing or not, but ESPN’s site used to have a field under player info for pronunciation. His phonetic pronunciation was literally “poo-holes”.
Does someone have a link to the spreadsheet with all of the hidden stats? Want to take a look and experiment myself-want to try building a defensive team with great arms and fielding
I think there's at least two different versions but this is the one I was able to pull up just now. www.reddit.com/r/BackyardBaseball/comments/ofhvv9/hidden_backyard_baseball_stats_have_been/
If I was a UA-camr with millions of subscribers, surely I’d open a new account under my already-recognizable brand, no? Lol I appreciate the comparison but I don’t think I sound anything like that guy. And I appear onscreen in a majority of my videos.
Stamina is part of the criteria they used for defining how good someone's pitching stat is, so Wayne Pittman is a legit great pitcher, but he still gets the 4/10 pitching stat because of how quickly he gets tired. That was also the reason they didn't give Amir Khan the 10/10 despite being an even better pitcher than Randy Johnson

That weird double play must have happened due to overtaking when both tried to run home.
I think I've seen that glitch before!

Screw Claire, Wayne should've been your back up pitcher.
Backyard baseball is super nostalgic for me so I’m glad you’re doing more videos! Loved the worst team series too. Go Monsters!
Finally he's back! I mean, I just watched the previous series for the first time this morning, but what a wait!
You know youre watching someone who plays a lot of BYB is when half the team is Tony
I don’t get it. Chipper was generally healthy, some injuries as he got older but. Random they gave him 10 stamina
Take a shot everytime you hear “we want a batter, not a broken ladder!”

There is. I just leave it on since it’s sort of an iconic aspect of the game. You learn to tune it out after a while lol.
As soon as I saw Wayne Pittman on the mound I knew this would be a classic.
I'm shocked Chipper's on here

Heyyyyy, another Annie Frazier fan-love to see it haha! ❤
Remember that one time when the ball was simultaneously in the catcher's hand *and* on third?
Truly a UA-cam moment.

im honestly surprised kimmy eckman didnt enter here

Pujols...Poo-holes. HEH!

Pumped that you're making this!
I'll definitely be watching!!
I still want season 2 of the worst team but with 1 offseason addition to the team.
Seems like speed is the most important stat by far
Speed + stamina for sure

Need a compilation of all of the oohs and grunts in this video
Are you Kitboga? The voice is dead on.

The base runners probably overlapped
you commentary is great. keep up the good work.
How come you don’t use special pitches in the last inning especially when you have the juice box
Because I knew I could get it done with regular pitches.
Love it
Y they do us geminis like that lol they saying we're bad at baseball lol
Reese, Dimitri, & Gretchen
Really? Chipper was disappointing with 4 hits and 3 RBIs?
I'm trying to do this with 97 and I need help
Annie likes playing catcher
I feel like Dmitiri is underrated
Nice vid! Glad to see you doing this
Great to see more Backyard Baseball! Wow, what a suspenseful game!
Winnable but also a real challenge! If you make this a series, I think it could be your best yet.

Interesting. I disagree about Randy Johnson though. Spammed his heat throughout way too many seasons to put anyone else over him lol.
@@254Gaming-wtx You gotta give Amir a shot. He pitches just like Randy, but unlike him, he has a decent slowball
