@@WJasonMartinMD I have one! What about an episode of fat grafting? I'd like to learn more about this alternative to implants.. Is it a valid option for everyone? Cons and pros... Please and thank you
Thank you so much for the all the information I give you a 10 out of 10 great information. I had my surgery tummy talk liposuction and I’m still learning.
Enjoy the educational videos so much. Thank you for these. I am planning for an abdominoplasty after 1 child 21 years ago and definitely have rectus diastasis. I have not sought treatment for this as far as physical therapy or else. It sounds like you both feel there is nothing that can really be done in the way of strengthening to get this to narrow and that surgery is the only way to definitively take care of it. I do follow a fitness and nutrition coach that offers a video of how to close the gap with pelvic floor and ab muscle strengthening (pelvic tilt, pelvic tilt with marching, bridge with mini-band around thigh, quadruped on hands & knees with pelvic tilt and side plank - all are performed on the floor.). I know Amy said sit-ups aren’t good with rectus diastasis so I’m staying away from those. I did see you last March for a consult and have a history of a laparotomy 28 years ago. Long story short, I will have to wait to have this procedure for a while due to just starting a new job, so, is it worth trying these exercises in the meantime or will I do more damage than it’s worth?
Hi Stephanie! Amy here :) Yes, I do think there is a benefit to be had by integrating pelvic floor and core exercises into your routine. It won't repair your diastasis but is great for overall core strength and stability.
Thanks for watching! We will be answering your question on our next Q&A episode! Yes, you can combine liposuction on the braline, flanks, and back with a tummy tuck. We almost always include flank liposuction with our tummy tucks (it's a rare patient who does not need a little flank lipo) and adding additional liposuction is a great way to combine your downtime and recovery.
Hi! Just found you and watching your informational video on the tummy tuck procedure! I am having my tummy tuck surgery (1st surgery ever!) in just one week (1.29.24). I am 59 and have had 80lbs weight loss and at 25% fat now. 5'8" and 180 lbs curvy figure and used to have a very flat belly but now have loose skin with stretch marks under the belly button. I would love to share my journey with pictures and video's if possible on YT and Rumble. Will try. Thank you for the great information!
Hi Chele! Thank you for watching and congratulations on your upcoming surgery! You should absolutely document your surgery journey! Real patient experiences are so helpful for other people considering surgery.
I feel like. Y muscle placate was not done, but the Dr. says it was. Is there a particular x ray I can get to confirm? I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Hi Jessica, thanks for watching! Yes, it is not advisable to do liposuction above the abdominoplasty flap as it can impair blood flow and negatively impact healing. It is possible to liposuction the upper abdomen once the abdominoplasty has healed, usually 6-12 months post op.
How can I determine if I can benefit most from the FDL panni? I have 2 surgeons who stated it's not worth the scar for me but I already have "the" scar from a previous surgery. I do have loose skin above belly button. My surgeon suggested relocating belly button only.
Thanks for watching! In most cases, skin laxity above and below the belly button can be addressed with a traditional tummy tuck. A fleur-de-lis is typically only needed when there is an extreme amount of loose skin vertically above the belly button and hanging skin below the belly button. It's always worth seeking a second (or third) opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and the best treatment plan for you.
I like you guys just what I have been looking for. 👙 what do you guys think of ppl who have health issues having surgery? 👙 what do you think of someone who is scared of doing surgery? ⭐️ what advice & comments do you have for those scenarios?
Does mon pubis swelling disappear completely or do you end up with a scrotum sack like appearance ..? What are the treatments for it or is there no concern?
Hi Boji Bear, thanks for watching! We lift the mons area up with a tummy tuck so there shouldn't be any loose skin in the mons. Post operative swelling in the mons will not cause skin laxity.
It's Pumps in a bump! Lol. This video is so cringe! I had to check the year it was made. Posted three years ago. It had to be older, it's so not PC! LOL, hilarious in a cringe kind of way!
I found your podcast and this channel a week ago and I has been binging on it...very informative!!! Honest!! Thank you

Can a lipo 360 be done with a tummy tuck? The lipo is for the bra fat on both sides, upper back & flanks?

Someone told me you can't get lipo above the bellybutton if getting a tummy tuck. Is that true?
Hi Jessica, thanks for watching! Yes, it is not advisable to do liposuction above the abdominoplasty flap as it can impair blood flow and negatively impact healing. It is possible to liposuction the upper abdomen once the abdominoplasty has healed, usually 6-12 months post op.
My goal wasn't to remove stretch marks, more the loose skin.
@lazygirl that’s great! For women lucky enough not to have stretch marks, just removing the loose skin is the mail goal.
I did PT for 3 years including when I was pregnant and it did not bring my muscles together.

@JasonMartinMD I trusted my surgeon, opted out of the FDL incision and am so happy I did...I didn't need it. My result is AMAZING!!
Yayyyyyyyy! That's awesome! Thank you for the update and happy healing!

Can you use Bodytite on your calves and inner thighs?
Yes! BodyTite can be a great option for addressing the inner thighs and lower legs/calves.
What is tap block in tummy tuck?
Hi Leela, great question! It's a nerve block similar to an epidural to help control pain.
