    I have tried the peat method. It was good. I prefer just leaving the eggs in the methylene blue water.

    I find that I don't see many eggs, if any many times. But when you put the peat/coco in water, you get a lot of fry.

      Some eggs can be super tiny. Even off of the larger species like gularis it can be difficult to see them

    I’d highly recommend investing in a good hand lens, like for botany and or geology, for scoping out the egg bois. The magnification is much better than a normal magnifying glass

      lol it's no worries. I appreciate the advice. I have looked into a better hand lens for future list but currently its no where near the top of the list

    Great video, thanks! So the fry don't live off yolk sacks for a couple days like some other fish, you just feed immediately?

    • @terrafate
      @terrafate  Рік тому

      Thank you. The fry are born with yolk sacs. They are just very small and deplete rather quickly. Depending on the species you'll need, live bb, banana worms or infusoria as the ready for as soon as they hatch

    I know this is 2 years old but if you use ant tweezers which they are such a thing you could actually put those eggs up no problem without harming them

      @@mellewedin8221 what do you mean by put them up?

    Would feeding them crushed flakes be enough or are live foods a must?

    • @terrafate
      @terrafate  Рік тому

      You can certainly start them out on a finely crushed high quality flake food. Sometimes you'll have picky fry so that's why Ive went and stayed with live food to start them.
