I got here from watching a Japanese video about classically trained pianists being given jazz music transcribed to musical notation. She reminded me of Stephanie.....until she started playing. Don't get me wrong, she was note perfect, but she was so stiff and nervous - complaining the while that Classical pianist are all about sheet music - that I couldn't go on. I couldn't help thinking, had Stephanie actually been there and played first, she would probably never play another note. The thing being, I know Stephanie was classically trained as well and no doubt she could do the music justice, but being a jazz pianist is just so special and you and Paulo are very special.
Such a beautiful partnership of souls. I love how happy you are together making such incredible piano music. I have never heard anything like it, and the videos are so engaging. Thank you both so much.
This just a put a smile on my dial for the whole arrangment...loved it. Keep up the good work. You have such an infectious smile Stephanie, how can we not be happy when watching you two play!
Very well played!! I loved the variations on the melody, especially the stride piano version by Stephanie. I didn't know that this song was written by Harold Arlen, composer of many well-loved songs.
So glad I found your channel! This was fantastic and looks like you're having so much fun too. This really brightened my day and I thank you both, bravo!!!
Reminds me of a time (probably shortly before you were born) when, before we were married, my wife & I binge-watched classic old MGM movies that were playing every week at a local movie theater. (Including *Summer Stock* with *Judy Garland,* in which she sang this one.)
Thanks for sharing this nice memory! We have been watching a lot of MGM movies lately too, including Summer Stock, which we love! Judy's scene at the end is just fantastic!
Thank you for putting a video on your old channel informing us you have a new channel!! Really enjoying this. I'm impressed by all the "choreography" involved in playing a duet like this - how do you work all that out?
Thank you so much, Robert! We like to work out these arrangements and we have a lot of fun practicing them! This period without traveling has given us more time than we've had in the past when we were on the road a lot.
Terrific! My favourite of the three excellent new videos that have appeared this evening. I really love the way that you each get to do a solo and the different way that you each take this tune. One really important aspect of your musical partnership is the differences in your styles. Looking forward to whatever is coming next on this channel. BTW, if you are open to doing requests, would either or both of you consider tackling either twelfth street rag or even better, Tiger Rag?
Thank you so much, Jeremy! We really appreciate your comment. We have an arrangement of Tiger Rag that we are thinking of recording in the future, thanks for the suggestion!
@@StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi Brilliant news. I look forward to hearing it! I know that Art Tatum's version of Tiger Rag is one of the all time jazz classic moments, my money would have to be on you guys, since Tatum had only two hands and you have four! :)
Nothing like a key change or two to help liven up an arrangement, I always say (or more like 22 by my count not counting the ones actually written into the tune). Breathtaking!!
Superb... THANKS so much!!!
Super!
Another fun song treatment! Love to hear you guys having fun together.
Stephanie has great natural feeling for swing and stride. Her solo playing is amazing!
So many styles stuffed into an old favorite. Thumbs up.
Thanks so much, Robert!
I'm out of words.... what can I say!! Magnifico and Stephanie superlativa bravi che grande piacere é ascoltarvi .
Wonderful, Stephanie You make me very happy 🎉
