Facts
I know I sound insane, but I really do love this show.
The animation, voice acting, music, pacing, designs(for the most part) are all great to me. Rino Romano is one of the most underrated Spider-Men next to Quinton Flynn.
All that said, wow I just wish it was about anything else other than the high evolutionary and animal people. Watching Guardians 3 I couldn’t help but woder if Spider-Man would inexplicably appear on Counter-Earth.

Man did I confuse 2099 and Unlimited Spidey for a long time. Even a little after buying a copy of the Spider-Man Encyclopedia and reading every page
This show feels like they had weird early 90s toy commercial cartoon like pirates of dark water, or wild west cow boys of mooo mesa and just dropped spiderman into it. like they had a Beastials cartoon just sitting around waiting haha.

I think you guys are making up some complaints. They send a manned investigation after their probe, which as far as the show developed in the first episode, found it unintentionally, is destroyed. They don't say they declare war on anyone. Jameson's motive for leading the rebellion against them after he gets there is suggested in episode 2 to be because humans are the oppressed class and he wants to fight for them.
What's not responsible about deciding to help as Spider-Man? And why would Peter not already be prepared to go to alien planet to fight against dangerous creatures. It wouldn't help his secret identity to swoop in as Peter Parker to rescue John Jameson.
I don't think there's really much of an issue is with Venom and Carnage goop thing. Them doing all this crazy stuff and then also be physical people inside it, I think is apart of the aggressive sci-fi ness of these shows.
I think most of the complaints I've heard from are down to preference ideas, not many writing complaints, to me.

Never watched it but did try the Spider-man Unlimited Suit in my...cough cough....N64...Spider-man game. Also for PC...and another system I do not own... Captain Universe blows it out of the water of course. Double damage AND unlimited webs? Hatchi Matchi!
This show is the only reason we got the voice actor we did for that game, so it is a blessing

A Reed Richards or Tony Stark endorsement could have been more feasible to include Peter into that Rocket mission.
Ah another lover of the Ben Reilly Spidey suit! I do prefer the original, but I honestly think it’s the best alternate version of the red and blue suit we have ever gotten.

@@jerr0. I loved it on both. It certainly works better on Spider-Girl than the classic suit. I don’t know why but it just looks odd.
Another great Spidey conversation.
The first little bit of the first episode where he's still on Earth is the best part of the series. There are things to like about the show. I think it has tighter animation than Spider-Man TAS due to cleaner models. The way it uses black for shadows to emulate comic book inking looks great. I love the use of narration boxes. The theme song isn't bad.
Once he's on Counter Earth it's rough. Venom and Carnage are dumbed down (although there is one decent Venom episode involving Eddie). Watching Peter flirt with some lady when he has MJ at home feels wrong. The lack of Spider-Man rogues and characters suck and their shitty Counter Earth replacement counterparts also suck. The new suit is okay, but doesn't beat the classic. The premise doesn't make sense because it would make more sense to call Earth for backup. The entire time you're watching it, you're wishing Peter would just go home.
If there's anything positive to say, I have to give credit to the animators because out of all the 90's Marvel animated shows, this show had by far the best animation and art style. Also Rino Romano is great as both Spider-Man and Batman which is something no one else can say.

In relation to the bear pun you referenced (I haven’t watched this show for like 10 years and I still remember this lol) the pun is due to the fact she has a teddy bear and I think has teddy’s all over her shirt. Maybe bear ears too. God I’m gonna have to go check the scene now!

I remember Wizard had a short-lived spinoff magazine "Toons."
Before either show had aired Toons put 'Spider-Man Unlimited' head to head with 'Batman Beyond' in a point-counterpoint comparison.
Both shows were evenly matched except for the distinction "beyond" is defined as "further along," whereas "unlimited" is "not limited or restricted in terms of number, quantity, or extent."
This distinction edged out Spider-Man Unlimited as the superior show - a decision that definitely has not aged poorly! 😂
