that was awesome id like to see more videos of this that was cool you guys following an RC car on the road imagine what the drivers coming the other way were thinking
seen this video many times over the past year or so! always a cool one! i have wanted to try that with my jato on the freeway often! thanks for the cool vid!
I remember reading a shootout between the MGT and the 2.5 T-maxx and that registered a top speed of 44mph so I would think the revo 3.3 with about 50% more power could have potential of reaching nearly 50mph. Great video btw.
wow i give you props, i would lose control going that fast for such a long time and around them turns. i bet that motor was just about fried when you were done driving that baby
Haha, that's great! Chasing your RC car on the public roads :) I have an E-Maxx but i'll keep mine off the road, where it belongs ;) Greetings from Holland
It runs on a retro Encabulator. It's side feed magnetic flow control processors can divert amplitude inversing digital readouts to a single marsel vane. I was field-testing this unit and discovered that unless the output of the carbolic conspazmorgate was filtered through the stirrilium enuffricator at at least a minimum level of 40 diquabs, there was a good chance the dodecahedrial constipatulator would sheer and shoot through your shunt!
Pretty cool vid! And people say that running an R/C engine like that is bad, but what about R/C planes? As long as they are not overheating, any 2 stroke engine should be okay. Let the heat be the judge!
They had the monster trucks doing incredible flips at Nellis AFB's Aviation Nation this weekend. I wish they could have had a more open area for them, so that they could show off the speed these things can do. According to a magazine I saw today, Traxxas has some models that'll do 70+ mph.
hell yea....i agree with the revo or t-maxx...lol i have the revo 2.5r, i upgraded to the 3.3 motor with the 2.5 motor but soon i will get the chassy and the bigger drive axel so it will be the true 3.3...i think its the best...fast durable and easy tunable...go with the revo...the t-maxx rolls easier because it higher off the ground and the revo doesnt because it lower...its aslo faster....enjoy man what ever you start off with you will enjoy no matter what
cool vid really one of the best i've seen....there isin't vid like this even though alot of people would like them..... If you woul do more vids like this one you really would get alot of views
@hemicuda98 Clutch springs usually break after extensive use, If u break 1 and keep running the engine you have a chance of shattering your clutch shoes. As you said its a simple fix but its cause by wear rather than actuall breakage.
That's going to be my next car to buy, I like traxxas rc car's and truck's. if you have time take a look at my Rustler vxl it go's 100+MPH, and i will show you make it your rc car faster
@coondogtheman1234 its how you drive it, if you hammer on the throttle and pin it a lot, well the fuel goes by pretty quick, but if you baby it you'll get more play time
How much would a high speed run this long affect the life/performance of the engine? Very cool video. Always wanted to do this... Just won't do it because of the stress it puts on the little engine.
my revo 2.5 was killed i tried 2 tune it but it diddnt work so i baught new stuff for it but still no improvment... so anyway my NEW revo 3.3 arrived today. it works. very well.i can die a happy man
@DifficultyisEasy Your estimates sound about right. 80mph is way much. I got 81km/h (about 48mph i think) outta 7.4v 2S 25/86gears. On flat ground weighed down by a helmetcam and Garmin Map76. I was gonna try 30/83 gearing on 2S but that might be a too TALL of an order. lol
dude i got my revo and well i love it dude i dont mean 2 b mean but you should clean it up some dude run it with the body on it keeps it clean it wont overheat at those rpms it would sound funny b4 it overheated... well thats all i gatta say awsome vid keep trukin brada.
This was actually the second take. We decided to post it on here after the first one so I got the camera out. Crashing? No, but it was difficult to keep in in our lane at almost 50 mph.
The machine is a two stroke therefore can handle the WOT for awhile because at WOT it is getting the most fuel to lubricate the engine... it is the long coast with no fuel that kills em
you got a good hand on steering. What servo was in it? high tor?. I want try this with my XXX-T*has VXL motor* on a Car and beat 50+. but yeah,I'm gona need alot of driving before i get good not to bump on anything. :p
Well think of it this way. Are you more able to sprint at full speed for 30 minutes in a row or sprint at full speed for 1 minute 30 times over a period of 2 hours? The stress caused by running at full speed doesn't come on all at once. It is a gradual gain, meaning the longer you run at full RPM, the more stress the engine is put under.
It's not about the heat, it is the stress of reving at 30,000 to 45,000 rpm's for extended periods of time. It is the same as running your car at the redline for 20 or 30 miles. You really shouldn't run at full RPM for more than 5-10 seconds at a time. It doesn't sound like much, but unless you are doing a car chase, that is plenty of time for the car to get well out of your field of view.
C'mon charles it looks like its not to far off. Besides you know you have to constantly tune on these damned things day to day.Hell if its windy outside you have to tune it for that. Motors dont really last that long anyway, have fun with it
@Killer91109 Ah! that would make more sence. The Flux is my first electric and i must say i was shocked. Its mental the fact i can be nearly flat out, blip the throttle and its going up the road on its roof. My last electric car was the old 7.2v brushed motor technology has really improved! Lol!
I have just bought a Revo 3.3 and loved watching your video.
Can't wait to do some speed checks with mine.
Thanks for sharing your vids.
Dave.
man that thing was screaming! that would be able to catch a rusty! nicely done, folowed the rules! can definitely tell when that shifts
Wow that little thing sure was singing. Awesome!
that was awesome id like to see more videos of this that was cool you guys following an RC car on the road imagine what the drivers coming the other way were thinking

Great video btw.
that second from last jump was awesome the one where you flipped it and it landed perfectly.
That chase and short bash was tight!!!
i love it when it shifts into high gear. love my revo :)
iv done that in the trails out in the woods.. very fun thing to do.. and you can see how fast your truck goes..
sick clip dude...
Proud owner of the 1/8 HSP TRUGGY BD8T, also nice
I am going to buy a Revo tomorow the 28th of March 2009, It'll be wicked...;)
I already own a Tmaxx
wow i give you props, i would lose control going that fast for such a long time and around them turns. i bet that motor was just about fried when you were done driving that baby

He would most likely want my autograph for being so cool.

3:23 That jump was awesome!
good drivin man wen u get that fast i cant belive u can control it lol good idea
Thats fun. I've been doing the same check my vids. Camera onboard though. Gotta love the look on the faces of people coming towards you. lol
that was pretty cool. Traxxas is #1
Good video man I am getting a revo minus the engine and can't wait until I get an engine for it.
Pretty cool vid! And people say that running an R/C engine like that is bad, but what about R/C planes? As long as they are not overheating, any 2 stroke engine should be okay. Let the heat be the judge!
it sure is the best rc truck u can ever get
Damn fast... and it also has a good power-to-weight ratio ;-)
COOL BACK FLIP
sweet car, extremly clever video
The engine was cool to the touch. Plenty of cooling at that speed. The engine runs fine, 2 gallons of fuel later and no problems.
the best truck traxxas every made
no the Jato is

Thank You!!! We broke this engine in as per manual. What we did, did NOT hurt this engine in any way. Come on pple! Grow a brain.
cool real cool man! i cant wait to get one!
nice driving
good god that thing has speed!
Ahahahahah ur doing 45 in a 25!!!! U are the man!!!!
thats awesome great video

wow wath a great idea i want to do the same whit my traxxas 3-3 also but dont realy know if i will control it tath well thumbs up and favorite
wow... im surprised you didn't at least burn up your glow plug after keeping it pinned that long. I would love to know how hot that motor was running.
Awesome driving. ;)
Haha that was great..awesome idea, think I'm gonna try it myself :)
nice, I've always wanted to do that.

Hey buddy your over the speed limit!
:P I do love the sound of nitro tho! :)
depends on which model you get.. the Revo I got, I paid 320$ canadian from a private seller, but new they can run as much as 500-700 US
Pretty cool :D I wonder how fast a brushless e revo will go.
ya u can use the gas to tip it back and the brake to tip it forward
its running really rich
that is BADASS!
Cool video
haha, awesome man, my tc3 tops out at 21mph
hey genious. thats because they state that for the 4tec which is an ONROAD vehicle. this is a revo.
I'll do that soon! I wonder if it will help or hurt the top speed!
@DifficultyisEasy Your estimates sound about right. 80mph is way much. I got 81km/h (about 48mph i think) outta 7.4v 2S 25/86gears. On flat ground weighed down by a helmetcam and Garmin Map76. I was gonna try 30/83 gearing on 2S but that might be a too TALL of an order. lol
that was freakin sweet
that car realy moves
Nice. I still say my Evader on Mamba Max 6900 blows that away....both in acceleration and top end speed.
that sounds like a badass engine :)
Wonder if police would give it a ticket for doing 46 on a 25 zone :p
pretty cool !!
put at 18T clutch Bell, a 36T spur, low and hard suspension, remove reverse and add a THS racing pipe and you'll hit higher speeds, wicked on the road
cool car !!
@1521joe very good for bashing like this guys sorta doin and they hold up well and are easy to take car of
hey thats a nice car you got....can you tell me if all of these trucks and buggies have reverse....thanks
super Vid 5 stars
dude i got my revo and well i love it dude i dont mean 2 b mean but you should clean it up some dude run it with the body on it keeps it clean it wont overheat at those rpms it would sound funny b4 it overheated... well thats all i gatta say awsome vid keep trukin brada.
im making my own track any suggestions of what to put in it? i need help plz! nice vid btw
Nice Vid!
cool!. Im going to do that now ty.
This was actually the second take. We decided to post it on here after the first one so I got the camera out. Crashing? No, but it was difficult to keep in in our lane at almost 50 mph.
really cool vid man try to get a new one up again i enjoy your vid's
i enjoyed that, thanks!
Reeeeeeally fast
i love dis video
awesome!
I would be curious as to what temp that motor was running at after that long pegged..... ie: in excess of 300 i'm sure...
Good eye!
I gotta get one!
The machine is a two stroke therefore can handle the WOT for awhile because at WOT it is getting the most fuel to lubricate the engine... it is the long coast with no fuel that kills em

I used to get 15 minutes per tank with the smaller 125cc tank. Didnt run rich at all.
wow kool! Ive always wanted 2 do that but i got no1 2 drive me!
OMG thats fast
i do believe ur rc car was speeding ;D
u probly shuldnt be running the engine tht long at tht speed, but watevr its still a nice car, and really cool vid
Well think of it this way. Are you more able to sprint at full speed for 30 minutes in a row or sprint at full speed for 1 minute 30 times over a period of 2 hours?
The stress caused by running at full speed doesn't come on all at once. It is a gradual gain, meaning the longer you run at full RPM, the more stress the engine is put under.
cool Father!
It doesn't really matter if it is at WOT for a while, it just has to have a load on it, clearly... It did
It's not about the heat, it is the stress of reving at 30,000 to 45,000 rpm's for extended periods of time.

because you got the updated revo. the updated revo 3.3 has no reverse to give it more forward power.
