Throughout the ten years of band experience, I would have to say playing this piece would have been my favorite one alongside playing anchors away in front of admirals and captains for navy bootcamp graduations, it was honor to have ended the musician chapter of my life with the Navy band.
I played tuba and my teacher told me to all out for this and I did just that, one of my favourites

my 8th-grade band might be doing this for our contest this year! I'll tell you that the low brass was very excited while listening to this. my friends and i are absolutely obsessed with this song.

The day after we got our music, one piece being counterbalance, my friend ran up to me and excitedly asked if I’d listened to counterbalance yet. I hadn’t, and she rambled about how amazing it is before dragging me off to a practice room to play it. I love this song!

When my band was preparing for it, we were given it right after our fall concert to have enough time to prepare it for MPA and so my band director would mix the name with another piece we played called Turning Point and so my band director would call it Counterpoint instead of Counterbalance. It became a bit of an inside joke between all of the band members
We almost played this back in 8th but didnt. Im now in 10th, almost in 11th and im *still* mad about it.

At 1:17 where the alto saxes echo the flutes is honestly one of the highlights personally, love this piece
