As I understand it, Fragile and Sam being blue is because the ship they're in is passing through the Beach or the Seam (the watery region which separates the world of the living and the beach. Sam is a repatriate (someone who can't die) and the Seam is the place where, upon death, the player has to guide the soul (first person view camera) back into sam's body. Upon doing this, the player respawns and can continue playing. When dead people appear at the beach, they all appear blue. We get a few scenes where we observe the dead walking into the waters of the beach and they're all blue. A character gets revived (defibrillator) and as he gets shocked, all the colour returns to him and he is dragged away from the beach, and into the world of the living. During the scenes with blue Fragile and Sam in the trailer, if we look at the ground in the armory and the hallways, we can see dancing water caustics. The beach has water, so does the seam. This is what makes me think that the Magellan is capable of travelling through the Seam and the Beach. Travelling through the Beach is what Fragile does a lot of in the first game and it is near instantaneous. It is how we fast travel. Not too big a stretch that with technological advancements, people have been able to harness the Beach and the Seam for covering large distances. There was already talk of the chiral network using the beach to transmit humongous amounts of data at crazy speeds.
We also literally see the Magellan act as a submersible, going under the black tar that the Death Stranding enveloped a lot of the world with. That may be how it accesses the Seam.

I think Higgs playing the guitar to attack is an homage to the Doof character in Mad Max Fury Road that stole the show when on screen and used a guitar doubled as a flame thrower. The fact that George Miller directed that movie and is in this game tells me that this was a deliberate choice, and it wouldn't surprise me if George Millers character actually dies to Higgs guitar.
I was hoping to hear Jacob talk about the Silent Hill 2 remake trailer. His video about SH2 was a large reason I ended up playing the original game and I really did not like this new trailer. Having an entire trailer showing of resident evil style combat with quick time events does *not* make me excited about the remake, and has turned me off of the remake completely
I'm really curious to see how people react to it. The story and atmosphere are amazing but the combat isn't the best imo so I wonder how modern audiences will find it.

I don't think that it's supposed to be overly weird so much as it's kinda just a nod.
This does give it more perspective even though I still found the scene to be incredibly lame. It worked in fury road but just came off as dumb in the trailer. Maybe when I actually play the game it won't feel as stupid.

Rise of the Ronin has 3 difficulty options. Good news for people who couldn't get into Team Ninja's previous games because of the difficulty. I can understand the impulse to compare the game to Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin's Creed, Like A Dragon, etc. There are similarities for sure. But ultimately combat is the focus and most unique thing in Team Ninja games. Just watch the trailer closely you can see so much complexity from the gameplay, like stances and parry, weapon switching, and I believe martial arts. I wish MinnMax would give some attention to that, instead of solely focusing on the setting and open world traversal.
As someone who has been critical of Janet's appearances on this show in the past, I am delighted to say that she has been great for a while now. Go Janet!

I get the hesitance regarding PHYSINT, but also, MGS 3 and MGS 4 are both really good, mechanically sound games, that are channeling film hard. MGS 3 is the closest any game has ever been to a James Bond film. I'm really looking forward to seeing whats in store.
GoldenEye is an example of the likeness rights being lost. When the GoldenEye game came out for the 360 it had Daniel Craig's likeness instead of Pierce Brosnan
Scratching my head at Kyle's take on Higgs' guitar. People have been using musical instruments to fight since there's been music. Maybe not literally, but Woody Guthrie put the message "This machine kills fascists" on his guitar in the 1940s.
Kojima always says that kind of stuff about his work. His new Metal Gear-like will be just that. Kojima's fine. No shade to him. I do wish people didn't get so mystified and worked up about everything he says though. We have the Kojima codex, we know how to translate what he says to plain english. All he said was "We're making a MGS knock off at Sony"s request. I still love movies and that influence will be evident." I'm sure some people will love it and some people bounce off. With plenty of hyperbole from both camps. It will be fine.
I'm really curious to see how the team feels about suicide squad once they've played it more. From what i've heard it starts surprisingly well and then gets quite repetitive. Plus from the clips i've seen... the writing is rough. Currently a 61 on metacritic which isn't the best start. On a brighter note I really can't wait for Death Stranding 2. I just love that first game so much.

I disagree with Geller on the effectiveness of this trailer for Stellar Blade because I really wasn't interested in that game at all until this extended look. Overall, I think that State of Play was a hell of a show that was very effective at getting me excited for some major PlayStation exclusives that I can get to once I finish Final Fantasy VII Rebirth however long that takes.

Can someone spoil everything about Death Stranding for me? the "questions" were fun, but what was mads mikelson? why did a squad of soldiers appear out of goo puddles to chase down Daryl for his bibi?
Mads was essentially a ghost whos unfinished business was his baby was experimented on and used for the Bridge Baby project, which facilitated the connection to "the beach" essentially purgatory. So throughout the game there are moments where Sam is dragged to purgatory because Mads is pursuing his BB.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand everyone's love for kojima. He designed a few quirky stealth games and now he is this "legend" game director? Death Stranding 2 looks like the brain child of an actual child. Guitar fighting? space ship flying out of a baby's mouth? He just seems to throw a bunch of quirky ideas together that are simply meant to confuse and everyone calls him a genius. Sorry if this seems harsh... i just really don't understand the love he gets
The man invented a game genre that's why. What you wrote "He just seems to throw a bunch of quirky ideas together that are simply meant to confuse" is 100% true but if you finish his games they all come together and make sense at the end which is an amazing thing to do. I hardly watch movies anymore before they are so predictable and formulaic but with Death Stranding I didn't know what was happening until towards the end and it all made sense and was a great story.

It seems that there are Kojima Stan’s who just love anything and everything he is involved in, and I respect that, but the mechanics of Death Stranding are so bizarre and not fun to play I personally am not going to play DS2. Hopefully the “espionage-action” game has some actual good gameplay, but it’s getting a bit old to bring Kojima out to talk about a game he hasn’t even started working on to describe vague ideas about those games

That's usually my issue with lotter shooters. Games like Borderlands and Anthem start off fun but get very repetitive and boring after a few hours.
