Thousands of people have turned out at a vigil at the University of Nottingham following the deaths of two students in a "horrific" incident that left three dead
Our Governments first job above all others is to keep our country and us safe. Well it’s failing to do it. I’m so angry and ashamed of how weak we have become. We don’t need any politicians to say yet again lessons will be learned.
The loss of life, and the trauma caused to those families is truly horrific, I can't even imagine what they're going through. I DO KNOW however, that 'thoughts & prayers' - endless pictures of flowers and candles being posted on social media, vigils, more candles and more flowers aren't going to fix a damned thing!! ...This should never have happened in the first place! - and if the home secretary and the border force did their job properly, it wouldn't!!! . I wish (and it's only a wish coz it probably won't happen), but i wish the families of the victims would take the Home Secretary to court, for failing to do their duty. They've let us down badly, so badly in fact, that 3 lives have been lost.
These poor kids are brainwashed into no critical thinking... If i bridge collapsed and killed 3 ppl, 2 young students with whole life infront of them. There would be a thorough investigation. We would look into everything about the bridge to make sure this doesnt happen again. But here we just get thoughts and prayers. No one angry and standing up?

Firstly, what happened here was horrific and should never have happened to these poor people. However, what is it with this utter virtue signaling trend of Vigils? The vast majority of people attending them never met the victims let alone knew them personally. Most just go to make themselves feel better that they did something and post it on social media. The fact is it is closing the stable door after the horse has bolted and is all too late. In a weeks time all these virtue signallers will be back to their normal lives and forgotten about it all. Time to end vigils and leave this as a private matter for the families to grieve and come to terms with what has happened.
