Since I have not been able to get Rumiano for months, I substituted Sierra Nevada Cheese Company Vat-Cultured European Butter Unsalted, Organic . It comes in 1 pound tubes so you need to eyeball or use a kitchen scale but the flavor is miles above Rumiano(and we have used Rumiano for years). It freezes wonderfully and keeps its creamy texture. I bought it on sale but it is spendy when not on sale but I probably will not go back to Rumiano--because the creaminess of the Sierra Nevada butter is far superior. So here is one customer that stopped ordering Rumiano so perhaps you will be able to get yours.
Canning apple pie filling, flavor, YT= Our gabled homestead .. technique YT= homesteading with the Zimmerman's.. from a book, Mennonite Country Style Recipes & Kitchen Secrets Esther H Shank ( its an older book I just ignore MSG references. Seriously, it's mostly basic ingredients.) I prefer clear gel but use non GMO/organic version. Have used tapioca/cornstarch too. Clear Gel holds better is thicker, and more convenient.
Using an an apple peeler and corer creates wonderfully thin even slices. If you " precook" less , because they are thinner..and let water bath do more of the cooking...apples come out crisper, continue to cook in whatever you bake them in. Also Whippoorwill homestead, has a WONDERFUL Unique recipe for plain **Apple Slices using a bit of "fermenting? " And apple cider! So delicious!
Love Mothers Choice regular butter. Interesting I haven't seen a problem freezing. Love it especially for baking! It has wonderful measurements on the sides of the butter and it comes in quaters! Tip= UNSALTED Mothers has " natural flavoring" in it.. so many now do. Why!! Its BUTTER! Doesn't need " flavoring!" Ughh!
Wow, great haul. I need to get my azure order together. Thanks for sharing.

Jessica from Three Rivers Homestead has a video about Six Ways to Preserve Apples. In the video she show how to do canning apples for pie filling.
I have canned tons of apple pie filling and peach pie filling also and I use clear gel purchased from Amazon. It turned out very good.
