Gm should have replaced that buzzer with the chime in 95 when they redesigned the interiors on these trucks. The buzzer sounds like a flatline alarm at a hospital when someone dies lol
I disagree and the 1999-2004 models SHOULD have kept that flatline buzzer sound as standard on the 1999 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra and the chime should be an optional choice.
If you're ever in a junkyard, look for chimes in the late 80's LeSabre, late 80's and some early 90's Electra/Brougham or 99-2000 Yukon Denali/Escalade. They've got chime modules that suit the truck a lot better than the early Camaro dingers. If you ever wanna know what they sound like just search videos of startups of the said vehicles. Bought a pink looking chime from a junkyard 88 Electra that seemed decent in my 94 Sonoma, up until I found a chime module from an 86 Vette. Chime from the Vette fits the smaller trucks much better.
Thank you for making this video! I don't mind the tone of the origonal buzzer, but the fact it does not shut off with the door open and the truck running drives me insane, but I didn't want to just remove it because then I would be clueless if I left my keys or left the headlights on. Thanks!
You sir are toooo kind! I loved annoying my friends with my door chime. Great memories for sure. I recently was working under the dash and drove myself insane. Now this is a must in 2020 for my sanity's sake.
Recently done something like this to my 1994 F-150. Truck originally had a buzzer, last month I swapped it with a 1992 F-150 chime. Nifty little dingers suit the older trucks more in my opinion.
I've had mine removed for the whole 5 years I've had the Yukon. Just thought I'd get a newer one to make a video of it, but I've also been known to accidentally keep my running light on. Hasn't happened in a good while but we'll see if I keep it in or just remove it since I'm not used to it having one.
@@DanielPace92 haha it’s been so long since I removed mine that before watching this video today I totally had forgotten my Tahoe ever had a buzzer... and as soon as he played the sound I instantly remembered why I yanked it out the first day I bought it. Haha
@@chrisv1546 I don't fully understand your question, I think you had a typo. If you are talking about the buzzer it's form a 1993 to 1998 Camaro with part number 14101255. If you are asking what GM is, it stands for General Motors.
@@chrisv1546 eBay. They pop up from time to time. You just have to keep checking back if there is not one already listed. As of now I don't see any listed.
Had one pop up on eBay - I have a saved search with the part number so when it was listed I got an email. They do not pop up very often due to not having many of them out there but also not many people think the buzzer is worth selling.
Yes, most people, including myself when I first got the truck, take it out with no issues. The only thing is it will not tell you if your seat belt it bucked or not since it runes through the chime module.

@@albertpintor3522 Will a scary buzzer from a 1981-87 Chevy Custom Deluxe fit into a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 in place of the chime?
@@Jac2Mac no way because the chime is part of the bcm computer
My 97 had a chime not a buzzer

A custom dinger module that emits 2021 Tahoe chime would be awesome.
I just randomly found this vid... I hate that buzzer and I’m glad I found this so I can remove it tomorrow early

I removed mine and it's now residing on a shelf somewhere in my garage. I don't miss it.
Just found one out of a 96 Camaro at a Pull A Part for $8.73. Works perfect 👌🏾
Where is it located on the camaro?
Does it sound the same?
Nice truck. Someone removed the beeper from my silverado before I bought it. Already drained the battery once from leaving the lights on.
This is awesome, I’d like to figure out how to tie it in to where the factory 4 prong buzzer is in my 83 gmc
Great video! Problem is that I can’t find the camaro chime anywhere lol

Great tip. Didn't even know i needed this in my life. Thank you
Cool and all, but I'll stick with mine being removed!

Daniel Pace the Camaro version is less annoying, I’ll give you that.

Just bought the standard model part (# 15969639 / solid buzzer) and it too fails to ring if you leave the dome lights on. FYI.
That chime sounds like a 2000s to 2010s Jeep in low pitch.
Very helpful video man. Ya learn something new everyday👍
I have a 94 Chevy K1500, is it the same process?
Yes, should be a very similar process. The convenience center below the dash should be in the same place.
Daniel Pace Thanks man, mine literally had no noise, but the truck was only $2500, so i cant complain
Can you put in a scary buzzer from a 1981-87 Chevy Custom Deluxe into this GMC Yukon?
do you know why my lights won’t come on when the door is opened but they work manually through the scroll
Do you know if it could fit my 1993 gmc sonoma
If the box looks like these with the plugs then it should.
Watched the video long enough to see where the buzzer was. Didn’t even know about the tab just pulled that thing out like a cracked out monkey
What would it be for a pontiac
Where did you order that Camaro module, I'm in San Antonio and can't find one...
I drive a 98 Chevy Silverado Z71...
Thanks in Advance!
Anyway I can do this in my 83 Chevy?
If the door chime box has the same pins and same pinout it should work. I don't have a square body around to check.
Is there any other model chimes that can be used for the obs
pretty much any '90, and early '00 GM vehicles and some older Jeeps. But the Camaro chime is the lease annoying.
@@DanielPace92 where do you Gm get yours

Would this be similar on a 04 Chevy blazer? I would like to change my door chime to a 07 and up Chevy trailblazer.
No, the newer s10/Blazer/Sonoma door chime is built into the body control module and is non changeable without modifying the body control module.
Daniel Pace oh ok that’s a shame lol but thanks for letting me know!
That sounds like a low pitch 2000s to 2010s Jeep.
U think it would work in the older Chevy express vans?
As long as they take the same style chome box, they should fit.
What about 22529441?
How did you find one? I can't seem to find a new one anywhere.

No auto parts store sell those door chime module
Thank you so much!
Sorry but I just like the old straight buzzer better when it comes to the OBS chevy trucks.
Agree its part of the truck the semi modern yet old school vibe.
Can you just delete it?

I’m going to do this since that’s the biggest snafu with leaning the headlights on 🪫
So many annoying things about this vid....watch strap, long fingernails, big wad of keys but still good info. 👍
