And “tow” feature that requires critically damaged ships to be towed back to port. That way you have to make decision to lose combat power to redeem the points
This series got me to reinstall War on the Sea and install the mod, where I have since "sunk" a battleship in the first week by watching it ram a merchant in Singapore. Fun times.
Killerfish really does not do AI well, which is the main reason I have found their games somewhat disappointing. I love the simplified arcade submarine combat in Cold Waters for those times I don't want to spend hours staring at a sonar waterfall in Dangerous Waters, or sweeping the seas for merchants in Silent Hunter. But the AI is so pants-on-head stupid that at lower difficulty levels it's a cakewalk, and the only way they could increase the difficulty was by allowing the AI to cheat so that every mission turns into an hour of underwater Top Gun as you dodge dozens of torpedoes that have 360 degree detection arcs, launched by enemies that know your exact position at all times.
I guessing the fact that DC got the fires out is what saved her, a ship has to be on fire in order for the game to decide whether or not to scuttle her.
I’ve been watching your older war on the sea videos, and I’m so glad you’ve kept an identical feel to them while also making them far more movie like! I wish I could do editing like this…

Then ship sailed 50 miles stern-first to Tulagi harbour where crew jury-rigged a temporary out of coconut palm logs and then sail another 1500+ miles stern-first to Sidney for dockyard repairs. 🙃
Is splitting fire between all the ships and not just destroying 1 then moving to the next a more efficient way to kill the ships as they seem to get an accuracy buff the more damage they take?
Thanks for another good episode. You should take the time in the next episode or the one after to go through the list of Japanese ships and see how many they've lost/have left. I've said this before but it's safe to say the Japanese have lost this war because of your resistance in the Java Sea. I really hope you continue this series until at least Singapore is back under Allied control.
There must have been at least 30 or more bomber sorties sent out in an attempt to at least hit an IJN ship with a >1% success rate yet here we are with our first Hurricane bombing run and it yields a ~50% success rate. Time to retire all of your twin engine bombers for fighters with bombs.
when i try to change the ammo type of one of my ships, it changes the ammo type for the whole squad... even when i am not changing the ammo type of the lead ship. how do i change the ammo type of just one ship while leaving the others to fire another type? you should do tutorials. i think you would be great at it.
It's weird, in my playthrough, Repulse is shown as available for recruitment for 70 command points, even though I know she was sunk before the start of this campaign.
Why not strafe from stern down whole length of the ship? More rounds would seem to make hits that way. I noticed when you attack from the side many rounds fall short or go to far but all or most of those would hit ship of you strafe it lengthwise. I think that strategy would work better but I could be wrong
One thing I think they should add to this game, is an abandon ship command, and life boats in the water, where you can pick up survivors.
This game has still so much potential. Unfortunately the developers went really silent in the last months.
It's not a bad idea.
More likely have the Japanese do."casual warcrimes" by firing on the lifeboats
And “tow” feature that requires critically damaged ships to be towed back to port. That way you have to make decision to lose combat power to redeem the points
Or having nearby ships assist, e.g. taking off the crew. Maybe pulling that off successfully could refund a small portion of the lost points?

Missed opportunity to make a "swarm of angry bees" task force with 20 Vosper MTB S1 Destroyer Escorts. Sad day, very sad.
I may try that haha
Sub 19 didn't go up and sink the other carrier and the battleships?
With her clear ambitions to join the submarine service you'd almost think Electra was a german destroyer...
Hey Wolfpack, you think you will play Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts?
when i try to change the ammo type of one of my ships, it changes the ammo type for the whole squad... even when i am not changing the ammo type of the lead ship. how do i change the ammo type of just one ship while leaving the others to fire another type? you should do tutorials. i think you would be great at it.
It's weird, in my playthrough, Repulse is shown as available for recruitment for 70 command points, even though I know she was sunk before the start of this campaign.
Repulse? Or is it Renown which is available in the campaign
@@simselmore5625 Ship name is Repulse.
@14:28 did anyone else hear a cat? Not bashing just asking so I know I’m not that crazy.
Yep. Sounds like Wolfpack resupplies his cat not as diligently as he is resupplying Java 😆
@@090giver090 Sadly, I have no cat :(. It is actually the soundtrack haha
Most dangerous job in the java sea working on a destroyer
Is this gane fully released or still in pre release like alot of games on steam?
Finally, a night engage
Why not strafe from stern down whole length of the ship? More rounds would seem to make hits that way. I noticed when you attack from the side many rounds fall short or go to far but all or most of those would hit ship of you strafe it lengthwise. I think that strategy would work better but I could be wrong
I'm amazed at how much ammo those fighters carry, multiple strafing runs, really?
game is on sale for 20 bucks right now.
Good to know!
Everybody target the same ship, get them sunk much faster
Every ship alive is firing, kill them one at a time rapidly, spreading fire allows them to yeet things back at you
