The genius of John Hughes right here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was actually knocked over 4 times. In the wide shot of the police officer ringing the doorbell the statue's knocked over again.

Which causes it to break off, since we don't see the stand. This implies that the statue suffered repeated blows between the third instance in the first movie and the sequel. Enough blows and constant exposure to the elements broke down the statue's structural integrity to the point that it breaking was inevitable.
0:27 I don't know if it's me, but I think those same guys broke the statue off at the feet. In these three shots, the square part that was on the soles of the feet were still on the pedestal. Unless they called someone to weld it after that movie ended, there would be no way that statue would stand on its own two feet again.
It's a lawn jockey. They aren't as abundant anymore, but at one time wealthier, fancier homes would often have one in front of the house as a nod to the Old South aesthetic. It's basically a statue depicting a horse jockey holding up a hook as if to hitch a horse.
Usually painted black with visibly red lips, a caricature of blacks, and considered racist by many still. Perhaps this knocking down of the lawn jockey was an implicit anti-racist message.
The pizza guy needs to work on his driving skills because the reason why he knocked the statue over twice was because he’s speeding. If he could never figure out why then he’s an idiot.

Thank you. Except he didn't even bother to pick it up. As if the police don't look bad in the movie already.

In the sequel, we see an O'Hare shuttle hit it

The pizza guy has no idea how to drive
Back then, the policy was if the pizza doesn't arrive in 20 minutes, it's free.

Same statue that is outside Jake Ryan's house in Sixteen Candles, except it's painted in Sixteen Candles.

That's a bad place to put that statue closer to the driveway.

What is the statue a statue of? Nero was the Roman ruler who was symbolized as 666 in the book of Revelation.
horse jockey: another word to say horseman: he's knocked three times here, and once in the sequel, as a nod to the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
How did any of these people get a driver's license
Probably got it out of a Cracker Jack box.
The Little Neros Pizza delivery car is a 1985 Dodge Omni.
The same statue is in Adventures in Babysitting Chris Columbus directed both movies the Adventures in Babysitting the statue is painted
They should move the statue in a different spot. The poor thing constantly keeps getting knocked over. Lol
