Wow! Almost at 100K woohoo. Hooligans is a great word for them. lol As for Lumpy, just give him the best life you can until it's time. You all are great people!!! God bless.
Well, Dusty. I'm in London and, at the moment, the temperature is way up in the nineties. I find that the only way to keep cool is to sit with my feet in a bowl of cold water, so I have sympathy with your bison!
Thank you for taking care of Lumpy. Sigh. Once you’ve finished fixing the water valve, you can set up a gofundme for a bison mud spa and hot tub. Fun! God bless you guys, you continue to be in my prayers.
Love the updates !! I’m so glad Big Joe is showing signs of happy with his new ladies ! I hope to see new baby’s from Big Joe come 2022 ! And I’m sure Dunbar will do his job since he only has 2 to bread with ! Giving him a break since he did so well for this year . Still waiting patiently for the last red dog !! Love seeing them all ! A great year for you all !
If you can't make a pond for them, how about setting up a sprinkler to give them some relief on the really hot days? Lumpy's beginning to sound like a cull.
Hooligans was funny. Looks like it's going to work. Happy to hear about Big Joe getting along with the ladies. Hope you have a wonderful evening. Love you guys.
I think there is a consensus on a pond ❗️ Dunbar looked like he wanted to squeeze into that little tub, ha!! Glad everyone seems to accept the switch and now it’s about dealing with the heat- thanks for keeping us posted Dusty as you do- you work so hard❣️🥰
Dusty the poor bison are hot they say the need a cold bath. I understand they can't break your equipment or they won't have water. It is a young heifer. Glad you showed us the young heifers and bulls. Sorry lumpy is limping. He has had his fair share. Like your short clips as well as the long ones. I see Big Joe is on the job already. Good video.
I love, love these videos!!! Dunbar said "my tub, my water and yes, bigger tub would be great!' I thought he was going to put his bag leg in there at the end.
@@karensweet6530 well that's how bison stayed cool in the wild. Creeks and mud wallows. It would get expensive to pump water into it all the time but if you could keep them with a wet area or pond during the summer may benefit your bison

Problem with concrete is big animals slip and injure themselves badly. Many can't get up and sustain nerve damage or bleed out from internal injury. It's really great you are thinking of ideas to make these beautiful animals more comfortable.
Contact Vet Ranch, Dr. Matt Carriker's charity. Lumpy would not be a charity case but if you check their YT channel, they have fixed all sorts of extremely challenging cases - they might know a veterinary surgeon who could do it, if your local one can not. Also, what @Pamela Crowell suggested: a vet school might be interested for educational purposes. Poor Lumpy, he has had such hard luck so far, he could do with your help.

While we were there we stopped to see a farmer's herd of Bison. Huge males. It was in the summer. I wanted to more but my family was hungry. You have set up compared to the other man. The behavior of the bison just generates more work. Dusty appears to have solved the problem of keeping the bison from stepping into the drinking water tire. Glad to see you got the hay baled. I hope Big Joe does his thing.
Dusty, love watching big Joe. He didn’t waste any time. It doesn’t look good for lumpy. You can see it progressing. These bison are are innervating about keeping cool. Smart animals…
Hahaha! Back in the 1970's, there was an auto waterer designed for horse stalls. It was a small bowl with a paddle that the horses could press with their nose to open the valve. We installed some. The horses figured them out quickly. There are equine hooligans too! Some found it entertaining to hold the paddle down that allowed water to flood the stall!
Dusty you need a water pond for the bison to stay cool. Big Joe is looking good with all his new ladies. Dunbar looks good in his very small tub to stay cool. Love you guys. 🥰❤💖🦬🦬

You should do an area like one of those wading pools that slope in, you poor some concrete so it doesn’t constantly run since you already have the pipes running for the water. Then they could go in there and cool off.

Just an idea but maybe you can make a watering hole big enough for them to roll around in in the middle of the pasture, with the automatic water feed
