Can't wait for SW4 Remastered on PS6 in 2029, as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the series
KT is always self sabotaging with greedy pricing. It's not that the prices are unreasonable, it's that they never adjust price down years after release. Or in this case releasing a decade old game with a fresh coat of paint for $50 when it should be $30. As always, I'll wait for the sales.
They need to port Empires version to PC which features more in depth gameplay.

I loved SW2 Empires and the DW versions of Empires (mainly 5, 7 & 8) so I am sure SW4 Empires will be fun too

Too bad that the heirlooms/epiphany skills got removed in Empires. They made the gameplay better IMO.

Not playing as Naomasa Ii doesn't even bother me.. I'm glad this game has been released on pc, here's hoping we get SW4 Empires..
I never played the original Samurai Warriors 4 back in PS4 10 years ago, so this is a definite Steam collection for me
As an owner of the PS3 version of SW4(Yes, it had a PS3 release), I may grab this. Games have too much dlc nowadays so any chance to get somevalue for that seems decent. Still kinda wish they'd remaster DW5 or SW2 over this, given those games are stuck on ancient hardware.
My first time was 4-2, also on Ps3. I don't really know how much was unique to 4-2 though
or a DW4 remaster, my favorite game in the series.
I actually find it a truly fascinating corporate decision. Is this an experiment to find out if 4's style has traction with an audience today? If so, I'm curious what the result will be. I loved that game, its sequel and Spirit of Sanada immensely.

As someone who looks forward to the next Samurai warriors title, this release came as a surprise but a welcome one considering I have not played this particular title yet.
Love the positive vibes bro. I just wish they included empires as well for that price point. I loved the game back then but it feels sucha cash grab to regrab with a FEW NEW features . Ill prob wait for the next one new warriors franchise or for the orochi 4 dx version

I get re releasing a decade old game is frustrating and all, but I'm guessing this is just an appetizer for the 20th anniversary. Tokyo Game Show is coming let's see what KT is cooking for the Warriors games..
hmm i kinda want to consider to play samurai warrior again, the latest i played was SW 2 XL afterall. but subjectively speaking, which do you recommend? SW 4DX or SW5? differ only 10 buck but no significant graphic after all i see
Subjectively I'd still go with SW4 DX, just because there's more characters, more stages & stories. Just a lot more replay value overall! Plus if you're going to pick up SW4 DX instead of SW5, you'll have all of the additional costumes, scenarios & weapons included. I still really like SW5 tho, but purely based on value for your dollar, you're better off with SW4 DX imo

Does anyone have the proplem when play this game the generic officer and peon have diffence color than there faction color ( like Oda clan have the Hojo faction color and the Uesugi have the Mori color) this also happen to the enemy officer and peon

Played most of the dynasty warriors games and like them. Always been curious about samurai warriors and debated playing the games
From an understanding the lore of what happens in the overall story perspective is this game a good starting point?
My first Musou game and it got me hooked. It's definitely smart they are doing re-releases (if done right and not sloppy ports), as it will grow the fanbase overall. I will be looking forward to purchase other titles from now on for sure. I agree that the price tag should have been between 30-40$ considering it's an older title, but judging by how much content there is, I can easily sink in at least 60 hours of gameplay with story and chronicles mode on hard, so for a new player the price is justified (tho long time fans should have gotten a discount).
I bought SW4-II on steam, not knowing it doesn't include "the main story" (oda, tokugawa, takeda, etc) so I was a little bit disappointed for that.. I've never played the vanilla before since I don't have any console with me, so I'll consider buying this SW4 DX when it is on sale
I will admit that I very much empathize with both perspective. Kingdom Hearts just announced it's Steam port and as a guy who played most KH games I didn't care and was kinda annoying we are getting 50 re releases rather than a new game
But Samurai Warriors 4 DX, it means the world to me. I have been looking for ways to play original SW4 on PC for several years since I don't own any console it is released on, I even desperaty 2 months ago downloaded a PS3 and PSP emulator even though deep down I knew they wouldn't work, so I am happy I got some resolution and we got a proper PC release for what I hear is one of the best warriors games, better late than never!
But I do understand your point with it being associated with every anniversary, I think a new spin off or even a collection of 1XL to 4 (especially 3XL which we never got in English) would've made much more sense
Appreciate your perspective on this, I’m definitely glad to see that people can finally enjoy SW4 on the PC, especially if they haven’t before. It’s easily one of the better Koei Warriors game

I have a question if you kindly have time to spare, as a SW-only fan, what game would you recommend for me to get into Dynasty Warriors. my favorite aspect about SW is the story and characterization, (SW2 is my first game so it definitely made me fall in love because of how it excelled at that), so which DW game would you say is the best entry point in that regard

If story is the most important element to you, then I’d go DW7. If you’re wanting the most complete experience, DW8 has everything with more features, characters, weapons etc (with maybe a slightly weaker story than DW7)
Very funny since I was actually trying to do the same thing with the PS3 and Vita emulator to find any way to play SW4 just for when I finally gave up, this port got shadow dropped lol

what I might do is watch DW7's story to see if I am interested in the stories and characters of DW, and if so, I will play DW8 myself to get the full experience.
4 was certainly amazing but I am not ready to put any of the main titles ahead of the Warriors Orochi series. It showed the potential of doing an original story and adding characters from other time periods, lore and stories. And mixed both Warriors franchises.
It is still the standard in my opinion.
Have played DW8 and OW3 and 4 on steam, just missing the SW series. Definetly buying it when its on sale.
I think it's great that this game came out with all DLCs at a lower price, but I just do not understand why it couldn't have been released worldwide on PS4/5 and NSW, those that stick to only one platform and such. I get that the original game is still there on those consoles but it literally could have gotten people buying it there too.
Does it have the limited Japan exclusive “Taiga Drama” edit parts/costumes? Or are those DPC not included?
Since Samurai Warriors 4 dx was dropped on steam, before it came out i play Dynasty warriors 8 empire and it fun but only issue is was Cloud save, i say it because i lost all my data and start over again many times, so do you think Samurai 4 dx has Cloud save?,i need to make sure before i buy it so i won't have a same mistake again
It says on the steam store in the games information if the games has cloud save or not btw
@@treaon511 yeah, it said it has Cloud save but we won't know for sure until we bought game and try find out ourselves but it expensive now so , let's just wait for offers sales

While I can understand why some wouldn't really be hyped about this re-release, I for one, am just glad that they finally released it for pc and I suppose the fact that they also released it on the series' 20th anniversary is a nice touch.
Since I mainly play on pc, SW4ii and SOS were the best I could get and since Koei isn't exactly fond of releasing all their titles for pc I figured I'd play SW4 with an emulator like RPCS3 one day, but I guess this release changes that plan which I'm glad.
Overall, I'm just happy that it's finally available for pc, just like warriors orochi 3 Ultimate which also got released for pc on 2022.
I'd love a remaster of all the old maps in both Dynasty and Samurai Warriors and have them all cross over in a new Warriors Orochi!
I haven't played a SW game ever but I sunk hundreds of hours into both DW and WO and am planning on buying this game as my intro to the series and hope I have fun with it enough to buy other titles when they come out or maybe SW5

I'd buy it when it goes on sale as I've hit pretty much max fun on it on my ps4. Otherwise I'm kinda glad Koel did something like this in celebration.
Actually I personally enjoy playing KT games with empire spinoffs, I did play SW4 Empires back then, of course SW2 Empires on PS2,
I really wish KT could release SW4 / 5 Empire available on Steam with reasonable pricing.
After watching this video, I may rethink to grab this game with current price tag, maybe it would be worth for me to grab this on sale like u mentioned.
Im not heavily accustomed to SW, but its sad to see you pointing out the releases of warriors games before SW4 & DW8 were abundant and fresh and since then they both have been dragged through the mud. Im hoping and praying the next iterations blow us away or it could be the end of our fave series.. until someone else takes over 😎😎

I got the feeling that DX release is a way Koei put away the fires due to SW5. A sideline irony is that: Nobunaga's Ambition, intended to only build worlds around Nobunaga actually include the whole realm of Sengoku Period. SW5 is vice versa. I'm just going to wait for a price drop before purchasing it, in order to fill in what SW4II can't provide.
I bought this game earlier this year but got the Japanese PS4 version. Almost have it platinumed and it is basically the vanilla Samurai Warriors 4
I would have really loved if this was 4 and 4-II. If that was the case, even if it was a little more expensive, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I hope they add in the empires version down the line, then we will have an empires of dynasty and samurai warriors to enjoy on steam.
I still haven't played any of the Atelier games because of Koei refusing to put ANY of their games below 30 unless they've got a complicated relationship with fans (even DW9 is still like 28 on sale for the complete edition)
I can only hope this version goes to Playstation as well.
My main reason for not buying 4 DX is solely because I need Warriors titles to be rereleased like the Atelier Trilogies have been.
I want to see Warriors games within the same 'generation' rereleased w all their DLC and accompanying Empires or sequels as a single, beautiful bundle. I would love to see Warriors given that 'evergreen' treatment.
Honestly, since my only exposure to SW4 is WO4 Ultimate, this seems like a decent thing to go for when I get the chance
I might miss Naomasa, given he became my go-to for farming rare weapon mods thanks to his INSANE hyper attack range, but I could make do without
WO4U has become somewhat stale for me, since they have very few maps, making most stages just repeat the same one, as well as very little to do outside of getting the 5th weapons from infinity mode, which is getting repetitive
getting 100 of the 5th weapons is the only achievement I'm missing, and I've probably got more than half of that, but damn is it boring these days
Sengoku basara heroes is my favorite musou then Gundam musou 3 and then Fire emblem warriors. This one is my favorite on my vita. Oh and Warriors orochi 3 ultimate.
If I hadn't already played SW4 and 4-II to death on the PS4 when they came out, this would be more appealing, but for me at least, I'll keep my money. That said, it's nice to have the game on Steam for newer players, even if it's a cashgrab, it's still better to have than not.

Overall its fine to me at least, Yea for people who already played these titles for years on end it probably sucks that the yearly release is a game that's only on PC and a re sale at that. But for me this port couldnt come at a better time for someone who only have a Switch and Steam deck. Not gonna argue thats its wrong to be disappointed with this port but for me I'm really glad that it happened
Totally understand your point, it’s great that people who couldn’t play the game before can finally do so now. It’s just kind of a weird feeling to have I suppose, on one hand it’s disappointing that it’s another re-release, but on the other hand I’m really happy that it’s an opportunity for newcomers or longtime fans to experience one of the better Koei games on the PC
@@KoeiKollection Ya them releasing all these older/more well accepted games definitely feels like Koei damage control after DW9,SW5, and WO4 we're either flops or made the fans very disappointed in the release. I do wonder though, if for the SW 20th anniversary we got a SW5XL or empires would people be less disappointed 🤔

you know, i've been strictly a PC player for argueably all of my life, i never owned any type of console in my life at all, but i've been such a diehard warriors fan that i was sad that most other warriors games aren't on pc ,, i was overjoyed seeing this release while it may seem like a red flag to others, im really happy it's finally released on PC after many years of coping since 2016
I never played SW4, so this was an insta buy for me when it dropped

If they really wanted new players to try the genre they would put the warrior games more on sale.
Even their older games are almost never on a good sale.
It's not bothering me personally but my friend refuse to buy them because of the price.

Personally Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is the best Musou game in my humble imo. I'm am glad these games are getting ported its just weird that most of the Musou games are Japanese exclusive on the Switch.
I never played the original SW4 game, so this was a surprise for me. I hope that the next Dynasty Warriors game is like 8 in terms of gameplay. We really don't need another Empires version.

Yeah console games do this a lot where the games never drop in price, ever. Steam is a lot better for this overall.

I find it kind of a weird move to re-release the vanilla game as a "new gen port" rather than the latest game "4-II". I know that imma buy it anyways, especially that the 4-II version is not very playable on PC for the controller issues that it has.
I am disappointed by SW 4II lack of chronicle mode. Finally i can play the original SW4 on pc. Now if only we got the empire...

Re-releasing a decade-old game at that price is a bit naughty naughty, hihihi! It's a decent deal for newcomers, but for longtime fans, it feels a tad disappointing. Hopefully, we'll see something fresh and exciting from them soon, hihihi!

Didn't really mind not one bit the lack of female characters since the story of 5 just really didn't give much of any room to focus on them ngl. Then seeing how they relesed SW4 on PC rather a 5XL which in theory would've made more sense its VERY safe to say, we aren't getting it and definitely not a SW6 release because we haven't gotten a new DW or WO and 5 only just came out like 3 years ago

Koei is being slow and disappointing lately they were SO GOOD in ps3 era I’m rlly in a mood for a good new dw game and sw5 was a big step in sw series backwards at least for me :( I love these games and it feels like the last games they made were dw8 and sw4 since dw9 and sw5 were bad (at least for me I act they dnt exist)

In all seriousness. As somebody who's last Warriors game was Samurai Warriors 3 on the Wii, I do appreciate them releasing all of the newer Musou games to PC. And unlike PC ports of Square Enix games, it seems like Koei Tecmo PC ports actually work!

And two other things. 1, seriously, why do we not have the switch version over here? that goes for Warriors Orochi 3, and Dynasty Warriors 8 too sir.
And 2, yeah, it probably would've been a better idea to hire a team of devs to make some sort of collection or get some cool merch out instead of rereleasing the same game again, at least with anniversary collections and merchandise, it's making sure newer fans can play the older games, or it's something new, made just for the anniversary, heck if they hire a compony outside Koei for the collection, like how Capcom hired I think it was Digital Eclipse for the Street Fighter anniversary collection, and some other rereleases, that way they can focus on the new games, and still rake in some extra cash at the same time.

And I totally agree with your second point too, maybe Koei isn’t large enough to take on an extra team to focus on an alternative/remaster project? Either way, doing something different rather than re-releasing the same game 3 times in a decade would be a lot more preferred haha
SW4 was pretty bleh to begin with, not sure why anyone would buy it again. Koei Tecmo desperately needs to release something new. And preferably something that doesn't suck.

It is kind of manipulative to rerelease a game saying its an anniversary especially with how big the gaps are.
I kinda understand Warriors games taking longer to release on steam as these games are notoriously awful when they are ported to PC and at times the switch. Although the ladder of it being easier managed by lowering the cap framerates or whatnot.
So i can see some argument there about it not being on PC like a year or so later due to actually having to rework the game to fit PC and not well crash or worse
But 10 years is doubtful.
If anything we should be wary of such releases

I couldn’t agree more, definitely in two minds about it. On one hand it’s great that this awesome title is finally available on PC, but on the other hand it feels kinda feels a little half-hearted or lazy to just rerelease older successful titles
