When KT Released SW4 EX on Steam, they should have Re-Release 4-II.

You basically beat the normal version of Zhang Liao in 3. If you want the powered up version and the cutscene of him going at Sun Quan, you need him to defeat Taisi Chi and then he will retreated for a while, then he will appear near Sun Quan after Quan jumped the bridge and retreated to the main camp

The Zhang Liao cutscene in DW9 is Zhang Liao's ending cinematic. His story campaign ends after the Battle of Hefei, so the ending narration plays it as Wu attacking Hefei again, and Zhang Liao riding off to intercept them.

Zhang Liao's cutscene against Sun Quan will happen in DW3 when you let him kill Taishi Ci and let him retreat, then assist Sun Quan jumping over the bridge when he is near it. Wait a little, then Zhang Liao will charge Sun Quan.

Ya know this battle against Zhang Liao always stood out to me in DW 4, 5 and 6 But in the later games it really started to lose steam i was more disappointed in 8s version as they usually try to make it well done cinnematic wise. It is like at some point taken for granted which is a shame. That stand from Zhang Liao really had a big impact against Wu and humbled them as Zhang Liao learned from Weis failures previously. Difficulty wise it is definitly mixed it seems way less consistent compared to the Lu Bu fight makes me thinl they failed to catch that lightning in the bottle twice or didnt try as hard enough. Great video this is funnily a great history lesson as well as ranking on how the games developed stages and special events. Definitly worth the effort. Now lets Rank every Craig from DW4 to DW9 empires. (Create a Craig or Cac.)

I like 4-II more because it brought back survival mode

ploughing through the small fry and then being stopped by a big wall of an officer is how DW used to be back in 3 and 4 so I'm loving the return. The enemies stopped being relevant after that and challenges just became "how fast can you turn around to discover the secret area inside the shoguns castle" or "run to the other side of the map to kill the unmarked officer with a slight buff who is standing 5 miles away from the battle without letting your ai camp fall". now the challenge is back to big man with hammer is big and you need to kill him.

I played SW4 on the PS3 and then 4-II on PC and by far, 4-II is just an inferior revamped version of the game. I'm so glad we have 4DX on PC now. SW4 taking the DW7/8 route of faction storylines is a way better narration style than the traditional individual stories. In SW4, character leveling is super simple, and the items are shared. In 4-II, unlocking the skill chart for each character is VERY tedious and you also lose the fun of collecting unique character items. In term of weapons, while both games have random weapon drops, in SW4, the gem system is still easier to work with than the merging system in 4-II. (Spirit of Sanada's weapon crafting is probably the best when it comes to player choice, though it takes a seriously long time to gather the materials)

i needed this video was not sure which one to get and 4 2 is more like the 3rd one piece warriors game which is what i licked gameplay wise pirate warriors 4 is as bad as samurai 5 and dynasty 9 so thanks for showing this

The crazy thing is that I had this same exact experience when I went to get back into the warriors franchise. I asked the game stop employee what’s the difference and they said 4 II was the improved version. I went against their judgement and got 4. After beating it, I was like well damn if 4-II is even better, then it’ll be a hell of a game. Traded in that copy of 4 for II and regretted it. I never saw another copy of 4 in my area and I wish I never got rid of it. I eventually got it for the ps3 but i was sad I even did that

SW4 was like a Beta Released Game then SW4II was like the Main Game.

Can't wait for an another Warriors game goes on Steam after Dynasty Warriors: Origins in January 2025. But, I have Samurai Warriors 4 DX on Steam already as of Christmas and I have the Japanese version of the game itself on Switch in 2020.

I wish I saw this sooner….. I bought both of them because I thought if I played 4 first, my characters would get transferred over to 4-II🤦🏻‍♂️

Nice video bro! I bought a SW4, and I didn't regret it. Looking at SW4-II, it looks like an empty game, as I noticed there are no cutscenes that hooked you like in SW4. About the sw4-II raisin, All these fixes, imo, are not so important, but a bug with a horse, lol

Samurai warrior 4 III

I agree that Musou games can be a comfort game for many people. I play Musou games because mowing thousands of peons can feel therapeutic to me. I don't care if I set the difficulty to low, as long as I can farm those KOs, I'm having a blast and that is the important thing. For my favorite Musou game, it has to be DW8CE because that is the peak DW game right before DW9. Lots of contents, characters, you won't be bored playing this game for long.

"Remixing" wasn't as elegant as just having original game save data, at least not for most of them like in PS2 games, you had to eject the xl disc, insert the original disc, eject the original disc and insert the xl disc again. You even have footage of sw2 asking to insert and eject discs. If was a pain to do so all the time, all to just unlock what already was on the xl disc.

DW7 & DW8 suffered the same flaw. Copies/clones of the same moveset but a unique EXP move and Musou for each character.

All I'm gonna say as far as the Lu Bu - Tadakatsu debate is that I've never been 1-2 shotted by Keiji with a max-level character.

I just found out that Capcom once had Sue Koei. Capcom also has a musou game called Sengoku Basara but they are not confident enough to leave Japan.

SW4 did have notoriously bad battle text lag. You sometimes miss important queues because dialogue text takes so long to transition. I think they fixed it in II

5:52 - Yeau but the difference between that and this here is that FF13-2 actually WAS an entirely new entry. Yeah it used the same battle system, albeit a more refined one, but it also had a whole new storyline with multiple end points, a whole bunch of DLC of its own AND new characters and assets to go with it. So much if that can't be considered much of a similar or same thing as Samurai Warriors here as these are LEGIT SEQUELS!

Here is one thing they both have though: YOUR ALLIES ARE CRAP!! THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING. THEY ARE WORSE THAN THE ALLIES FROM DW8!!

As much as I love the Warrior games, I HATE this practice of multiple skus for the same title. What makes it more infuriating is they don't exactly give you enough info to know if it's really worth it to buy it again so I typically don't or wait years later to buy any of their games in the first place. I imagine I won't get to Dynasty Warriors Origins until the 2030s.

It's also not 2 it's samuari warriors 4 Li technically as how it's meant to be said as it's about the Li clan
