- At the beginning of the 1950s, Hungary was the best national team in the world and played a very modern style of football, based on collective movement, quick combinations and a few tactical innovations, like Nandor Hidegkuti in a False 9 role. dont forget to also say that this team invented the famous *midfield rotation* which is a tactic that now is mostly used in the front of the field with the strikers

my father was part of the golden program from ages 11 to 18, until the revolution. He could balance a golf club on his nose, like a penguin. When I was 17, I was recruited by my country's national soccer program.

@@davisbaumberger6887 I do now, wow. He was born three years before my father, so I'm sure my father knew him. My father trained with the golden team pretty regularly. I inherited all that soccer genetics, the moment I touched a football, no one could take it away from me, and no one could get by me either. The funny thing is, I was a natural leftie brought up as a righty, so even though I played at about 20% of my overall ability, I was still considered one of the best players in the world. So you can draw your own conclusions from that....

But they were so good up front and were 1 game away from achieving everything they possibly could have losing in wet conditions when Germany had boots better equipped for that to nick a 3-2 win from 2-0 down. Kocsis was called golden head in Spain and Kocka in Hungary.
