What no one seems to be talking about is.. they very clearly paralleled the 2nd one in a lot of ways, including the killer reveal. If the plan for 7 is to have parallels to 3, then it’s all about taking it back to the beginning and changing things up. It’d be about Richie not actually being the orchestrator of this new trilogy. Stu convincing Richie and Amber would parallel Roman with Billy and Stu.
The reveal would be so nice. Especially us viewers and Sam and Tara's friends would expect it to be someone close in their circle or whatever. when Ghostface unmasks himself and it's Stu, everyone will be shocked.
I think if they bring Stu back in the next movie, he needs to be incredibly dark and scary and I know that Matthew Lillard can make the performance be epic
I really want Stu to be back but part of me will also not enjoy that Stu is the mastermind or killer cause it is too predictable and it will create a bunch of plot holes that the writers have to write.
@@MustafaAli-lb8dq we don’t know who killed who in Scream 1. It could’ve all been Stu. And he definitely planned some of what him and Billy did. Also, assuming he’s alive, he’s had almost 30 years to plan things out and pick up new antisocial skills and become more of a praying mantis kind of killer. He’d be in his late 40s or early 50s depending on when he’d come back, and he’d have a lot of time to change how his mind works in all this time. Matter of fact, he was meant to be alive and be the mastermind manipulating a ghostface cult from jail in 3. Stu is not stupid, he was merely lying and pretending to be dumb to not raise suspicions.
You can do something special with it because he was so close to Billy. Like how does Stu feel about Billy having a daughter does he want to kill her drive her crazy or make her a Ghostface killer like him and Billy so she can carry on the legacy of him and Billy maybe he wants to mentor her. There's a lot of directions you can take that storyline.
I was never sold on the Stu being swapped for a real dead body theory, but, after Scream 6, seeing what Det. Bailey and Quinn pulled off, I am open to any possibility now. Bring on the Stu.
I saw a tik tok vid of a girl mentioning this theory but add the half sibling element to it. Roman was Sid's half brother so maybe if Sam is being considered as the "final girl", Tara could be behind it with their mom which then could tie back to Stu!
@@Melissa_Connollyot Tara necessarily. Probably another secret sibling, that either of their parents had, and said parents maybe as well. They wouldn’t do that with Tara, especially after keeping Chad alive. Plus I feel that it could be anyone, not necessarily Stu.
For me I kind of want it in 8, but with a Stu reveal in 7, so 7 does what no Scream has done yet, lets the killer win in the end and walk away, setting up the epic rematch for 8, think it could be spectacular if they did this with us knowing for a full year or 2 years whatever that Scream 8 and Stu is back to finish what he started, book it for 2026 so it's like a 30 year anniversary.
I think they could easily connect Jason and his partner to the Cult of Stu storyline. If they go with Stu leading a large group of copycat killers in Scream 7, he could literally say “I almost got this going last year, but Detective Bailey and his stupid kids got in the way.”

Yeah, the attack on Gale seemed very personal. Same with Dewey in Scream 5. I believe they "secretly" leaning to Stu's return. Where it all leads (and concludes) to Ms. Prescott.
I think there is a real possibility that Stu could come back. That line from Kirby wasn't a throw-away line. "If you believe he's dead" I think the seeds are being planted and that Kirby is on to something, or maybe she knows more than she's letting on. Besides this is a new trilogy so to speak. Randy's trilogy rules. "Forget what you know about the past". Maybe Stu is the mastermind and was involved the whole time. It would clean up a lot of plot holes. Who knows, maybe nothing comes of it. I'm just glad Scream is doing well.
*Mindy said it into response to Kirby. Everyone on reddit chalks it up to poking fun at the fan base that still believe Stu is alive, personally I could see it interpreted both ways. It would be awesome if he was the one that influenced Richie and got the parts moving imo. I'm fine with it either way, but if Chad can get stabbed 100x and survive and Quinn can throw a 200 lb man through a window in Scream universe, I'd be okay with the hoops they'd have to jump through to explain him surviving.
@Kyle Campbell you're right about the line. I could have worded that sentence better. I'm with you on being fine either way if Stu comes back or not. I think Chad has more stab wounds than Dewey at this point. It'll be interesting to see where Scream 7 goes with the story.
Maybe his sister who we found out he has that was mentioned in the last movie Leslie Macher I think her name is maybe she be Ghostface in 7 but then again I don't want a rinse and repeat of the revenge motive.
I could also see Radio Silence totally inverting the Stu hype by having Stu break into the Carpenter's house when Sam freaks out and demands him to take off his mask, Stu casually does so laughing at her intensity reminding him of Billy saying "I'll be seeing you" boom opening titles. Have Stu really be alive but the only person who knows is Billy's daughter constantly doubting her sanity while Stu wants "to make her a star"?
I still think that he's alive. I think he masterminded the events of scream 5 and 6, I still believe that it was him who kill-ed Dewey and not Amber, and I think he was the one who attacked Gale.

‘Tell Sidney, he didn’t get me.’ This line bugged me, it was well delivered but it’s so out of place. That said, if Stu is back, Sid and Gale could suspect they’ve been dealing with something unusual since part 4 or after Dewey died. There could be a connection as far back as 2 but I’d probably focus on the online community part, as it more directly impacts the more recent movies. It could go a ways to explain why Gale wrote a book, if Sid asked her too. They can’t let him know they’re on to him. I’ve always wanted Sidney to go full Nancy on a Ghostface as tribute to Wes’s final girls. Need an damn good Ghostface to make it work though. Gale putting Ghostface on hold was priceless.

I think he might be alive tbh. They made a whole ass point in the reveal of VI about how a cop can cover up their child’s death with prosthetics and swapping out bodies, etc. PLUS the whole “if you believe he’s really dead” exchange can’t be just a coincidence, they definitely want that option there going forward 😂
My main thing with the Amber killing Dewey debate is that even Neve has said that ghostface needs to be looked at as its own thing during these scenes. It's never come off as a pothole to me.
At the end when detective Bailey was talking about how easy it was to swap out a body I immediately thought they were throwing that out there because of all of these theories

Never bought the Stu just wanting to kill the legacy characters thing, Sid yes, Gale maybe, but Dewey? Why Dewey? Dewey did nothing to Stu or Billy or anyone really in Scream 1, so why would he matter to Stu? He matters to us the audience, he matters to fanboy and fangirl Richie and Amber, but why does he matter to Stu? There is a reason for it obviously, my thinking is anything that can hurt Sid they are the kills Stu wants for himself, and also I can see Stu at this point like Mike kind of said being like you wannabe's can't hang with the OG's, so he's stepping up to take them out for that on top of the fact that taking out Dewey in 5 and if they took out Gale in 6, those kills would be the ones to draw Sid back into the fight and hurt her, because killing Sam, Tara or the twins? Well we are in this “requel” of the franchise. These two new movies are paralleling the first two films in many ways like having the boyfriend be the killer in the first installments and the family wanting revenge in the second installments. Stu being alive would greatly parallel Roman’s role in Scream 3 as the mastermind that’s been around since the beginning and orchestrated everything
I still feel like, if Stu is alive or not I still think the cult could happen, and I also think that if it’s not Stu, it could be his sister going around and planning all this or maybe there’s a mastermind out there killing just because someone was home. I also think that Sam is gonna be ghostface but maybe a anti hero type ghostface, or just a anti hero. As for the bodega scene, I think it was Detective Wayne who killed the bodega Owner with the shotgun, he’s a cop and he is trained to use shotguns including sawed off ones, and he was also smarter, when he was shooting the glass windows on the ice boxes, he was using that tactic so he can hear Sam and Tara’s footsteps and the glass shards being stepped on.

The fact that they're reminding us of Stu regularly must mean something. From the moment Richie semi-quoted him on 5 ("did you just hit me with the phone?") to Kirby openly stating there are those who believe he died and those who don't in 6, it can't all go without a payoff in the end. Why would they even bring that last idea to the table otherwise? I've been thinking about how Scream 3 retconned something from the past to try to guess what 7 could retcon from 5. And I think the most probable choice is for them to change Amber and Richie not being the ultimate masterminds of it all. Just as Roman sent Stu and Billy after Sidney, someone else must have sent Amber and Richie after Sam. That's how you could get Stu into it. Stu must have known his pal Billy got Sam's mom pregnant. Then he sent Amber and Richie to kill her because, if they did, he finally got to make his movie in finishing their requel. But, even better, if they didn't and Sam's killer instincts kicked in, he got to try to use that to change her, join him, and finish what he and her father started years ago: killing Sidney. So that way you could even bring Sid back into it. It's always been about her. Try to get to Sam to become the new Billy to have a Macher and a Loomis finally finish Prescott.
I do not agree with Ghostface not matching the person behind the mask's strength or physical demeanor being a clue tho. I mean, there are things Ghostface does that go beyond anybody's realistic capabilities and wouldn't be fixed by changing who was really behind the mask at a certain time, like how he avoids a shotgun shot in 6. For that theory to work, we'd have to pick which physical abilities of him would make more sense if there was somebody else behind the mask while at the same time actively ignoring the things he does that nobody could realistically do. It's choosing which facts to force inside a theory for it to work. The fact that anybody can gain certain abilities when using the mask that don't necessarily match who the person really is, that's just a genre trope. It's like watching Deep Red and realizing the killer was an old lady the whole time. It purposefully doesn't play into the logic of what an old woman can or can't do.

Correct. The question marky sticky notes were in regards to "these are the masks still out there". Mickey and Mrs. Loomis also had that next to them as well. His death in 1996 was confirmed below his name like the rest of them. The interaction with Mindy and Kirby on "If you believe he's really dead" was them poking fun at the fanbase and weather or not you believe that theory or not. That's what I saw.
I absolutely love your theory on Stu, I was sat waiting for him to be revealed in 6 but man your theory of him being the puppet master unveiled in 7 is a theory I can get on board with, much love my man!!
Stu being behind all of the recent events would definitely tie up a lot of things, and it would fit within the scream world. This is now a requal trilogy assuming 7 is directed by the same people so they can do what scream 3 did, which is go back to the beginning and reveal who was really calling the shots and who set everything into motion.
One aspect you forgot which I think is a viable option is Danny Josh Segarra’s character he could have been the one that was planted by Stu to just be around. I just refuse to believe they casted Josh Segarra to play a perfectly sane person lol
If anything, I believe the theory even more now after this one. While some thought the Tv scene was a confirmation he’s dead, so felt otherwise. I felt it was throwing another clue at us. I also feel that because the McKenzie killings not being addressed is a clue that will lead into 7. I don’t think that was just a throw away add-on there on the posters. It means something and I love this entire puzzle leading up to it. ❤
One of the biggest things for me moving forward is for the killers who are ghostface , actually able to do the things they are meant to. A lot of the killings have been unbelievable when you see who was meant to have done it
then saying twice basically that stu is “dead” just means it’ll be even more shocking when he’s not dead. then scream 8 could feel fresh again since Stu is no longer an option
I love that there's someone with a voice on youtube that loves Stu as much as me lol! Cause I'd love for him to return, and your idea is similar to mine. Which I'm stoked that Matthew L. would reprise his role, and is so eager to do so. One thing I would love to see in a Scream movie is for a Ghostface to get away at the end. Really hope we get a Stu Ghostface vs Sam with her almost fighting in place of her dad Billy. Stu's motive could be that he is pissed at how popular Sam is from basically becoming a "killer" and no credit is being given to Stu at all.

I think it's particularly easy to slot Stu in as Dewey's killer / Gale's attacker not only for all the points you mentioned, but because to go along with the Amber and Quin explanation as the movies presented feels like we're simply conceding a pretty egregious plot hole in a series that (for the most part) is pretty damned good about avoiding errors like that. Something to mull re: future installments - considering the first weekend box office, an announcement for part 7 seems inevitable and probably quite soon. That said, it feels like 2024 might be too quick to get another movie made / marketed / released if it's going to be based around the Core Four. If I ran Paramount I'd try to lock down those actors as well as Radio Silence for part 7 ASAP and shoot it with a targeted release of 2025. At the same time, I back up a small armored car to Neve Campbell's house, not to mention Courtney Cox and Matthew Lillard. All of this is done as quietly as goddamned possible. Scream 7 comes out and serves as either an end or at least a suitable pausing point for the story of Sam, Tara, Mindy and Chad. Post credits you drop not a teaser, but a full-blown trailer for Scream 8 that's marketed as the last appearance for Sid and Gale. That's where Stu finally gets his moment to shine before Sidney puts him down once and for all. Here's the kicker - the release date is 12/18/2026, almost thirty years exactly from the release of the original. Is something even sort of like this going to happen? Almost assuredly not. Will its unlikeness stop me from hoping it happens? Also, absolutely not. Nor will I be disappointed with what we DO get (the GF reveal played better for me on a second viewing) though I agree that they should stop teasing us poor (S)true Believers if they're not going to pull the trigger. Funny thing is what you said about Stu contacting Bailey about richies death I thought the same thing but for Nancy Loomis. I though he also found Mickey for her to team up with. I saw somewhere online mickey had a backstory he was killing and putting his stories in chatroom so it makes sense. Agreed the call with gale was too personal. Sounded like he was there with Dewey. Plus him saying the conversation is long overdue. Also if you notice how ghostface uses the knife in that scene it's the exact way that stu did in Sidney house. Although Quinn said he was her favorite killer so maybe it was imitation. Also agree with Amber because she did say she became obsessed right after her parents bought the house. Another thing I noticed is 5 and 6 have been very focused on breaking Sam into a killer and she is enjoying it more each time. My friend has a theory that since Sam can't get a therapist to stick with that stu will pose as a online or call center therapist and bring the killer out of her and Trojan horse her to Sidney. And when you think about it maybe that's why Bailey stole the therapist file on sam to give to him. Either way whenever he does pop up it should be for the last movie. If Chad can survive 30 stab wounds stu can survive two stabs and a TV.
An article came out today from Variety where Jamie Vanderbuilt, producer William Sherak, and producer Paul Neinstein all three say that Stu could possibly come back.
I don't want the series to turn into a joke with the killers and motives, that's why having Stu come back and finish the series with Scream 7 is perfect.

I always thought it would actually make sense that people wouldn't mention him even if he were alive and in jail. The reason would be that nobody respects him enough to remember, everyone always just talks about Billy and considers him the mastermind and kinda just forgets about stu. I really thought a cool idea for 6 would've been stu being the mastermind behind a cult of Ghostfaces behind bars as a way of showing everyone he deserves respect. I also thought pulling a Psycho 2 and actually having him being released from prison (since it has been 27 years and maybe his rich parents got him out of a life sentence) would have been interesting. Now that 6 squashed those two ideas, the only things I can count on are his death being faked by his parents, or his death being faked by the government 😂
THIS, especially since scream 5 characters dont even seem to know who Stu is, theres the girl asking "who is Stu Macher" and when ghostface asks who were the killers in the first stab they answer with just Billy Loomis

Look this franchise is going to have many more sequels to come, why not throw us Stu Lives fans a bone for one or more sequels. But I have a tweak to your theory about Richie and Amber taking Gale and Sid to the kitchen, what if Stu didn’t know and that part was all Richie trying to make his own movie. Stu then sees that Richie and Amber died anyway, he shrugs his shoulders and call’s Detective Bailey. But your idea does sound pretty good and sadistic for Stu, he knew they were f*cked and let them die. Anyways, love your pitch.
Stu influencing Amber and Richie makes sense seeing how they used his house for their finale. Plus he could want sam to join him. Your father was my partner. It's your birth right. Scream v and VI were a test to see how tough Sam is or he just wants revenge.
I really want Sydney and Stu to have a final showdown in scream 7. I have just got back from my local cinema after watching scream 6 again two days in a row and enjoyed it even more definitely in my top 3. Quick question Mike how would you rank the movies? I never noticed until recently but in Scream 2, Mickey hugs Matthew Lillard (aka Stu) at the frat party during his cameo. I saw it in a UA-cam video and then rewatched scream 2 and sure enough he does! It's a brief side hug/shoulder pat. I feel like that was not a coincidence, especially considering they were planning to bring Stu back as the killer in Scream 3 during this time. They could use that scene as a flashback to show Stu lurking in the shadows and had connections with other ghost faces. I think it would be cool if they did flashbacks and showed Stu was behind attacks in other films! Maybe they could do the flashback to show Stu was the one who killed Randy or was the Ghostface in the car scene in 2, was the Ghostface who chased Sidney around the movie set in 3, attacked Sidney and her aunt in 4, killed Dewey in 5 and attacked Gale in 6. I think that would be really neat! I heard Matt was around on set during Scream 2 as he and Neve were dating at the time. Maybe somewhere they have footage of him interacting with the cast, and they could use that to show he was around the entire time but went unnoticed.
I definitely thought the phone call with Gale was interesting. When Ghostface says something like "we've never spoken on the phone" I forget the exact line. But it came off as Ghostface meaning he's spoken with the past legacy characters except her which would mean it had to be Stu. Because the new killers never spoke with Sid or Dewey.

Also right befote Dewey dies & he hits ghostface or something you can hear a man's voice when he makes like an augh or oof sound. At this point it wouldn't make sense if he doesn't. With all the cameos throughout the movies. When in proximity of a ghostface attack no less. And the teasing dead or not dead just seems like too much for no payoff.
After they gave the Roman convincing Billy and being her brother backstory it’s really the only other way for a conclusive feeling ending for Sidney other than her just not being in any of the new movies
I know the Detective was in the park and his son was in the van but there is no way Quin could have done Gale and her boyfriend that person was built like a man they were really strong and they were stealthy like a professional
Let’s talk about the TV and Stu. There was a line about the conspiracy that Stu is still alive. Was Kirby pushing the TV onto Ethan and killing him to prove to fans that that killed Stu? Gillett: Yes. So that’s putting the nail in the coffin! Gillett: That is scripted, specifically, as a brutal and definitive kill. Guy and Jamie wrote the TV falling on Ethan’s head as a brutal and definitive kill. Vanderbilt: I just loved that moment. Once we got the idea of her saying, “I saw that in a scary movie once,” we had to do it. It’s the one last pop up! It was more about that than saying anything about all of the Stu truthers out there. Could Matthew Lillard pop up in a future movie? Vanderbilt: There’s no good answer, so I will never confirm or deny stuff like that. Sherak: Anything’s possible. Neinstein: Characters can come in and out! There’s different ways to do it. It’s such a part of all of their lives; they have an affinity for “Scream.”
He’s dead. They literally killed another GhostFace with the same TV that killed Stu. Basically saying “look this TV is completely capable of killing someone.” Stu is probably my favorite killer too, but he is dead.

Stu being the mastermind behind everything would be absolutely sick. I was actually just watching scream 4 the other night and there's a perfect point where he can be tied in that movie. When Olivia was going in her house, Hoss and Perkins were in their car, and Charlie was already in the closet, and Jill was with Kirby. When Hoss and Perkins said they think they saw ghost face down the block, it couldn't have been Charlie or Jill. Stu? Just spitballing lmao
Just left the theaters. I think with the core 4 surviving, Sam slowly spiraling, and the slight hints at stu we have several movies coming up over the next few years and I think Stu will definitely return. Just a matter of time. Absolutely loved the movie.
.Sidney is 63, Gale is almost 90... They're all thinking they'll be retiring in peace in woodsboro when a 64 years old Stu Macher comes back to life to grant that retirering money from Gale and Sidney.
I feel if stu ever returned he shouldn't be the ghostface. I feel it would be very difficult to just have him unmask at the end. It would be good for the die hard fans but for people who are just going to see the latest movie I don't think they could have him be the killer without it being too obvious. I feel they would need to have him be like a modern cotton character. That way you could have him back and enjoy him in the movie all the way through

I am SO here for every idea you threw at the wall here. I am 100% for ALL OF IT. All I want is Stu, without any de-aging filter though, because if that’s what they’d do then I don’t want it. I’d be okay with the hallucinations angle too, as long as it’s not... that digital filter. I want the performance to not be ruined by CGI. If that’s what I’d get then no, thanks.
With the actors and Kevin Williamson alluding to Stu just makes it seem like they'll bring him back in some form or fashion regardless of whether he's alive Another thing I noticed is when Gale hits ghostface with a cast iron skillet in the face he just gets right back up which may be Stu if his face was reconstructed with some metal parts inside (I saw someone comment this somewhere so I don't take credit for this theory)
in Scream 3 it was revealed that Roman was behind 1 and 2. Also, with the pattern that the new trilogy has been mildly copying the first 3. So makes sense that Stu could have been behind 5 and 6.

I don’t know the lore so would love to know if it could match up…but it would be a great twist to have Stu be Tara’s dad. He had a secret life. Was trying to be normal and found out Billy had messed up this life too so snaps. This would explain the no killing for so long and make both sisters the daughters of the original killers. Like I said not sure if the timing matches with lore but would love to see a video about the possibility

What no one seems to be talking about is.. they very clearly paralleled the 2nd one in a lot of ways, including the killer reveal. If the plan for 7 is to have parallels to 3, then it’s all about taking it back to the beginning and changing things up. It’d be about Richie not actually being the orchestrator of this new trilogy. Stu convincing Richie and Amber would parallel Roman with Billy and Stu.

Also, assuming he’s alive, he’s had almost 30 years to plan things out and pick up new antisocial skills and become more of a praying mantis kind of killer. He’d be in his late 40s or early 50s depending on when he’d come back, and he’d have a lot of time to change how his mind works in all this time. Matter of fact, he was meant to be alive and be the mastermind manipulating a ghostface cult from jail in 3. Stu is not stupid, he was merely lying and pretending to be dumb to not raise suspicions.

Yeah, the attack on Gale seemed very personal. Same with Dewey in Scream 5. I believe they "secretly" leaning to Stu's return. Where it all leads (and concludes) to Ms. Prescott.
I think there is a real possibility that Stu could come back. That line from Kirby wasn't a throw-away line. "If you believe he's dead" I think the seeds are being planted and that Kirby is on to something, or maybe she knows more than she's letting on. Besides this is a new trilogy so to speak. Randy's trilogy rules. "Forget what you know about the past". Maybe Stu is the mastermind and was involved the whole time. It would clean up a lot of plot holes. Who knows, maybe nothing comes of it. I'm just glad Scream is doing well.

It would be awesome if he was the one that influenced Richie and got the parts moving imo. I'm fine with it either way, but if Chad can get stabbed 100x and survive and Quinn can throw a 200 lb man through a window in Scream universe, I'd be okay with the hoops they'd have to jump through to explain him surviving.

‘Tell Sidney, he didn’t get me.’ This line bugged me, it was well delivered but it’s so out of place. That said, if Stu is back, Sid and Gale could suspect they’ve been dealing with something unusual since part 4 or after Dewey died. There could be a connection as far back as 2 but I’d probably focus on the online community part, as it more directly impacts the more recent movies.
It could go a ways to explain why Gale wrote a book, if Sid asked her too. They can’t let him know they’re on to him. I’ve always wanted Sidney to go full Nancy on a Ghostface as tribute to Wes’s final girls. Need an damn good Ghostface to make it work though.

They made a whole ass point in the reveal of VI about how a cop can cover up their child’s death with prosthetics and swapping out bodies, etc. PLUS the whole “if you believe he’s really dead” exchange can’t be just a coincidence, they definitely want that option there going forward 😂
My main thing with the Amber killing Dewey debate is that even Neve has said that ghostface needs to be looked at as its own thing during these scenes. It's never come off as a pothole to me.

Well we are in this “requel” of the franchise. These two new movies are paralleling the first two films in many ways like having the boyfriend be the killer in the first installments and the family wanting revenge in the second installments. As for the bodega scene, I think it was Detective Wayne who killed the bodega Owner with the shotgun, he’s a cop and he is trained to use shotguns including sawed off ones, and he was also smarter, when he was shooting the glass windows on the ice boxes, he was using that tactic so he can hear Sam and Tara’s footsteps and the glass shards being stepped on.

The fact that they're reminding us of Stu regularly must mean something. From the moment Richie semi-quoted him on 5 ("did you just hit me with the phone?") to Kirby openly stating there are those who believe he died and those who don't in 6, it can't all go without a payoff in the end. Why would they even bring that last idea to the table otherwise?
I've been thinking about how Scream 3 retconned something from the past to try to guess what 7 could retcon from 5. And I think the most probable choice is for them to change Amber and Richie not being the ultimate masterminds of it all. Just as Roman sent Stu and Billy after Sidney, someone else must have sent Amber and Richie after Sam. That's how you could get Stu into it.
Stu must have known his pal Billy got Sam's mom pregnant. Then he sent Amber and Richie to kill her because, if they did, he finally got to make his movie in finishing their requel. But, even better, if they didn't and Sam's killer instincts kicked in, he got to try to use that to change her, join him, and finish what he and her father started years ago: killing Sidney.
So that way you could even bring Sid back into it. It's always been about her. Try to get to Sam to become the new Billy to have a Macher and a Loomis finally finish Prescott.

I do not agree with Ghostface not matching the person behind the mask's strength or physical demeanor being a clue tho. I mean, there are things Ghostface does that go beyond anybody's realistic capabilities and wouldn't be fixed by changing who was really behind the mask at a certain time, like how he avoids a shotgun shot in 6. For that theory to work, we'd have to pick which physical abilities of him would make more sense if there was somebody else behind the mask while at the same time actively ignoring the things he does that nobody could realistically do. It's choosing which facts to force inside a theory for it to work.
The fact that anybody can gain certain abilities when using the mask that don't necessarily match who the person really is, that's just a genre trope. It's like watching Deep Red and realizing the killer was an old lady the whole time. It purposefully doesn't play into the logic of what an old woman can or can't do.

Correct. The question marky sticky notes were in regards to "these are the masks still out there". Mickey and Mrs. Loomis also had that next to them as well. His death in 1996 was confirmed below his name like the rest of them.
The interaction with Mindy and Kirby on "If you believe he's really dead" was them poking fun at the fanbase and weather or not you believe that theory or not.

Stu being behind all of the recent events would definitely tie up a lot of things, and it would fit within the scream world. This is now a requal trilogy assuming 7 is directed by the same people so they can do what scream 3 did, which is go back to the beginning and reveal who was really calling the shots and who set everything into motion.
One aspect you forgot which I think is a viable option is Danny Josh Segarra’s character he could have been the one that was planted by Stu to just be around. I just refuse to believe they casted Josh Segarra to play a perfectly sane person lol
If anything, I believe the theory even more now after this one. While some thought the Tv scene was a confirmation he’s dead, so felt otherwise. I felt it was throwing another clue at us. I also feel that because the McKenzie killings not being addressed is a clue that will lead into 7. I don’t think that was just a throw away add-on there on the posters. It means something and I love this entire puzzle leading up to it. ❤

I think it's particularly easy to slot Stu in as Dewey's killer / Gale's attacker not only for all the points you mentioned, but because to go along with the Amber and Quin explanation as the movies presented feels like we're simply conceding a pretty egregious plot hole in a series that (for the most part) is pretty damned good about avoiding errors like that.
Something to mull re: future installments - considering the first weekend box office, an announcement for part 7 seems inevitable and probably quite soon. That said, it feels like 2024 might be too quick to get another movie made / marketed / released if it's going to be based around the Core Four. If I ran Paramount I'd try to lock down those actors as well as Radio Silence for part 7 ASAP and shoot it with a targeted release of 2025. At the same time, I back up a small armored car to Neve Campbell's house, not to mention Courtney Cox and Matthew Lillard. All of this is done as quietly as goddamned possible. Scream 7 comes out and serves as either an end or at least a suitable pausing point for the story of Sam, Tara, Mindy and Chad. Post credits you drop not a teaser, but a full-blown trailer for Scream 8 that's marketed as the last appearance for Sid and Gale. That's where Stu finally gets his moment to shine before Sidney puts him down once and for all. Here's the kicker - the release date is 12/18/2026, almost thirty years exactly from the release of the original.
Is something even sort of like this going to happen? Almost assuredly not. Will its unlikeness stop me from hoping it happens? Also, absolutely not. Nor will I be disappointed with what we DO get (the GF reveal played better for me on a second viewing) though I agree that they should stop teasing us poor (S)true Believers if they're not going to pull the trigger.

Funny thing is what you said about Stu contacting Bailey about richies death I thought the same thing but for Nancy Loomis. I though he also found Mickey for her to team up with. I saw somewhere online mickey had a backstory he was killing and putting his stories in chatroom so it makes sense.
Agreed the call with gale was too personal. Sounded like he was there with Dewey. Plus him saying the conversation is long overdue. Also if you notice how ghostface uses the knife in that scene it's the exact way that stu did in Sidney house. Although Quinn said he was her favorite killer so maybe it was imitation.

Another thing I noticed is 5 and 6 have been very focused on breaking Sam into a killer and she is enjoying it more each time. My friend has a theory that since Sam can't get a therapist to stick with that stu will pose as a online or call center therapist and bring the killer out of her and Trojan horse her to Sidney. And when you think about it maybe that's why Bailey stole the therapist file on sam to give to him.
Either way whenever he does pop up it should be for the last movie. If Chad can survive 30 stab wounds stu can survive two stabs and a TV.

An article came out today from Variety where Jamie Vanderbuilt, producer William Sherak, and producer Paul Neinstein all three say that Stu could possibly come back.

I always thought it would actually make sense that people wouldn't mention him even if he were alive and in jail. The reason would be that nobody respects him enough to remember, everyone always just talks about Billy and considers him the mastermind and kinda just forgets about stu. I really thought a cool idea for 6 would've been stu being the mastermind behind a cult of Ghostfaces behind bars as a way of showing everyone he deserves respect. I also thought pulling a Psycho 2 and actually having him being released from prison (since it has been 27 years and maybe his rich parents got him out of a life sentence) would have been interesting. Now that 6 squashed those two ideas, the only things I can count on are his death being faked by his parents, or his death being faked by the government 😂
THIS, especially since scream 5 characters dont even seem to know who Stu is, theres the girl asking "who is Stu Macher" and when ghostface asks who were the killers in the first stab they answer with just Billy Loomis
Thank you so much for defending the Stu Lives fans! I am one who would absolutely love to see Stu come back. Look this franchise is going to have many more sequels to come, why not throw us Stu Lives fans a bone for one or more sequels. With that said I only want Stu back if it makes sense and is explained well with a great story. Fill in those plot holes from past Screams. Great video!!!

But I have a tweak to your theory about Richie and Amber taking Gale and Sid to the kitchen, what if Stu didn’t know and that part was all Richie trying to make his own movie. Stu then sees that Richie and Amber died anyway, he shrugs his shoulders and call’s Detective Bailey. But your idea does sound pretty good and sadistic for Stu, he knew they were f*cked and let them die. Anyways, love your pitch.
Stu influencing Amber and Richie makes sense seeing how they used his house for their finale. Plus he could want sam to join him. Your father was my partner. It's your birth right. Scream v and VI were a test to see how tough Sam is or he just wants revenge.

I have just got back from my local cinema after watching scream 6 again two days in a row and enjoyed it even more definitely in my top 3.

I never noticed until recently but in Scream 2, Mickey hugs Matthew Lillard (aka Stu) at the frat party during his cameo. I saw it in a UA-cam video and then rewatched scream 2 and sure enough he does! It's a brief side hug/shoulder pat. I feel like that was not a coincidence, especially considering they were planning to bring Stu back as the killer in Scream 3 during this time. They could use that scene as a flashback to show Stu lurking in the shadows and had connections with other ghost faces. I think it would be cool if they did flashbacks and showed Stu was behind attacks in other films! Maybe they could do the flashback to show Stu was the one who killed Randy or was the Ghostface in the car scene in 2, was the Ghostface who chased Sidney around the movie set in 3, attacked Sidney and her aunt in 4, killed Dewey in 5 and attacked Gale in 6. I think that would be really neat! I heard Matt was around on set during Scream 2 as he and Neve were dating at the time. Maybe somewhere they have footage of him interacting with the cast, and they could use that to show he was around the entire time but went unnoticed.

I definitely thought the phone call with Gale was interesting. When Ghostface says something like "we've never spoken on the phone" I forget the exact line. But it came off as Ghostface meaning he's spoken with the past legacy characters except her which would mean it had to be Stu. Because the new killers never spoke with Sid or Dewey.

I have always thought that it was Stu that killed Dewey too! No matter how much people hate it! Cause like you said there's a lot of things that don't fully add up! Also right befote Dewey dies & he hits ghostface or something you can hear a man's voice when he makes like an augh or oof sound. At this point it wouldn't make sense if he doesn't. With all the cameos throughout the movies. When in proximity of a ghostface attack no less. And the teasing dead or not dead just seems like too much for no payoff.

He’s dead. They literally killed another GhostFace with the same TV that killed Stu. Basically saying “look this TV is completely capable of killing someone.” Stu is probably my favorite killer too, but he is dead.
Mike, I really like the idea of Stu being the master mind…. I was hoping that Stu was the one wearing the aged mask in this one, but without Sid, it wouldn’t have had the punch.

When Olivia was going in her house, Hoss and Perkins were in their car, and Charlie was already in the closet, and Jill was with Kirby. Just left the theaters. I think with the core 4 surviving, Sam slowly spiraling, and the slight hints at stu we have several movies coming up over the next few years and I think Stu will definitely return. Just a matter of time. Absolutely loved the movie.
.Sidney is 63, Gale is almost 90... They're all thinking they'll be retiring in peace in woodsboro when a 64 years old Stu Macher comes back to life to grant that retirering money from Gale and Sidney.

I feel if stu ever returned he shouldn't be the ghostface. I feel it would be very difficult to just have him unmask at the end. It would be good for the die hard fans but for people who are just going to see the latest movie I don't think they could have him be the killer without it being too obvious. I feel they would need to have him be like a modern cotton character. That way you could have him back and enjoy him in the movie all the way through

I am SO here for every idea you threw at the wall here. I am 100% for ALL OF IT. All I want is Stu, without any de-aging filter though, because if that’s what they’d do then I don’t want it. I’d be okay with the hallucinations angle too, as long as it’s not... that digital filter. I want the performance to not be ruined by CGI. If that’s what I’d get then no, thanks.
With the actors and Kevin Williamson alluding to Stu just makes it seem like they'll bring him back in some form or fashion regardless of whether he's alive
Another thing I noticed is when Gale hits ghostface with a cast iron skillet in the face he just gets right back up which may be Stu if his face was reconstructed with some metal parts inside (I saw someone comment this somewhere so I don't take credit for this theory)
in Scream 3 it was revealed that Roman was behind 1 and 2. Also, with the pattern that the new trilogy has been mildly copying the first 3. So makes sense that Stu could have been behind 5 and 6.

I don’t know the lore so would love to know if it could match up…but it would be a great twist to have Stu be Tara’s dad. He had a secret life. Was trying to be normal and found out Billy had messed up this life too so snaps. This would explain the no killing for so long and make both sisters the daughters of the original killers. Like I said not sure if the timing matches with lore but would love to see a video about the possibility
