    Very nice video and worked for me. I also learned how to do a bowtie knot. Also, I like the video is concise (short) and to the point!

    Thanks for that straight-forward demo, Grizzel. Please add a caution about keeping your hand out from under the melting rope when using the lighter. Also, to spit on your finger tips before touching and shaping the melted rope... that plastic stores a lot of painful heat and will blister you when it sticks to your skin.

    I have the 28' Werner fiberglass ladder. It has the rope. For some reason I can't get the rope to raise the extension. I weight 230 lbs and I can hang on the rope and it won't raise. I have to lay the ladder on the ground, move the extension and then raise the ladder. I've inspected it many times and I can't see what's wrong. The rope is the original black poly and it's pretty stiff. I wonder if a newer, more flexible rope would make a huge difference? Thanks for the video.

    How thick should the cord be? Mine is second hand and the cord is long gone. 😅 it’s about 50 years old and all aluminum.

    Thanks with one note however inexpensive the chin rope is and it was easily identifiable by patterns colors etc, its a dangerous inferior rope and will pop break in pretty soon as it does not weather well. Be advised Use only quality materials lest you have a collapse due to rope fail. thanks again!

    • @Grizzel
      @Grizzel  Рік тому

      You are absolutely correct. I had a job that day and this was the only rope I had.

    • @cleatington
      @cleatington Рік тому

      Well enough said and advised, also might be making note on rope diameter because fitting a too large dia rope inhibits smooth movement or any at all if too large and too small dia gets jammed between the pulley hanging it on its pin, made the latter mistake myself! @@Grizzel

    • @FingerStink420
      @FingerStink420 5 місяців тому

      Doesn't matter. The rope isn't required to be load bearing. It's just to help move the ladder in between locks. Also, that rope isn't inferior, just depends on the job. The superior diamond poly rope is still Inferior to my paracord 1250, yet UV will destroy it all the same on a ladder. This rope is the superior. 😆
      Trust me.... I use both these rope on each one of my boats.

    I don’t know why we have to immediately shape molten plastic after doing this every time but I’m guilty of it as well. Usually burn myself.

    Nice job, but I would like to see it in action. I can't quite visualize how it works. Lots of lame videos just leave the rope dangling. Your way looks like the right way.

    What is the point of the rope

    • @Grizzel
      @Grizzel  Рік тому +3

      The rope pulls the extension up. So that the ladder becomes taller to reach higher places.

    • @anthonyz5671
      @anthonyz5671 9 місяців тому

      Uhhh dumb question but how do you pull it when you tied it down on both ends? 😳

    • @Grizzel
      @Grizzel  9 місяців тому +1

      The rope will be tied on each side. So when you pull, the latch will move up each rung to lock in.

  • @laurenbednarczyk315
    @laurenbednarczyk315 Рік тому
