Acura dropped the ball with the Hype S. It weighs as much as a Dodge Charger, is as long and wide as a BMW 5 series, and the interior is smaller than a Honda Civic. I don’t even know how that’s possible.
@@ii_dynasty that’s literally such a negligible difference in weight that options in the car can make it weigh more or less than the other car. I’ve seen Charger Scat models weigh in at 4325. My point still stands, the Type S ridiculously big and heavy to have an interior that size.
@@ii_dynasty You can deflect and nitpick all you want, it is physically footprint wise way larger than a g70 while having an interior the same size and also gets smoked by it. It also gets noticeably worse gas mileage than the G70 and all the other vehicles in it’s class. It’s weighs nearly as much as a Dodge Charger Scat Pack and weighs as much as a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack yet has a way smaller back seat and interior. Is that good enough for you?
@Kurapika Jones the g70 has 20 city vs. the tlx 19 city, the tlx is a bigger car that's to be expected. The charger is a full sized car vs. The tlx, which is midsize. And the weight isn't even the tlx issue. It's the power, If the tlx made 455hp and 450 torque, it would not only make full use of the sh-awd but make it the most competitive car in its class.
I'm guessing he was running the wrong fuel or something because my type S with a JB4 on map 3 absolutely flies. I have had no issues crushing most "performance" cars.
For all the aesthetics praise the TLX has been getting from car reviewers I'm not so much a fan of it's looks. This is the one time I feel like the luxury trim (Advance) looks better than the sports trim (Aspec). The Advance just needs the Aspec spoiler body colored. The type S on the other hand looks better than the Aspec, but besides the optional wheels I still feel like the Advance looks better although I'm still not wowed by it's overall looks. I mean the TLX has a nice stance which gives it a bit of presence but overall its dull nothing stands out maybe just the headlights but only when they are on and that tiger eye paint.
I like the styling a lot but it looks entirely to aggressive for its actual performance. With those ginormous exhaust tips you’d think it was actually fast instead of how disappointedly slow it really is.
@@Ih8chew MmHmm...exactly. Styling is subjective. I just prefer cleaner lines and a more understated design. The Type S tries too hard and I grew tired of the design in a matter of days after I first saw it. To me the Germans are the masters of clean, aggressive yet understated design philosophy. Japan, not so much. I have a 22 Model 3P and I think it looks sexy but some little punk kid in my neighborhood said to my daughter that it's ugly and looks like an egg lol. Subjective...But you are right, with the coke can sized exhaust outlets, it promises big performance, but what it delivers is more akin to the fat kid that was fast and athletic for a fat kid, but still not fast nor really all that athletic. My apologies to all the fat kids out there...but you get the point.
@@mholmes9262 The kid is right, your car is like all the lizard people in my neighborhood. They all want to move into a Tesla once they can afford to get out of the Subaru. What a mundane vehicle.
@@MikeYurbasovich "Opinions are like..." Ok so the front looks a little ducky. But have you driven one? I was not a fan until I actually drove one. Tesla's with a P are next level, something I never even imagined until I drove one. Once you experience that, it looks sexy.
Stop playing and get a jb4……..ain’t nothing bad going to happen. Just get intakes, LDP and a heat exchanger. You’ll be fine. Just don’t beat on the car.
I got 2019 q50 awd signature and love it and yes is faster... but acura type s is better quality for sure and i love the look inside/out just another level. Infiniti is long due for upgrade cmon.
TLX type S for me
acura tlx type s for sure lol im taking it all day
Type S all the way
Q60 looks the best.

It weighs 4,221, which is less than a scatpack at 4,385.

@Kurapika Jones it weighs about 200 more than a g70 and about 200 less than Charger. That means the difference between g70 and the tlx is negligible.

I didn’t know them type S are that slow lol, and you should either trade your base 3.0 for a red sport or go fbo / tune with the 3.0 and push 430+

@@chrism65 yea that’s with a (JB4) , but from factory I thought they had more punch from the adverted numbers from Acura
I don’t care if it’s slower I love that type S
Type S is just too heavy even with all that HP weighs over 4K pounds q for me but I’d rather have the 50 and not the 60

The styling is overdone, just like most things coming from Japan these days. I'm not a fan of it, either. Tries too hard. And it's a porker.
