You can also buy Gita Press Bhagavad Gita with just the transileration and translation to begin. Even after you finish reading the simple one, as he says its best not to get into Shankara or Madhusudhan saraswati etc. Not useful for beginners. Tattvavivecani from Gita press is amazing for beginners. Or Sadhak Sanjivani
Have you read Mudhusudana Sarasvati commentary on GIta which is called Gudhartha Dipika ? I have heard it is the best commentary. Swami Gambhirananda has also translated that commentary

Now i have started to read gita sanskrit with hindi and english translation from gitapress.. Also i have convinced some of my friends too buy the same book and they did... Now the problem is they dont know anything about gita or Mahabharata.. Though i am not an expert myself but as of now i am able to explain them what's going on and which character is who... So i was searching some books for them as well as for myself with explanation.. I came across these 2 books tatva vevechan and sadak sanjeevni from gitapress.. Could you please explain to me what is the difference between these 2 books the pros and cons of both and also which would be the best for beginners... Also another note neither of us are much comfortable in reading hindi and we know no sanskrit at all. So we prefer English.. And gitapress is available in my city.. Radhe Radhe Shivaji All commentaries come with some philosophy orientation. If you want a relatively straight forward version I like Tattva vivecani and Sadhak sanjeevani. I love Tattva vivecani a bit more because of familiarity. If you dont want anything just the meanings go to Ramakrishna Math store and look for. Gita with just sloka and their meanings. Also on amazom India you habe swami b.g.narasinghas Bhagavad Gita which just has plain meaning which you may enjoy
