Years back when GTA V was about to come out, I really didn't love this game that much. It's realistic physics and dark atmosphere used to irritate me. Now, this game has become my favorite in the series. Maybe because I've grown older. But the atmosphere and the story hits just differently than the other GTA games. It is a master piece of a game.
GTA IV is Dan Houser's baby, the story he's been wanting to tell for a while. I really love the more dark and grounded tone of the game and it's still the best GTA story to this day

@@calenbarnes9597 I love the physics (though admittedly the slower cars were too sluggish) in this game so much more than 5. 5 really tamed down everything to make it less chaotic. In 4 you could do the most insane stunts. Really hope 6 is a return to form in this regard.

I remember being blown away by this trailer when I first saw it. PS2 era was at the end, and GTA IV reveal was jaw dropping. The evolution from San Andreas, at least from graphics aspect was something I couldn't stop talking with friends.

This game is nearly 16 and yet parts of it still feel way ahead of their time. The story is impeccable, Niko is insanely well written, the city, the physics, everything. No other game has the same replay value as this one. I closed gta 5 after 1 day of replaying because i got bored of it. Even after all this time I can still return to the game and feel the same sensation i felt the moment i opened it up for the first time. Nothing will ever top gta 4.
2021 Why did i move here. They said that they will have an huge update in GTA online the second half of the next year so don't expect GTA VI within at least the next 2 years, let's be honest.

This is like a mixture of American History X, Brat, Once Upon A Time In America, The Godfather trilogy, The Wire, The Sopranos and Carlito's Way. All combined into one legendary game. This was the most realistic game I've ever played when I was a kid. It just feels like yesterday.
I still remember my 9 year old self replaying this trailer over and over again and being so amazed. Now I'm older, have a car, and are running people over in real life.
This trailer was mind-blowing back in the day. People going crazy over how closely Liberty City resembled the real New York, a huge step up from its GTA III incarnation. It felt like Rockstar had rewritten the rules of video gaming once again.

The thought of GTA IV and 2008 being 10 years ago now makes me feel old like dirt and kind of weird. To me it just feels like yesterday. I remember watching the various different GTA IV trailers here on Rockstar's UA-cam channel for over a year around 2007 - 2008 until purchasing the game at my local Gamestop on April 29th, 2008 in a crowded packed line. That's how real and epic the hype was. I was 17 years old at the time, so it was the first time I was able to purchase a rated "M" game legally on my own without a parent or guardian. It was a huge deal and something I'll never forget.
GTA IV with it's DLC's and GTA SA are my favorite GTA game's. To me they were game's you wanted to explore every mission, character's , activity as a kid i was impressed with the story line with those 3 game's i went home from school to watch every day Gta Series Video's and tutorial how to pass certain mission's. i wanted Niko Bellic and Luis Lopez to meet Carl Johnson or The Lost MC being allies with Grove Street Familie's . GTA 4, EFLC, SA had and still have the best story, character's, gameplay in the franchise also Merry Christmas.
I still remember back in 2007 when i was in an electronic store and saw the pre-trailer of GTAIV never before seen and nor official on gamecube nor any other game announcements on a laptop. It was the early release of THINGS WILL BE DIFFERENT TRAILER without any narration from Niko and it ends with the dock zooming out showing the iconic IV. Three months later the printing press and all magazine are flooded with GTA IV and Nikos character in the front cover It really brings back memories.
Those who didn't like GTA IV, I hope they know that GTA V, GTA VI, and RDR2 etc. use an advanced version of the RAGE engine. If it wasn't for GTA IV, these games wouldn't be improve. GTA IV is Rockstar's first foray into the HD universe.

I think it’s safe to say that we’ll never have a GTA as serious as this one ever again. It’s crazy how fast time goes. This game’s cycle ended 10 years ago and now GTA V’s cycle will end in less than 2 years from now. And a new era is about to begin, but GTA IV will always be my favorite out of the bunch.

This trailer was mind-blowing back in the day. People going crazy over how closely Liberty City resembled the real New York, a huge step up from its GTA III incarnation. It felt like Rockstar had rewritten the rules of video gaming once again.
Every revolutionary GTA is always set in Liberty City, from the original to III and then IV. This city is very special indeed.
Rockstar takes years. But when it brings a game. It just brings revolution. It changes how video games were made and future

The thought of GTA IV and 2008 being 10 years ago now makes me feel old like dirt and kind of weird. To me it just feels like yesterday. I remember watching the various different GTA IV trailers here on Rockstar's UA-cam channel for over a year around 2007 - 2008 until purchasing the game at my local Gamestop on April 29th, 2008 in a crowded packed line. That's how real and epic the hype was. I was 17 years old at the time, so it was the first time I was able to purchase a rated "M" game legally on my own without a parent or guardian. It was a huge deal and something I'll never forget.

Lol I was 9 or 10 i guess back in 2008. I mostly played gta vice city and games like Spider-Man 2, Need for Speed and Ratchet and Clank in 2008

This hits terribly hard after finishing the game… such a masterpiece, a game that was clearly ahead of its time. My favorite GTA.
GTA IV with it's DLC's and GTA SA are my favorite GTA game's. To me they were game's you wanted to explore every mission, character's , activity as a kid i was impressed with the story line with those 3 game's i went home from school to watch every day Gta Series Video's and tutorial how to pass certain mission's. i wanted Niko Bellic and Luis Lopez to meet Carl Johnson or The Lost MC being allies with Grove Street Familie's . GTA 4, EFLC, SA had and still have the best story, character's, gameplay in the franchise also Merry Christmas.

I still remember back in 2007 when i was in an electronic store and saw the pre-trailer of GTAIV never before seen and nor official on gamecube nor any other game announcements on a laptop. It was the early release of THINGS WILL BE DIFFERENT TRAILER without any narration from Niko and it ends with the dock zooming out showing the iconic IV. Three months later the printing press and all magazine are flooded with GTA IV and Nikos character in the front cover It really brings back memories.
Those who didn't like GTA IV, I hope they know that GTA V, GTA VI, and RDR2 etc. use an advanced version of the RAGE engine. If it wasn't for GTA IV, these games wouldn't be improve. GTA IV is Rockstar's first foray into the HD universe.

I think it’s safe to say that we’ll never have a GTA as serious as this one ever again. It’s crazy how fast time goes. This game’s cycle ended 10 years ago and now GTA V’s cycle will end in less than 2 years from now. And a new era is about to begin, but GTA IV will always be my favorite out of the bunch.

my gamertag and nickname was literally niko for like 12+ years because of my obsession with this game growing up lol. GTA5 still never scratched the itch that this game did. We will definitely never see a more dark and serious GTA again after 5s success. 6 literally looks like a copy of 5 but just a different city.
